Apple is insane.
because they sell the charger not wall brick
it is not insane it is pricing strategy, separate different component and sell them separately. Apple could sell them in bundle not separately but you will price will be higher say $169. In this way they can keep the price low (as low as apple price goes). think this way if you already have the 30W charging brick, why buy a $169 magsafe duo with a 30w brick billed in ? We buy thing we think additional things in the box are free, no they are not, they are all billed in, same way there are no such thing as free shipping as well.
It should be $39, that price I could do no brick. $129 is shocking.

Nice video, but I do not think this is worth €149 ~USD 182 in Europe
I picked this up as a convenient charging solution when making quick trips. It can charge my phone, air pods and watch with one device using one of my 90 watt chargers. My devices rarely drop below 35% so an overnight charging cycle isn't a problem.
So.... I need to buy a charging brick, for a charger I bought to charge my phone. Apple re-invented charging alright.
I understand the iPhone coming without a charge brick but this is insulting!! If your buying a charger, especially at this price, then it should actually be a complete and working charger with a brick!

@Falcon that doesn't follow when until year before every iPhone shipped with usba charger, meaning pretty much none of the people buying iPhone 12 have a usb charger. Apple gets to make bank on all those millions of people having to go buy a charger from them for $19 that would would have had to included for free. now instead of one box you get 2 boxes so much for helping the environment. It's that or they throw away the included usb c to lightening cable since it won't work with their usb a charger. so apple makes more money and pollutes the environment more with extra packaging and plastic. I had to go buy usb C charger, as did all my family and 95% of people buying iPhone 12s. only people who bought last years iPhone 11 Pro got usb c charger, everyone else has a usb a 5 watt charger or usb A iPad charger. for your and apples logic to work they would have had to 1. include no cable, or 2. include standard usb a to lightening cable. To finish you have to either buy a $19 charger and throw away your old cables, or throw away the included usb c cable. what a waste. only makes sense if apple making more money off accessory sales is the goal.

I won’t buy it for 3 reasons.
1.Overpriced
2.No charging brick included
3.MagSafe will leave a circular imprint on your iPhone cases.I haven’t bought the standalone MagSafe charger for that reason.
I am sticking with normal Qi wireless charging.

I've used MagSafe and MagSafe duo, for the price, its comparable to official apple chargers, the brick is only like $15, and it does not leave a mark, that is rumors, maybe the slightest bit of dust, but it wipes off immediately

I’ve used the MagSafe Charger since the new iPhone 12 Pro Max came out with the saddle brown leather case and I still don’t have an imprint on my case at all. Not even a slight mark…
It is overpriced, but I do like the look of it particularly for travelling. Nice that the cable is separate, so you can match with a 2 m cable if need more reach, and also having separate cable makes it more convenient to carry than the regular MagSafe. And of course the same cable can be used to charge the iPhone plugged in if a quick charge is required. I do think Apple should include a charging brick with it for that price.
Way over priced. Especially without a power block being included.

I read somewhere that by using the 20w adapter you will get 11-12w MagSafe Charging. If you use 27w or higher power brick you will get 14w MagSafe charging
If only it was USB C, then you could charge everything with it. You could charge your phone, watch and airpods. Then you could pull the USB C cable and charge an ipad or laptop.

People are seeing this as they saw the Pro Display XDR and its stand. It's expensive, but do you want a dual charger you can take with you? This is the Magnetic Charging Dock for the Apple Watch but it can also charge your phone, you bring one cable, one adapter, and you can charge both devices.
The question is: do you need something that can charge your phone and your watch. If yes, it's something you can consider. The next question is: do you need it to be portable. If that's a yes, you have almost no other option.
If you're just using it as a nightstand charger, it's very likely not for you. And if you're using it as a nightstand charger, you probably already have a brick that you keep plugged in there anyway. You're not only paying for the product, you're paying for the convenience. Is it overpriced? If you answered yes to the questions I posed, no, it probably isn't.
£150 when you include the brick. Let’s face it, apples point that people have plenty of bricks hanging around and so they won’t include them is a moot point when they’ve changed from USB-A to USB-C on their chargers. Absolutely insane! I want one but will not pay that price.
It’s cool but for around $150 you could get the Scosche Baselynx to charge 3 devices and it’s modular so you can pick which device you want to charge. It might not be MagSafe but having the ability to charge my phone, AirPods, watch, and IPad all in one place has been awesome. I’m pretty clearly an Apple fanboy I even get their cases pretty much exclusively but this one while cool isn’t the best option if you have anything more than just a phone and watch

I would love to see some form of wireless charging end up in the iPad Pro Magic Keyboard. Countless times I've placed my iPhone or Airpods on top of my closed Magic Keyboard and thought how great it would be if they began charging. Maybe even allow for some low voltage charging straight from the iPad's power reserve for when you desperately need a boost.
Even as an Apple fan, this is ridiculous. Here's a $130 wireless charger, with NO power brick to actually charge your devices. This is just stupid.
Not enough benefits to justify the cost. If it were like 80$, then I’d be more tempted to replace my current setup

It is for travel, minimal footprint, that’s what this is for and that’s what you pay for, convenience.

The best accessory I had so far.
I think it’s expensive but worth it, my £40 wireless charger is big and clunky with no MagSafe, extremely hard to take when travelling without breaking the wireless charging phone stand. This one folds up into such a small form factor, has MagSafe so it’s always a plus, can be used with just one side, fits into my pocket, and works off lightning which I always have so for me it’s a yes 🤷🏽♂️

I’m sick of lightning already, everything is usb c. If they are planning to get rid of charging port from iPhone next year, why this thing has Lightning? And they write, that use 30w adaptor, which has ... usb c!

Ik. Xiaomi has 120W fast wired charging that comes on the box, but Apple has you pay $129 extra for a magsafe duo and has 8 1/2 times slower charging.

100% worth it. It’s so nice aesthetically and for actual use just get home and pop your phone and watch on it.
I have just sent mine back. Repeatedly doesn’t charge my phone. I get upto 35% on an overnight charge. Will be going back to my £10 trusty non brand from Amazon!

I got my wireless charger at ichargers.co and its great. You can charger your phone, watch and airpods for 30-15 minutes. My recommendation.

You don't need the USBC Power Adapter if u use a MacBook Pro 2016 or later or a Computer with USBC Ports or the Apple XDR Display or A Anker Power outlet that has a USBC and 2 Regular USB ports
I got a knock off on an Amazon for $30 it looks the exact same and came with us 20 w adapter to works fine
Sent MagSafe Duo Charger back to Apple today as my Tesla can wifi charge my iPhone XS with its protection back cover on but Apples MagSafe Duo Charger will not so I have to remove the cover each time so might as well go back to plugging the phone in and not have the hassle for such an expensive wifi charger.

Does the charger need to be plugged in to use it ?
Don't like the floppy design and obviously the lack of a wall plug adaptor is ridiculous and brings that cost to to just under $150 or more. Problem with the iPhone magsafe is that the magnetic attraction is too weak, unlike the watch it doesn't just snap on, especially if you have a case on (even a thin one).
Is there a way to have the phone charge while tilted like it’s sitting on a dock, or does it have to lay flat?

So I have a lightning to usb, a usbc to usbc, a usbc to usb charging cable but no usbc to lightning but I’ll need it for this? Which means I can’t use the one I would get with this for any of my other products or narrow any of them down so you know I could make everything more minimal and portable?! The reason someone would get this?! Apple can we just decide on one connection!!

Yes it’s worth it. I’ve had all sorts of chargers and this is the best period if you have an Apple Watch this is a no brainer and to travel I mean there’s no beating it and it’s top quality
depends on you band. If you have a band that doesn't easily split like any of the loop bands, this charger is a PITA because you have to pass the band under the charger, then it sits awkwardly and sometimes detaches itself if you try connecting it too quick and dont pay enough attention to how the band is resting underneath.
I tried to use my Anker iq 26800 portable charger and it also provides fast charging but this MagSafe Duo Charger wont work with it??? Or do I have a malfunctioned MagSafe?

I’ll stick with the standard Apple Watch charger and use my Anker double plug and charge my iPhone with my 6ft cable.
If they release a model compatible with type C, at least I can put in my bag one adapter and cable for all my apple devices, I hope there is a third party did this

A waste of $129 for me. I have a charging stand that I bought for my original Apple Watch that is still perfectly good. And I keep a wallet case on my iPhone 12 Pro Max that I’d have to remove each time I want to charge.
