The Anker 623 is MagSafe compatible while the Anker Cube is true MagSafe Certified. The 623 is just the qi charger (7.5w) with magnets like companies are doing while the Anker Cube is true MagSafe (15w). This is why Apple sells the Anker cube but didn't sell the 623. Also there Anker Cube is now $129.99 everywhere.
Hi Brian Great video. I’m curious what kind of charging speeds you’re getting with it? I’m loving mine. Putting all three things on there at night and knowing they are all going to be charged in the morning is great. No more cords and wall outlets everywhere. Plus is the best for it shape and size for travelling. However I do find it charges my 15 pro max kinda slowly. So I’m curious what kind of times your getting when your charging your phone on it. Either by itself or with other devices on it. Thanks!
Thank you! The charging speeds are on par with Apple’s MagSafe, because it has the official MagSafe technology in it. So you’ll be getting 15w wireless charging. Dead to full will take about 2-2.5 hours.
Great video, I have one of these picked up @ BB for $115 & think I will be returning it. The aw slide out just feels flimsy & cheap imo & almost an after-thought. Everything else about this is absolutely premium w/ the exception of the pop-out watch charger. Thoughts? I am concerned this is a durability issue in the future.
I haven’t seen anyone have any issues with it. I personally don’t mind the Apple Watch slider and I don’t think it will break. I’d say just don’t yank it out hard when pulling it out and it’ll be fine. Plus if you have an Apple Watch, I wouldn’t even close it unless you’re packing it up to take it somewhere. Otherwise I’d always leave it open.
Additionally it does indeed take about twice as long to charge my awu2 than the original MagSafe charger that came w/ @ purchase. I am stunned as I just placed my watch on this & its almost completely charged from 38% in well under an hour; this would never be the case w/ my cube.@@Brians_tech
Hi Brian, I had this cube for 2 weeks now and it is a pleasure using it, charge 3 devices simultaneously, very very compact. My desk is super clean and organize now, no more extra cables and power bricks lying around.
Thank you for the content! What about the heat during the charging? Does it damaging the battery life on medium - long term period? Im scared about the about (even if the output is only 15W) meanwhile the apple oiriginal charger is 20W. Thank you in advance for your response!
So this is actually sold by Apple as well. It’s got the technology in it that Apple’s MagSafe chargers do, so it will protect it the battery. For me, it hasn’t really been getting any warmer than the regular Apple MagSafe charger, so I don’t think that’s something you have to worry about. I see a lot of people have been using it and loving it. I hope that answers your question, and thank you so much for watching!
Great video Brian. I wanted to pick this up when it came out but didn't pull the trigger. Now I tend to think there are several better chargers for travel, the ESR 3-in1 comes to mind. I am currently waiting on the ESR 6-in-1 charger. I'm hoping it will solve my problem of charging 2 phones, apple watch, earbuds, ipad and headphones all at once. What do you think?
You can’t go wrong with the ESR charger either. For charging 2 phones at once, the Anker cube isn’t it. No way a 2nd phone will fit on the back charging pad where the AirPods go. So if you want to charge 2 at once, I’d say either ESR or Belkin 3 in 1
Yo B good video. I always wonder if those are Apple specific or will they work with Android products too? Hope you have been enjoying the holidays my guy
Thank you bro! It should work with Android devices too, you just gotta have a magsafe case for it. For the watch part, I'm not sure. I would be interested to find out though. Hope your holidays are going well also!
The Samsung or pixel watches will not charge on the watch portion of the device. However with a MagSafe case it works perfect as well as the wireless head phone charger.
Hi. Are they different models ? Is there a newer version of the cube. Wondering why it is so much more expensive on the Apple website vs Amazon? Thanks
It should. As long as it's wireless charging compatible, it'll be fine. I have another video for another 3-in-1 coming out today that you might like as well. Make sure to check it out!
Nice product but it definitely doesn’t fast charge an Apple Watch like it says that it will. Contacted Anker and they provided no assistance. I was a little disappointed in the response that I received from them.
@@Brians_tech that’s what I thought too. Some folks say that it will fast charge but it definitely didn’t fast charge my ultra 2. Maybe I just got a defective model.
@@Brians_tech I now use the Belkin Boost⬆️ charge pro 3-in-1 wireless charging stand with MagSafe. Works great and definitely fast charges my ultra 2. The Anker cube did charge my series 7 faster than the ultra, which is to be expected. The Belkin is way faster.
@@Oharsh0928 I saw a comment on Verizon and their website that’s also selling it and someone commented that if you attach a 45 W charger to it it will fast charge Apple Watch Ultra
Nice video Brian, I’ve had this charger since its release and it’s my favorite one because of its build and compact size. Doesn’t take up space on my night stand and fits my buds, watch ultra 2 and phone on very easy. I like it because it’s not all long and tall like a lot of these vertical night stand chargers.
Everyone talks about fast, but we need a time scale, otherwise it's like driving a car without a speedometer e.g. x mins to charge three products from zero to 100%, y mins for each product separately, or "fast " is meaningless. I nearly bought this, but your demonstration of weak magnet strength demo dissuaded me. Many thanks for that.
I think it has to do with the strength, but also the material of the pad on the charger. On the 623 it’s more of a silicone material so provides better grip whereas on the cube it’s more plasticky
@@Brians_techOne manufacturer supplied this info, and their charger was much slower than the charger supplied with the product, and was as expensive as the Cube charger. My search continues for the real thing a "FAST" charger.
@terrydavis1488 so with Qi2 now, the iPhone gets the full 15w charging speed. It’s not much compared to android, but better than 7.5. I just got Anker’s newest charger they just released the other day. It’s a Qi2 charger. I’m going to do my review on it this week so stay tuned to that!

It isn't worth half of what it costs... I will never reward massive overpricing.
Same
I am regreting on buying it really ?

WOW! That was quick! Yeah I don't open & close it but placing a awu2 on it is def flexing it (weight wise)... Again, great video. @@Brians_tech

I've got the anker cube and can confirm that it works with other earbuds that is wireless charging compatible.

Love your videos btw🙌🏼

I most certainly will!
Ok for travel I guess but I ended up picking up the Twelve South HiRise Deluxe 3 for my bedside and will continue to use the MagSafe Duo for travel
I like that it’s not bulky like most 3 in 1 chargers.
If just only came in white or Silver like the MacBooks
It’s the best charger that I have ever had.
