i rather use gaius as the evasion tank, sure he cant counter if he doesnt have the range but the scraft delay combo keeps recharging + true headband (+60%cp). But if we are comparing the sara is better than fie because of the self insight.
Rean's mainly there to range impede the enemy and provide support... in that regard he's got brigid/minotauros for MQ and then grail thelas for the stats and an ultimate healing source in case of emergency then a mars gem, carnelia gem, and w/e rises his attack stat (suzaku, attack 3, tamamo, nightmare 3) also a few speed+cp generation accessories and the black zemurian ore tachi. at this point in the game u could have Rean as an evasion tank in the front, then ditch fie and bring another arts user like muse with the same setup as Emma for double the fun and damage add in a 0 EP order and nothing stands in the way for too long. oh i should also add that i changed Emma's setup a little bit she nows have a diabolos gem and the quick caliber v accessory with that she mostly insta-cast arts with the same crit damage as b4.

Gaius was only an evasion tank in CS1. He's a lot better as a main damage dealer in the later games

Even on VERY easy mode lv 200 ONLY Str setups are worth it.
