I wonder how Tesla investors make the case for buying shares of the company at about $250. Given the riskiness, I would imagine they are looking for an CAGR of at least 10%p.a. on average. Otherwise might as well just put it into 'safer' investments, right?
10% CAGR over a 10-year horizon means $250 should become $648. But with EPS around $3-5, where is the growth going to come from? At $648, the car business should probably only represent 5-10% of revenue, but yet most talk of the growth of the company was centered around Cybertruck and the supposed Model 2. That's essentially "car company" kind of talk.
If Tesla indeed turns out to be just a car company, and even if they deliver as many vehicles as Toyota (which is a tall order), their current share price of $140+ seems overvalued.
Even Fixed Deposit or Treasury Bills give a better return 😂

When Elon was making fun of BYD cars...it was because they really are a joke then...
That was at least 5 years ago, and BYD have vastly improved, so he acknowledged that they are a fierce rival...

And so many ppl poke fun if Tesla back in 2017, 2018 saying it is going to fail. Then Tesla suddenly became the biggest EV maker and has the highest Net Profit Margin of any car company (with zero long term debt), while the rest of the industry is losing thousands of dollars for every EV they are selling.

REITs dropped a lot last week too! No need to look elsewhere. I think once people realize the rate cut is not coming anytime soon, we'll see bluechip REITs dropping like flies

Can you show your brokerage returns so we can see you make a profit dividend investing? They should have a performance section for last 3 years since you are supposedly making so much money and you got it all figured out not buying any growth stocks. Last time I looked the biggest returns in the stock market over the last 20 years is from growth stocks and the biggest losers in the stock market were reit type dividend paying stocks. The people that dividend invested only lost money over the last 20 years. Id like to see proof of how genius you are. Show us from your brokerage performance I am sure you can screen shot it to show proof.

Here I feel the mass medias are taking cheap shorts. The video of Elon poking fun of BYD was from.... 2012 (BYD was making crappy cars back then). In the last few years he had commented that the competition from Chinese car companies are very intense and real. Nobody remembers that. Anyway both BYD and Tesla are great companies (valuation is a different story).

I did the math 1-2 years back and alibaba fair value was $62 hkd so i think its quite close to fair value, tesla is quite above fair value . If we looked at 30 years history, apple,stellantis had depressed p/e from time to time, we should wait for the right opportunity to invest
