With regards to the registration act: If I don't remember it wrong, it wasn't about saying in public who you were and where you lived. It was about just registering with SHIELD and revealing your identity to Tony Stark. This actually makes really pointless the entire event
Since all y’all were so kind to fulfill my recommendation with uzumaki last episode. Would imperius Rex being interested in the incal by Jodorowsky and Moebius or black hammer by Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston?
World War hulk proves right away that hero vs. Hero events are a nice variety change but a horrible go to plot for an event. Its so forced and unnecessary. Also don't worry about Crisp Rat. By the first Annihilation Star Lord didn't even come close to resembling the movie version. Annihilation is usually considered the zenith of event comics, so I'm excited for you guys to read it.
Avengers Initiative was an excellent series. It focuses on the training of those state teams. Lots of focus on characters who don't usually get it like Taskmaster and Eric O'Grady Antman. It's culmination in Siege is one of my favourite books.
As one of those three podcast listeners this is a welcome surprise. I will however admit, not the biggest fan of Civil War. Of the 2 big events of that era, Annihilation seems more my style. It did however shake things up and I appreciate that, it just seemed way too Millarish and definitely would have fit better in the Ultimate universe, what with their nigh constant infighting. Steve McNiven's art was kickass though! And the game adaptation of this, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 was phenomenal as was the MCU movie! So really... The comic is in my opinion where you shouldn't go for this story... EDIT: It is shockingly easy to make Reed Richards an absolute wanker. But he's not like... Xavier, I genuinely believe he's trying to help. Not in this book. Purely into escalating the suffering of his friends. He's basically the Maker.
I agree characters act out of character to advance the plot but when I hear people like Kevin Smith say that Cap and Iron man should be on the opposite sides I have to call bullshit. Caps a constitutionalist and Tony is a futurist. The concept of people with powers being forced to register as well as being trained by Shield even if they don’t want to use their powers at all is unconstitutional. You don’t have to get a license if you don’t want to drive. Great episode guys. Plus I remember initiative being really fun. It’s two huge trades but I remember really enjoying them. Dan Slott does a great job on them.
