    The action comics run by PKJ is freaking awesome and badass.

    I actually kinda like that quote by Grant about younger creators. It's definitely worded with a bit of a more cynical bent; but I feel eventually Grant will say it the way I heard it which is "The people who've read my stuff have made all that weirdness normal in comics." Morrison has become the status quo. Which is cool. And leaves it open for someone to get even weirder.

    It’s crazy that a person that looks so much like Lex Luthor has such an appreciation for Superman (no offense to Grant)

      How heavy a role do the new Authority play in this run?

    • @godofthemonotone
      @godofthemonotone ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ImperiusRex they play a decent sized role, Midnighter, steel and Omac get the most play, but the Superman in that run reads very much in line with the Superman from Grant's story

    I really hope this is not Grant Morrison's actual last DC book. I'd love for him to work write a Green Arrow story, seems like a pretty good match to me and would be something totally new cause I don't think he ever worked on Green Arrow

    I love this when it came out, the war World was greate at the begining I think it went to long. But the first issue we see a sup still hope full even when defeted and has very good writing on his way of thinking.

    Its a shame that its a tie in to a larger storyline. Mike janin's art looks pretty stiff

    I hated dc 5G because it sounded like a garbage idea from the very beginning and to make it worse that thing was supposed to have Superman Clark Kent and Jon Kent Superboy kill each other. Which is why I am happy that grant Morrison didn’t do that horrible dan didio idea and have are Superman be the Superman I know and love and kick add and save the day with Superman and the authority in my opinion.

    Love the review. You've already got me revisiting The Invisibles, and now I have to go re-read Superman and the Authority.
    You hit the nail on the head with the Golden Age tone you were picking up here. I was reading this as it came out while ALSO reading the 1st GA Superman Omnibus, and Grant is VERY MUCH (probably quite consciously to re-read them talk about the Man of Tomorrow in Supergods) channeling the Ur-Superman here. I think the same could be said of their use of the character in their other Superman and adjacent works (e.g. Action Comics, All-Star, Final Crisis, JLA, etc).
