  • Iran has some of the craziest laws and strictest laws in the world.
    In this video, we want to tell you more about the current protests in Iran and show you how we accidentally broke 5 illegal laws in Iran and how it could have resulted in VERY harsh penalties.

    HELLO THERE:
    We are Joe and Liisu, relatively new to TH-cam but really excited to be a part of this community. We live small and sustainably in my home on wheels (a lovely van called Freyja) and from time to time out of our backpacks (we have not named the backpacks yet). On this channel, we ask you to join us on our travel adventures off the beaten track where we show you the beauty of untouched nature and wander into places most tourists don't dare to go.

    The best video about Iran's situation and traveling in it I'v ever seen! We're really glad to find out people around the world who sincerely try to share our voice to others and show what is the truth...
    I hope one day comes that all local people reach what they want and tourists can visit our country without being involved with these ridiculous laws! ❤❤

    I lived in Iran and things you said really surprised me tbh. I am sure you noticed half of the things you said are not actually happening in ordinary streets of Tehran or any other cities. I know numerous people who dated in iran or had crazy haircuts haha

    • @WildVikingTravels
      @WildVikingTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely it differs in different cities in Iran and areas as well. It is different what is law and what is followed by the people in every single city or village. Some cities were more liberal, some were extremely conservative. The same goes for locals, some say dating is allowed in their community, other condemn it and say that it would put their life in danger.

    • @amirmk725
      @amirmk725 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@WildVikingTravels not really tbh. Sure some cities have different style of dating or marriage which is unique to their culture. Also just take a look at how many educated women are there in Iran and how well they are respected. I dont support the dress code but we have to be fair. 51% of college students are women in Iran and there are countless female doctors and engineers. Actually if you lool at the government list of officials there are women among the lawmakers as well. Obviously there are gender inequality in the whole world and Iran is not an exemption. But it's absolutely nothing like what you said. Just take a look at all the other TH-cam travelers who traveled to Iran. It's nothing like what the media says about it.

      It's because they're portraying an unrealistic image of Iran.

    • @amirmk725
      @amirmk725 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@K55365 yeaa totally
      Iran is nothing like what they are saying. Indeed it's the opposite of it. It has its own unique culture. Just because some people chose to stay with their tradition and not follow the western way of doing anything.doesnt mean it's a bad thing. Based on my own experience in Iran, in some cities there are young people who prefer the dating approach of finding their partner, while other cities they like to stick to the traditional way such introduction through family framework and dating under that framework before marriage. There is absolutely nothing wrong with either ways.
      Educate yourself about actual data on women achievements in Iran. (Not the data from main stream media) and you be surprised how educated and well respected women are in Iranian society

      Those fuc*ing rules never be changed cus these rules extracted from the Sharia, and its been fixed for 1400
      years from the beginning of Islam!
      This is the result of Arab's invasion on Iran and still you can see the same rules in many Islamic countries. But I believe these ridiculous rules will be thrown away soon with the courageous Iraninan women.✌

    I grew up in iran , in a middle class family , breaking all those laws , same with all my friends and everyone I know ... them being laws doesn't mean we don't have our normal lives or are not humans ... stop making controversy.. people are people even if governments suck

    • @WildVikingTravels
      @WildVikingTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I totally agree but for iran to be free once more world needs to understand what is actually happening there and for many of those laws people are getting punished day after day.

    • @yasik3613
      @yasik3613 ปีที่แล้ว

      @WildVikingTravels well my entire point is that Iranian men are just as oppressed as women , even more , there are a lot of unfair laws for men as well that I can elaborate if u want ... I'm so proud of most Iranian men , because although they can take advantage of the anti-women laws , they don't do it, and they actually encourage their daughters to study and be independent and try their best to protect women from the IR ... and when ur girlfriend said women can not do anything without men it's not true, because more girls go to college than boys and usually they have to live independent in other cities for college, people still date and even live with their boyfriends, it's called white marriage , really not many women marry at 14 unless it's in a far tribal or villages on the borders, like zahedan ... I have so many female friends who are 30 , and living by themselves... so it's not fair to say women can not do anything without men... rules are rules but who cares ? I understand you are sharing ur experience, but you should consider that Iranians have 2 lives , one is what appears and the other is underground

    • @WildVikingTravels
      @WildVikingTravels  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do get your point!
      Everyone in Iran is oppressed, but you do understand that the only way to change the situation is to talk about it.
      I also understand that some points in the video are made bigger then they are in real life, but they are still laws that people get punished for EVERY DAY.
      people get MURDERED for breaking those laws.
      And you are trying to tell me that "rules are rules but who cares?"
      Are you kidding me.
      You tell me that you are Iranian but from the way you talk you have not been there for years. Those people who day by day put their lives in danger would be deeply ashamed of you. They showed me the scars on their body where they pulled out bullets that were shot at them in the last Protests and they had to do it in their kitchen because they were afraid that the doctor would be pro government and they would end up in prison...
      Like really what is your point: that things in Iran are good and that it is ok that the laws give the government ability to "legally" murder their own people???

    • @yasik3613
      @yasik3613 ปีที่แล้ว

      @WildVikingTravels again , true , again, I hate government, and I do agree things suck , that's why I live outside of Iran, what I'm saying is that Iranians as a society , both men and women , are not as backwards as u perceived, at least in the cities , they are trying their best ... ur girlfriend says Iranian men ignored her and didn't shake hand with her ... or refused to talk to her ... and I'm saying that's ur experience, there's so much into it that could be analyzed from different aspects, where have u been? What subculture? What city? What was their religion? What was their language? What was the situation? What age group? How did your girl treated men to get ignored? What was she wearing?These are all factors that affects ur experience and doesn't mean that all Iranian men are assholes .. but now that we are having a conversation, I do apologize for attacking u, and I will delete most of my comments

      From someone who lived in Iran. I can say most of the things they say was under the influence of the recent propaganda pushed on Iran. My relatives have dogs in Tehran and still do. No one killed them lol😂 no one even cared haha. Don't believe what you hear about Iran. I grew up playing with my cousin's dog in Iran.
      The thing is If something small happens in Iran, it will be all over the world media. But when something crazy happens in USA, no one hears about it. Did you know UK has one of the highest sexual assault rates? Or slavery is still legal in US prisons? But imagine something like that happens in Iran. The whole media would be all over it.
      My dear friend, do not fall for the propaganda pushed on Iran.

    I don't know where the heck you went inside Iran to have these funny observations. Those laws you mentioned may be the written rules of sharia law in Iran but it is far from the reality of what is happening on the ground. At the end of this text, I will share a video recorded a couple of days ago in Tehran in which you can see clearly couples holding hands and lots of unmarried or better to say boyfriend and girlfriend having fun in coffee shops and shopping malls in Tehran. I don't want to say it is as free as western countries, but most definitely it is not as grim as you pictured in your videos. Actually, I was laughing throughout the video at such a shortsighted view of Iranian society. those things you have described may be the government's wishes to implement in society but, we, Iranians will do whatever in our power to live as we wish and not according to the government's standard but according to ours. I hope you will have a happier and better time next time you come to Iran. look at this video to see another side of Iranian society which apparently you didn't see. th-cam.com/video/TlbWVyNfAjk/w-d-xo.html

      Ma olen 20 aasta vältel käinud korduvalt Iraanis ja see tänavapilt, mida ka teie eelmises videos oli vilksamisi näha, on täielik ulme võrreldes varasemate aastatega. Täielikult ilma peakatteta naine tänaval on olnud seni ilmvõimatu. Vaid jupike rätti kuskil juustel vms, jah, seda on nähtud. Aga see, mida selle talve videodes näeb, oli ilmvõimatu isegi Rouhani ajal. Meilt sinna esimest korda minnes ei saa tõenäoliselt selle tähendusest nii hästi aru, aga võrreldes kõige varasemaga on lõpuks saavutatud väike tükike vabadusest. Ja näha neid naisi kõndimas ilma peakatteta vormis meeste läheduses, see on tõesti ulme Iraani mõistes.

    As I know these 1st 4 crime doesn't lead to death penalty. Death by stoning is for married people. And it's not only for woman. It's same for men. And other things don't have death penalty in Islam.
    And death by stoning is also common in Christianity and Judaism.

    83 dollar for 4 family members I calculated and realized that after 83 years, if we don't eat anything at all and don't spend any money from our income, we can buy a 100-meter house.

    Stoning is an Islamic rule when a married man or woman have sex with someone else but it is not applied in Iran I have never seen or heard of, dating and having girlfriend or bf is illegal but people don't care about this law😂

    ❌For me, who is Iranian
    , many of the things you say make me burst out laughing 🤣It's true that very nasty behaviors like French kissing and sex are prohibited in the middle of the street, but you can do whatever you want in a place like your home with your wife or girlfriend, which unfortunately has become popular among Iranian youth. Holding the hand of your wife or girlfriend and even making love is not a whip 😵 Now almost everyone in Iran does this, even religious people hold hands and put their hand on their wife's shoulder and hug her.
    ❌If you don't wear a hijab, they will ban you from medical services and is it considered a form of blackmail??😐😂 Dear friend, first of all, this case does not happen 99% of the time, and if it happens, even in the strictest possible case, just a simple reminder. It is a language that may occur in a small number of places. When someone tells you at the entrance of a place, you are really beautiful, lady, and you look more beautiful with a scarf, please put on your scarf to enter the collection. The way you express this issue reminds me of the arrest of American students and professors by their brutal policemen.
    ❌If you have a dog, can the opposition kill it?!!!!!!😑 Dear friend, these are the dogs that people bring to the parks for a walk, and sometimes children and people gather around them and play with them. What is ???!!! You described Iran in such a dark and brutal way that I was really shocked. Dear friend, first of all, welcome to our country and we are glad that you are our guest. Secondly, you apparently confused Iran with Afghanistan and the Taliban government. It is true that in Iran we have a series of family disputes to cover, which is more like a war between siblings, but when someone from outside wants to attack us, we are behind each other and support each other.
    ❌The main misfortune of the Iranian people is the endless American sanctions that have paralyzed the economy and daily life in Iran. It is even forbidden to import medicines that we cannot produce ourselves, and many patients, including children, have a painful life and die because of this. You describe Iran so scary. Also mention about the solitary and terrible prison that America and some European countries built for Iran. Please, my friendly advice to you is to judge only the events that you have seen in Iran, not this. which you have heard from some foreign sellers and foreign media.
    ❌I spent a lot of time to explain the reality and I hope that it will be useful and destroy this negative energy and fear and hatred that you have created towards Iran. Iran has been sanctioned and isolated enough by the superpowers because it does not want to become a colony of America and lose its oil and soil for free. Please don't continue to sanction Iran. You have shown such a negative and scary atmosphere from Iran that no more tourists dare to come to Iran and you have actually hit the boycott of our tourist industry. And Iranians have something called the sanctity of bread and salt, that is, when you go somewhere and they do you a favor, it is not right to forget all the kindness after leaving there.
    ❌And dear friends who saw this video, please also visit the pages of other friends who traveled to Iran and don't judge Iran only by this video.
    thank you 🙏🌱

    I am glad that you are safe. The people of Iran are brave people who fight. Be sure to search for the word Mahsa Amini and Khodanour Lajehi and investigate how they were innocently martyred. In the last 3 months, we have given 600 martyrs in the way of freedom. Unfortunately, Mahsa Amini is a 22-year-old girl. In the last 5 months, he lost his life for the mandatory hijab, and a heroic Baloch man named Khudanoor Lejai was tied to a pole and beaten and starved to death because he protested and in Balochistan on an autumn day when It is known as Bloody Friday. After the Friday prayer, government forces killed 100 people and made them martyrs

    A few things to know about iran:
    1-Tourist who got arrested during protests mostly were spy agents who tryed to find rebels in country in some crazy ways....
    and i can send the link of full documentary video of fake tourists if you want
    2- if you go to big cities in iran most of laws can be broken and goverment will not care(tabriz,tehran,shiraz)
    3- expect having alcohol or swiming in sea everything you did was totally fine and even with those things you did after you comeback to iran they dont care because goverment just like those things that you did to attract some tourists in country(i am serious)😂

    I never disagreed with your videos before but this takes the cake. TBH how you try to input “western” society ideology into a country that’s has the total opposite culture, law and religion is so distasteful. Instead of understanding the true reason n story behind the laws u mentioned, u just simply try to paint the oppressive side of it. Yes keeping dogs as pets is forbidden in islam but it’s permissible if the dog is treated as a guard dog or a working dog. Not just as an animal that u pamper and live the rest of it’s life satisfying human’s need of companionship. Please read up on Islam. U might understand some of the laws. The dress code is to help keep women’s modesty and that helps with keeping men’s horrible trait of lust and sexual wants at bay. God knows how strong men’s sexual desire are, so such laws like man has to lower their gaze away from women is there. There’s a bigger picture to every law in Islam. Yes, some punishment is very extreme like stoning but that rarely happens. Let me ask u, if the punishment is very light, would you take the law seriously? I extremely urge you to learn the bigger picture rather than just inputting ur own western ideology in someone else’s home. This is probably why Iran didn’t want westerners to come in and “expose” their laws. Cause u guys never try to truly understand with open minds and heart. u guys turn around and try to paint negative images. But saying all this yes there’s improvements to be made. I wished you guys would had try to understand the true Islamic laws further.

    • @KnocknockCraftworks

      This was very similar to how you tried with MALDIVES’s law on not allowing bikini on their beaches. Don’t just say oh because they’re muslims. Yes duhh… that’s true but search deeper to why Islam doesn’t allow revealing clothes. The law doesn’t only apply to women. Man has similar limitations to what they must wear. Keeping their modesty is very important to women and laws in islam helps to protect women. Sharia law is in placed to help guide muslims led an Ethical life. Even when laws are broken, there must be a very high bar of evidence that must be met before any punishment is carried out.(rarely such harsh punishments are carried out) but Sadly ALL humans are prone to corruption, greed and injustice(which it isn’t the teaching of Islam)

    Tourism has negative impacts. The couple overlooked locals’ culture and traditions only because they think as Europeans, they can do whatever they want. I just hope locals of Southern provinces of Iran won’t see the records of breaking local rules and traditions. Southern Iranian communities will lose their trust in all European tourists. It is not considered appropriate by Southern Iranians to have women half naked swimming in their sea. This is their lands and their wishes count; not that of European tourists. Even Iranian tourists respect Southern locals’ traditions and culture, thought they all belong to the same country. Locals even prohibit tourist men from swimming in the sea because of sharks. Very basics of responsible tourism are ignored by this couple.
