i got in contact with dmp right before you put this video out for b8 a4, I ultimately ended up going with a digital rear view mirror that ill be installing monday!
If you install the rear camera DIRECT to the windshield you run the risk of upcoming problems when you turn on the heated rear window, 🤔I would suggest mounting it direct to the rear headlining away from the windshield 👍👍👍
How were you able to create the room between the headliner and the windshield? Looks like you got plenty of space to tuck in the wires. On my B8.5 Allroad, there's virtually no flexibility there.
Hey, Just found your channel and I have just bought a blackvue 750X plus 2Ch And I have an Audi A4 Avant 3.2 Q 2008 and I was wondering where the best place is to put the dash cam itself and I know that is obvious but I've got a Japanese black box just to the left of the rear view mirror high up on the windscreen that apparently was for toll bridges and is pretty useless in New Zealand so I have a choice of putting the dash cam directly under where you've just put your one or to the left of the center and up a bit just under the black box sensor So it would be slightly to the left of center but higher up and I know that you can swivel the camera for good picture but I've never had a dashcam before And I'm not hard wiring it at the moment but just wanted to get it all set up correctly because there's some crazy tailgaters around the joint and I don't know what it is I mean I had new cars before but it would seem that this Aruba blue Audi is a magnet for intimidation but where do you think would be the best place to put this dash cam and then obviously I have the rear one to do. I've connected to the blackvue app and have updated the firmware and I've got a picture on my A71 Samsung and I'm hoping that you will see this message cuz I want to get it on before the end of the weekend. It's a stunning vehicle 150k on the clock and it's had new everything was from a connoisseur and I wasn't particularly looking for an Audi but I have a 2010 caravan and needed to take all the boxes to tow my caravan and this came up and I bought it but goodness gracious I am blown away with the pristine above and beyond awesomeness of just everything it's just amazing and I did work for Ford and Vauxhall in the UK for 13 years way back in the '80s and '90s but even though I drove new cars every day in the days of Sierra cosworths and Vauxhall senators and Vauxhall Astra GTEs I've never ever driven such a powerful pristine vehicle as this Audi I am just absolutely amazed absolutely although it took some getting used to lol. But anyway I've written a book but this place for the front dash cam directly underneath the mirror or to the left of it and higher up about three or four inches from the top of the windscreen. Hi there great video, I was hoping that you might be able to help me with the wires on my dashcam colours on the "Hard Wire Unit" this will be an addition to my Audi A3 1.9Tdi 09 plate This is for a front & rear cam setup. Black is marked GND which I take to be NEGATIVE Red is marked ACC which I am thinking might be POSITIVE when the ignition is ON Yellow is marked B+ 2103 🤔🤔🤔🤔 might be NEGATIVE when the ignition is OFF Have I got that correct 🤔🤔🤔
Do you actually disconnect your battery every time you do anything electrical or is it just a disclaimer? I have seen numerous things about disconnecting the battery and issues that will happen with the cars computer if you do that. So are you using a memory saver the entire time? It just seems like a bunch of nonsense to go through all that to disconnect the battery
I’m not gonna tell you how to work on your car but I wouldn’t arbitrarily put stuff in my video if I don’t practice it. If you think what I do is nonsense, then so be it. Im not asking you to follow what i do. In my videos, i show what i do and that’s all i can do. I’m not going to risk ruining my car or burning it down and possibly getting shock.
I disconnected my battery for a full week when I replaced my timing chain. When I hooked it back up there was zero difference. Everything was stored, radio channels, seat positions, preferences...
Every individual fuse port has a hot side and a cold side. When a fuse is plugged into the port, power will flow from the hot side, then thru the fuse, and then to the cold side. If a fuse blows, power can no longer flow from the hot side to the cold side. On my fuse panel, every fuse port has the hot side as the right side, and the cold side as the left side. The “fuse with the red wire” has to be plugged in so the red wire is on the left side (cold side). So if there’s ever an issue or malfunction with the dashcam that causes the fuse to blow, power will no longer flow to the red wire back to the camera. This prevents a spark, or unwanted power flowing to a defective electronic device. If power still flowed, it could cause a spark or fire to the camera. Go google how fuse works. It explains exactly how it all works. If you don’t know what you’re doing, seek a professional to do your wiring.
Haha. Really? Maybe for a country outside the US that requires dashcams. How is someone smashing into your car and you getting footage of it is not valid just cause it doesn’t have gps.
Not really. Airbags blow at an incredible amount of force and speed. A little thin wire isn’t gonna affect it. I would recommend tucking the wires outta the way if your worried.

The heating element is not hot enough to affect the mounting tape of the camera or affect the performance of the camera. I know first hand.

What you mean? It’s in the link. If you can’t find it, just message DMP and they’ll hook you up. They carry a lot of products not on their website.

Should be since this is the B8.5 so it's just a facelift. Fuses should be the same (unless Audi likes to play tricks on us).
