what happened to CarVertical
5:41 there's missing bolt Matt
If anyone is wondering how he got 18% profit, he did it my using a very very simple formula which anyone in sales knows. Sell price - cost price ÷ by sell price.
This is NOT the same as cost price x 18%.
Hi Matt, do the sponsors of your channel contact you, or do you or your team contact them.
I'm just being nosy 😮
Thanks.
I thought you were sponsored by Tommy Hilfiger!
Not trashed, not disgusting inside, no exploded gearbox or engine. What a rare find.
Is it common to have engine issues on this mark/model of the A4? What are issues to be aware of?
@@muhammad-azeemsunderji3504Diesel with a manual gearbox and you’ve got yourself a keeper
@@triv_gtrue! Our 02 reg 1.9tdi Audi A4 Avant has 348,000 miles but sadly won’t pass its next MOT due to rusted underbody. Engine still pulls strongly though!
@@triv_gI wouldn’t want a manual in a barge like this personally. That said I know they’re less likely to go wrong
right It almost looks FAKE lol
It's incredible how much difference it makes when someone actually looks after their car.
5:28 I spy a missing wheel bolt!
I thought that too.
And me.😊
Think it's just the plastic covers missing
Good spot.
this era of vw group was the best in my opinion. Perfect combination of simplistic design while still looking modern and premium.
Yes. Not an Audi fan but they had the brilliant yeti, the clever roomster, the suave CC and the Scirocco
Yes I'm thinking of getting an A6 next as l had an A4 and Passat cc and both been excellent
id love a scirocco but theyre quite pricey@@MotorTorq_ZA
agree. they age quite well
but with the Chain issues and Oil consumption issues of the TFSI and the "diesel gate" engines 2008 - 2013 is basically a big "No No Zone"
Regular viewer from South Africa here. I love comparing the cars with the equivalent models in South Africa. Awesome channel!
"The paint could do with a good buff. Needs new reg plates." I always like a nice clean A4. Still very classy and getting increasingly underrated in the shadow of the current Q-Series line-up.
I drive this very car.....2.0tdi on 177bhp with a cvt, 133k miles, leather....stone cold a/c, 2014. It's never put a foot wrong, utterly reliable, although I replaced the rear wiper assembly last year. Still drives straight, bags of power and decent economy.
Same 2011 143bhp 2.0tdi CVT and it's been great. At 129k miles. Everyone says the CVT is unreliable, not in my experience, touchwood.
It’s a heavy car with only 177bhp, it doesn’t have “bags of power” 🤣🤣 reliable yes but not powerful.
@@ryanb4046 Dunno, I guess its all relative. For me, a quality, well-built car with a huge load area, excellent reliability and 0-60 in 8.5 secs while still averaging 45mpg is more than adequate. In sport mode it will safely overtake everything I need to overtake. Top speed is.....plenty :)
I dont think anyone would need more on today's roads? But maybe you disagree, and thats fine, crack on.
Same here , mine is Quattro with 175 k Km .But 3 months after i bought it i did a long trip and after 3k km gearbox problems ,the multitronic is a Bitch in this models costed me 2k in repairs .Other than that it drives perfectly wouldnt change it.
@@ryanb4046 has a good amount of torque 😉
Great result Matt. I love the Audi A4 Avant. Shde looks great and someone is going to get a super, fully sorted quality car. Bravo!!
A High Peak Autos drinking game writes itself! Love this format
Matt, the control arm bushings on these can be pressed out. The arms themselves don’t have to be repaced. I just had all upper and lower bushings replaced on my 2014 A4.
I think his mechanics have his pants down a lot of the time, the prices he pays are nowwhere near trade price, most are near retail. And indeed, bushings can be pressed out on the A4.
Wouldn't pressing them out increase the risk of cracking, though?
Nice video Matt, just bought a 2013 s line version one of these, great car so far, still looks really fresh
I'm guessing times are hard Matt (😂) but there's probably at extra £60 margin if you get the tyres on black circles (or similar) delivered to the wheel refurbish guys, and save having them fitted twice.
....for a sand and paint as opposed to a full refurb I'd doubt they take off the tyres tbh.
Love the videos, keep em coming. You ever thought of doing a Q&A video, where we all fire questions at you?
Love these videos, Matt.
another great video. love your channel!
Had one of those as a company car back in 2014, those Technic models were a brilliant balance of spec then, had a multitronic auto in glacier white, still think on it fondly today ❤
Your video inspired me to buy one of these. Thanks!
Brilliant find 👏. Nice looking motor 👌
Such a quality car Matt!!!!!! Always time for an A4, moreso over the heavier A6 ( more problems ).......
Good content it’s great you give the before and after brilliant thanks
My pleasure!
Enjoying the variety of vehicles on the channel keep up the good work 👍👍👍
Thanks
Lovely motor. Great content as usual.
You’re a good man Matt. The A4 loves you and you love it. Can you please do a 5 series F10/F11 shortly ?
Good idea especially a 530d or 535d with 313hp
What are the odds for Matt saying "I have massively overspent"?
Oh wow scenery even on a sad dismal day is stunning, enjoy every breath 🎉
Can I see you pop the dent out you make it sound so easy
Maybe you could do it on your next video and show how easy dents pop out
Hi Matt nice video and good turn around rare one .
I bet he spent £16 on some new plates, £50 on a wash and valet and sold it for £7995 the next day 😉
Massively overspent
Don't forget a set of mats it'll be 8995 then
Most dealers would do that I suppose.
And a good buff 😂
Nah I'd buy from this guy
Despite being nearly ten years old it still looks like a modern car, and with the work you've done it's still a desirable one too.
I always find interiors on early 2010’s Audi’s age really poorly though, looked good then but today it really lets them down
Love your videos Matt.
Glad to hear it!
Always watch these vids while sitting on the bog. Thanks for making the time spent productive time 😂.
Good senseable and well build A4 B8!
Great video and work as always Matt! :D
Thanks a lot!
Nice car matt quick turnaround and will be a great car for someone and well worth the asking price 👍
A4 Avant one of the best.
5:33 4 lug nuts??
The A4 is always a good choice
“I spent a considerable amount on it” is Matt doing his best to avoid admitting that he has massively overspent.
After having watched the video, he's actually done quite well
nice to see a fairly straight forward turn around for you 😀
just checked your stock, im gonna be after a 2010ish Toyota Auris soon, you have one, a bit too new and rich for me at present 😄😄😄 but I'll keep checking 👍
product placement is excellent there matt
Great stuff 💪
Great videos showing before and after! Is it my imagination or was n/s/f wheel missing a bolt on initial inspection? Great channel 🐈👍
Boss man. Love ya Matt
Brilliant buy
Nice one Matt not a bad profit .
Well done you deserve it
Kevin
awesome video
Probably the most common that I see on the road, of this generations compact executive saloon segment. Always the A4. Rarely see the C-Class. They must be pretty reliable. I think they look the best out of them all.
I always check your website I see it up for £8k great car this 👏🏾👏🏾
love the b8.5 avant! great vid matt
A very rare find I think, These Audi's are gorgeous I'm glad you managed to find one like this !
😮 Enjoyed That Matt..😊
I have an A4. 2011, base model. Love driving it around it’s super easy to handle and drive. Bought it for $8500 and had 102k miles. Running like a champ after about a year.
i got an 07 a4 back in 2013 and only just got rid of it last year it was honestly the best car ive ever had never had a problem with it
Gosh! A straightforward car with good profit - brilliant!
They are solid cars. Xenon headlights changes the front end completely and better than LED. Personally I’d avoid black, as it shows every mark. A4 Allroad has more presence with aluminium roof rails and plastic wheel arches. Only weak points, rear suspension spring seats, and front coil springs. Turbos can go prematurely too.
And the dual mass flywheel, sadly. But that’s with all Passat/A4/Superb
Love it man😊
Thanks 😁
This one looks decent enough. The basics are there, although it looks like it's £1500-ish or so before it's good to retail. It's a classy car with a decent spec in tidy condition.
5:56 The audi dealership states that those marks come from driving a lot on gravel roads. I think the plastic bumper vibrates and peels the paint. A nice car btw
Saved from a miserable Monday night - well done. I love your videos Matt. Honest, true and you won't say 'that'll do' and let something break in a month or so. Well Done...You do always overspend but in the right places. Question - rear hatchback struts on a 2005 Toyota Avensis? You wouldn't believe they were £200 EACH. Toyota part only and even the Toyota lady said she wouldn't bother. When the wife smacked her head when it failed £400 was a small price to pay for my peace :)
You can get aftermarket ones for under £20 a pair. Admittedly they don't last quite as long as the originals, but they work and only take a few minutes to fit. I have fitted a couple of sets to my 2004 Avensis estate - after also being smacked on the head by the tailgate! The originals failed while I was on holiday in the Channel Isles - had to prop the boot open using an umbrella. Ordered replacements, they were delivered by the time I got home, fitted them the day I got back. I think the first replacement set lasted about five years, the second set are still doing fine.
5:45 you can see the rear door has been repainted as the swirls are a lot less! Related to the rear dent probably!
I see you recently had the Genesis GV70 EV (GV70 3.5v6 owner here in Sydney Australia). Was it a free loaner from Genesis or are you thinking about buying one?
Love the videos mate
Haha the Billy Joel album with River of Dreams on it was also my first album as well!
If you managed to find a Fiat Panda 100hp, I think it would be a really good car to do up and sell. You can get slightly shabby ones for pretty cheap (£1-3k), but in decent nick they will go for £4-5k quite easily. Plus, they are great little cars. (I'm definitely not biased at all)
And I'd be up to HPA to buy it...
Looks a very tidy car for the miles 👌🏻
Interesting Video. 😊
Actually it does have more than just the electric tailgate, leather seats and heated seats. It also has the dual zone climate control, which is dope
As usual good video Matt I’m just waiting for the car with my name on it!
Love those wheels. I have a set of them on my B6 Passat 😄
Car looks great and another good video 🚘🚙🚗⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
Hi. Why don't you service manual gearboxes which are also always ignored. Much cheaper to do, and will definitely be money well spent.😊
Surprising 🙂 When I saw an Audi, I thought it's gonna be a nightmare ... Anyway, good video, as always 👍
Rear suspension arms and bushes are a common fault with VAG group cars that have independent rear suspension. My Leon ST has the exact same issue.
FWIW Nexen have supplied tyres to VW, Seat and Skoda for original OE factory fit.
Nice car, hopefully all the trim fits properly and it buffed up nicely 😅
Solid car matt, you should easily get the asking price 👍
Have had my 2010 B8 Audi A4 TFSI Quattro Avant for ten years! A wonderful car … in 2015 it needed new piston rings etc due to oil consumption issues (sorted by dealer) and now needs new coil packs / spark plugs all too often … still a brilliantly modern car however!
Looks like the passenger side front wheel is missing a bolt😮
I saw that as well
@@liamjackson6930 Me too....
333K Subs 👏
HI Matt While watching this video I was wondering what your thoughts were on the Luton car park fire ?
Could you please do a video for touching in light scratches or spots of rust? Please
Need more Audi videos
A very interesting video. That car looks lovely. I have a feeling this car was owned by someone who looked after it properly. It looks like a car that has been cared for.
That's a pretty serious fight with the lawnmower mate😮
“This is unfamiliar territory isn’t it” 😂😂😂 not your normal unloved headache then Matt? That makes a refreshing change! Good luck to you 👍🏻
Am surprised your mechanic hasn't retired yet, with all the work you have given him over the years 😂😂😂
When you said Any Germany cars would be buggered 😂😂😂😂 thinking it's eye wateringly expensive!!
Hi had one. B7 a4 2.0tdi
I was waiting for the dpf to go. It didn’t but the turbo did
Have you ever considered either buying or sharing the ownership of a tyre and exhaust franchise, such as a KwikFit (or similar), give that frequently your bigger expenses tend to be shoes, brakes, aircon regassing etc... again, might be an interesting video to understand what it would cost to open, run and profit from, and if the benefits to HPAutos would out weigh some of the risk.
Matt - Great video as always.
One thing always makes me wonder when I watch them. When you quote costs for materials/repairs/servicing etc these often sound to me very low by comparison with what I have to pay when I take my car in for any servicing/repairs. How great is the difference, do you think?
It could be a North/South thing, how does he get 4 wheels prepped and powdered for 180 quid?
That's a ton per corner in Essex!
@@gileswelham2619that include the spray tan as well tho?
@@admiralswalk6694😂
Economies of scale is what it is
I Have a 2012 A4 ALLROAD which replaced my 2004 A4 AVANT. On both I have had a big problems with leaves getting into the front scuttle (?) around the windscreen wipers. This had never been dealt with on the ALLROAD resulting in a sludge like morass which somehow caused the floor mats to be very damp. Have you had any experience of this ? Great U-tubes always interesting !
I have the same in red the last 5 years. And on my 2nd wiper motor
Lovely job You gotta wear shades 😊
Good job. Shame it needed the suspension arms, really eats into your profit
I like that range rover ,And you must have a good team you trust .Matt i didnt get the bit at the end you still have to pay the outstanding finance owing .from previouse owner .
The death rear wiper is often only a broken fuse.
This and the XF were both nice cars and should serve their new owners well. But it's much more entertaining when the "I bought a cheap..." is something like the revolting A class or the C4 Picasso which only had 3 gears !
It's a nice car and looked nice inside before you got it. I wondered why the passenger read door looked darker than the passenger door, and quarter panel, but I wondered if it was the sunshine on it. Great content and great videos as always. You overspent but always look after cars, but I noticed the following sentence in your video description: "Today, I'm flying from Manchester to London for a rather rare and cheap Lexus. Let's see what it's like... "
And a good buff!!!
Love opening youtube and seeing Matt's posted a new video
Agree
Thanks
Loved my A4 Avant as a company car, it loved the motorways and just drove like a peach.
I had an opportunity to buy the same generation 2012 A4 Avant with a 1.8 TFSI engine for 4750 euro, It had damage so it needed a new bumper radiator, cooler and AC condenser (something pierced the bottom end of the rad pack but it the plastic itself was intact). After all that it was a mint 6000 Euro car, still driving it its been almost an year.
