I think the reason there are more queer female characters/relationships in kids cartoons is because it can be easily be portrayed as friendship or edited out queer female relationships tend to be more accepted/popular in media

I love all of these couples!! They’re all so cute!! I love their representation - it’s just so beautiful. Another good representation of MLM couples is Ambrosious and Ballister from Nimona! They’re a gay couple and a major plot point throughout the whole movie!
PS: Luz and Amity’s relationship is one of the best LGBTQ couples in media right now in my opinion! The series is so good and there’s other LGBTQ+ individuals in the show too!

In the original comic it's more vague, but I'm certain they ended up together in the end, and there was a bonus about when they were young and Ambrosious wanted a toy similar to Ballister's for Christmas so they could play together, so Ballister gave him his in secret, and on Christmas day Ambrosious was so excited, asking where his was, and Ballister said he lost it 😭🥺

Also it maybe anime instead but Gundam Witch from Mercury was amazing, and was basically Owl House with mecha instead of witches, plus explicitly lesbian, especially if you've seen the 2nd season Ed, which is such a cool ed. I’m actually kind of happy you did the genderbend version (I don’t remember the names of the originals i haven’t watched it 😅) because in shows gay couples that aren’t the focus of the show are like- non-existent LMAO.
In regards to more queer women being portrayed in cartoons than queer men, it's kind of complicated.
Firstly, straight people in general don't take sapphic relationships very seriously because the wants and desires of women in general are downplayed. It's still very integrated within society that a woman eventually has to end up with a man, patriarchy is still alive unfortunately. So the love and affection aren't really taken as seriously but it makes it so they aren't feared or seen as disruptive to social norms. After all, women don't know what they want and they'll grow out of it and find a man.
But queer men are taken as more of a threat because the wants and desires of men are taken more seriously. Men are supposed to be the instigators who lead the nuclear family, so why would they throw that away? It's seen as inherently worse.
There are also stereotypes of masculinity and femininity associated with queerness.
Even is queer women appear feminine, the want for a woman is seen as more understandable because a woman doing anything a man traditionally would is seen as understandable. After all, men and masculinity are strong and women and femininity are seen as weak and inferior.
Gay men are inherently associated with femininity, and it's seen as shameful for a man to express femininity because femininity is weak and inferior just like women. There's a reason men used to call each other gay if they weren't adhering to toxic masculinity.
I think another thing is also advertisers and producers. The higher ups who fund these projects are predominantly men who likely fetishise and belittle lesbian relationships but feel threatened by gay men.
I know it's a long list of reasons but basically it's the fault of the patriarchy. Like most things.

@@Not_Kaitlyn as depressing as it can be, the best thing we can do is hold pride and share these representative characters. Eventually these producers, advertisers, higher ups and viewers will be the same people who grew up watching these shows and learning from these characters. I just felt it was important to address since the insinuation a lot of people are pushing is that sapphic rights are being handled more easily or that we're doing great for representation when it's more complicated than that.

The owl house has to be the best show I have ever watched, the plot is amazing, it has a great amount of representation and all the characters are just so lovable and cute (well maybe not ALL of them...) but I would definitely recommend watching it!

I love your drawing of LuMity!!! It is really cute! TOH is my favorite show and I have spent hours upon hours talking about it. I’ve rewatched the first two seasons over twenty times at this point. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoyed SPOP and Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. Also if you like Amphibia or Gravity Falls I especially recommend it because the three have a few small ties to each other in the show and there’s a lot of references to GF in it. It has so much amazing representation for trans and queer individuals of all kinds as well as a,aging representation for the disabled community.
I could and have also talked for hours and hours and hours about how amazing the representation of trauma and fascism is in the show. How generational and systemic trauma can affect people as well as how you can actually escape and live an amazing fulfilling life from generation trauma. There’s a huge theme in the show about breaking the cycle of abuse and healing and learning who deserves forgiveness and who doesn’t. It is truly amazing. Please please please watch it, I really feel like you’ll love the show.

When you have more LGBTQ characters, there's this anime name jojo bizarre adventure and there is an (I think) two gay couples in the show and a bisexual character named Dio Brando and it's actually canon
And also there's another anime that LGBTQ rep, it's called paradise kiss, one of the characters is transgender (MTF) and another is bisexual

COMMUNICATION, TRUST AND PRIVACY. I feel like a lot of media representation of both heterosexual and homosexual couples stir up a lot of drama for the sake of drama and entertainment and some of them are unhealthy..like why are they even together if they hate/not trust each other so much?? Also shows usually show only the part leading up to their confession rather than the relationship scenes..while Owl House has them confess in the middle of the show and the rest of the show which has scenes of them explore the relationship, the trust, the ups and downs and everything

Sorry for the rant, but you should definitely watch the owl house! It has amazing plot and world building, its funny and heartbreaking at times, and can even pull out some pretty terrifying horror scenes when it wants to! It has so much queer representation, almost the whole main cast is queer. They're not boiled down to just being queer, but the show doesnt shy away from it either. I especially love how they show close friendship and genuine chemistry without them being interested in eachother, like willow and gus, or willow and amity(like you were saying in the vid).
The owl house is a rlly good show it has a lot of lgbtq+ in it and I think its rlly good and that u should definitely watch it lumity is definitely my favorite lgbtq+ couple I love how they always protect each other and care for each other their rlly loving and fun and ofc absolutely adorable!!! ❤❤❤🌈🌈🌈

tbh, I aside from the many webtoons I read, I honestly didn't see that many wlw ships at least in most of the series I loved watching. but mlm is also still something that I rarely saw in media despite seeing more of it than wlw media because queer relationships aren't as common in media rn.

The owl house is a great show, but I feel like it isn’t really binge watchable after the first time watching it for me personally. I love it because of the character growth we see in characters other than Luz throughout the show.
Amity and Luz make a great couple because they’re able to understand each others feelings, emotions, and motivations in the show. The show does tend to focus on their experiences with eachother more than their relationship (basically typical couple stuff like kissing cuddling etc. )which I love.
I legit thought that spinnerella was netossa’s mom at first 😭✋
