FIRST UPLOAD OF 2023 LETS GOOOOO - as I said in the beginning this was meant to come out last year (hehe) and actually was intended to come out before the Reindeer Kpop one but I was rushing to get that one finished somewhat before the year ended so that it'd still be released somewhat around Christmas time. But I am super excited to be done with this one! I have been a Sonic fan for most of my life so this project was near & dear to my heart, as much as I cringe looking at my old work. TT But this year I am trying to embrace being cringe because life is too short to embarrassed about the things that bring you joy. I plan to do more Sonic related content in the future, especially since I will be anxiously waiting for more Sonic Prime, but seriously, please tell me if you ever had a Sonic OC and what they were like because I am so curious. In the meantime keep an eye out for future videos, I am thinking of doing my next one about my art goals for this year (but we will see if that happens LMAO) Anyways, I hope everyone who watched this/is reading this description has the most wonderful, fantastic day, and know that I am rooting for you!

I made quite a few Sonic OCs before I started drawing them on paper. My first was a Treefrog named Leaf that I put up on DeviantArt earlier the same day TH-cam suggested this video for me to watch. Leaf has two friends, a Mouse named Modem and a Viper named Smoke. The three of them are mages with Leaf's magic controlling plant life, Modem being able to manipulate technology with magic, and Smoke being able to turn his body into smoke.
I also made an Elephant OC named Barbara just as a Mother's Day art because elephants are my mother's favorite animal. As well as a Coyote Samurai named Katana, a trio of sea animals, a mute Tarantula named Terror, and a Crow named Omen.

That's some pretty impressive artwork. And it's also good that you only had 1 species of animal for your OC during your childhood. With me, I've went through MANY species of mobians for my perfect OC. It went from a hedgehog with a racoon/tanooki tail, a regular hedgehog, a cyborg wolf, a hyena and now it's currently a bull. I was just never happy enough with the design for my past OCs as a kid.
Anyways, I do hope you draw more Sonic related content on your channel. And you've earned yourself a subscriber. 🙂

@@MintyMido no problem. And thank you for the compliment. I gotta admit, the hedgehog with a raccoon/tanooki tail choice was one of my most creative ideas I've made while creating a Sonic OC. Maybe I'll redesign him at some point. Because he's mostly a Sonic the Hedgehog recolour but with a few changes. 😅

The only sonic oc of mine that hasn't gotten lost to history is the self insert (most character traits aren't really shared with me though) I made like 2 weeks ago (btw I tend to ramble a lot like this so be ready for that if you're reading this whole thing).
His name is Femto (deeper reason for being named that than just being 10^-15 but I won't get into that) and he's a flying fish. In terms of design, he's mostly light purplish blue with hints of sky blue and light pink in his fair (which technically doesn't make much sense given his species but I'm choosing to ignore that). His wings look like a cape patterned with the night sky, and are asymmetrical as his right wing is longer. Some other details I'm intentionally skipping over because it's a lot of words for not that much payoff.
I'll probably elaborate on this later but I'm writing this at 11 pm and I'm tired

I was REALLY into sonic at like 10 years old but projected hard enough into Amy that I never had a mobian sona to call my own. Now I kind of regret it, the fear of making a mary sue or annoying people with a self insert made me give up on the idea before even starting.
This video is making me want to desing one now, at the ripe old age of 21.

I, unfortunately, was not in the Sonic fandom when I was a kid, but I am now! I’ve only been a fan for a few months and still have much to learn, but I’m making ocs anyways!
I have this one particular oc that I’m still making, she doesn’t have a name yet, but she’s based on the concept of characters often getting mistaken for Sonic himself. Like shadow, silver, MAYBE surge??, etc. she’s basically just a little blue hedghog girl who gets mistaken for Sonic and almost DIES because of it. Egg man thinks she’s Sonic and captures her (with ease, she’s a weak little girl with absolutely nothing special about her at all) and intends on killing her, again, thinking she’s Sonic, so the actually crew has to save her. They get her home safely, traumatized, but physically unharmed other than a sprained leg. I imagine she’d be a comic character! Personality wise, she’s an absolute coward. The absolute opposite of Sonic. Safety comes first, and, if she can help it, adventure comes NEVER. She dreams of a simple, peaceful life. She’s probably one of those people who wants to live a cottage core life, and honestly she’s so real for that. She does enjoy nature a lot, though! Until it gets even slightly dangerous. like I said, absolute coward. She has no special abilities either. She isn’t fast, or strong, or incredibly smart. she’s very, very average.shes somewhat smart, but in more of a “common sense” and “I do well in school” kinda way. She just kinda exists. But because she looks like Sonic so much, she either gets mistaken for him, or they ask if she’s his sister or daughter. She’s not related to him AT ALL but looks so much like him. She hates every second of it. She doesn’t hate sonic, but she hates that she looks like him, and doesn’t really like hearing about him or his great deeds, even if she is thankful that he keeps everyone safe.
Also, she thinks it’s stupid that shadow is said to look like Sonic, she thinks they look super different but nobody seems to agree. She thinks it’s just “right stupid!” In her words. Shes a bit judgmental, honestly, but she’s too much of a coward to say a lot of things out loud (like me).
I’m considering Ablyn (I think that’s how it’s spelt? Like- “Abe-lin”?? Idk) as a name for her.
But that’s about it. Having a cringey Sonic oc feels like such a specifically experience that I’m sad I never got to have as a kid, but now I can make cringe Sonic ocs all I want!
THIS CONCEPT IS SO CUTE I LOVE IT!!! I feel like she’d be popular bc she sounds like such a mood LMAO - and YES we love embracing the cringe 😏

For a limitation for your tablet power, just give it a power source that runs out. It's tech so it's got to run out of power. So the longer something is out the more power it takes to sustain.

The one on the right aka her old design could be when she was 1st introduced (or when she 1st met sonic and the gang), the middle could be her casual wear (aka her now) and the one on the left could be her battle outfit (aka her outfit when she's fighting bad guys).

To be honest, I like that your sonic oc is a panda. I recently got back into sonic stuff, and I will actually be doing a re-design video of one of my own sonic ocs as well. The reason why I mention that is because my oc was literally just a hedgehog. So, I think a panda is really unique cause I've never heard of a panda sonic character before. I really like the design you made for your oc, I think it's really cool and I like how you drew her hair.
Also side note; I too LOVE figureless gloves, I think they are epic as frick. Especially the leather figureless gloves cause those are usually worn by motorcyclists. My sonic oc also has figureless gloves cause lets be real it makes the character more cool looking.

Name: Cambo (play on the Spanish word for change, cambio)
Species: Raccoon 🦝
Power: Shape-Shifting
Backstory: Whenever he shifts his form, part of it come off as energy. Which is why he's always hungry, but anyway. Dr. Eggman sees him one day and realizes that he could use him an energy source. Boom he's captured and is forced to help Dr. Eggman. Yadda yadda yadda. Of course, sonic and the team comes to help him as a side consequence of stopping Dr. Eggman. Oh almost forgot, he can't die. His body constantly shifts new young cells to replace old and damaged cells unconsciously so he's always gonna be young and immortal. So after he's freed he goes on a trip of self discovery + uncovering his past cause living for that long does not do well for the limited mind.
Relationships: He has a close friendship with Amy rose and- dare I say- a closer one with Knuckles? (Ok ok I'll admit I was/am a huge fan of Knuckles)

I made quote unquote “sonic oc’s or oc” last year.
Always been a sonic fan but never drew an oc as a kid, which i regret cause I would’ve love to redesign it and trash talk it.
But anyways, My sonic oc came to me in a dream. Literally slept and had a sonic oc, woke up and questioned everything. Then I made more sonic oc’s cause I felt like it.
I’m realizing how weird it sounds, Yes my sonic oc came to me in a dream. Like as a meme of sorts! And then suddenly had like “screenshots” of him and then blah blah, I got back to work in my dream.
Woke up really confused and instantly wrote it down, then went to draw him.

Well done, the character design is amazing! I like how you connect your character to yourself this way you can relate to your character more and bring more aspects of yourself into that character. I have been a Sonic fan ever since I was 4 years old. I had a self insert Sonic character back in middle school, she used to be what I would call a Mary Sue and also a fever dream 😅, she was called Queen Erin, that was also my user name on Amino and other sights I was a part of, my character was a hedgehog because you can never have to many of those in the Sonic series. She was also part dragon though because my favorite creatures even to this day are dragons. She also was a galaxy color and was overpowered, and by that I mean she was as fast as sonic, could fly and do magic and was basically untouchable with a mopey side to her that was extremely obnoxious, and I expected that that would be fine in the reality world of Sonic 😅, so I actually redesigned her recently to fit me a lot more, and to be honest I am basically EXACTLY like Amy Rose incredibly in reality so my self insert character is a lot like her. Her name is Erii and she is the deity of time and exists as a chaos spirit so she can't really intervene in reality unless called to, and since time is connected to reality she can only use her powers in the real world rather then the spirit world, she is this time a mix between a Pangolin and a Galaxy dragon, she also is a very powerful spirit through learning about her abilities and her undying determination, she is extremely compassionate and cares about everyone, she is artistic and extremely creative, she loves nature and magic, she is and extravert aswell as being calm, she naturally brings people together, but she also knows how to stand up for herself and fight, and she has a role to protect time and help those in time witch can take a big burden on her, she sometimes can talk to much, and can be quiet annoying and can sometimes come off as braggy or to confident. The reason why I made her home in the soul realm is because it fits her abilities the best and in reality I am an Empathetic Medium with some psychic abilities and wicken abilities, I only do white magic though (I completely understand and respect if people don't believe in that). My oc is also a really good strategist. She also is really good at communication when it comes to how she feels and getting others to speak up about how they feel. I would probably headcanon her as being one of Amy's best friends since they're so alike😂. To be fair all of the traits I have listed except for the deity part are actual things I do and exhibit in real life so.
Also forgot to state that she can fly really fast about almost as fast as Sonic running, but with running she's slower, she's still fast but she's a lot slower. I'd put her probably around Amy's speed when running. She of course had to learn how to do all of this.

I really tried to kinda keep her interesting and still represent me and my interests but in a way that wouldn't be overbearing or annoying. Your character is really cool too! I love seeing artists redesigning old OCs and characters, giving more thought and story into the process. Your OC honestly has a really neat story. I currently am going into school for Graphic Design and I also am trying to start a new comic sci-fi fantasy series called Legends of Eternity or LOE for short. I have made over 50 characters with interesting designs and some cohesive backstories, enough to fit into three seasons, but I don't exactly know how to fit them all into the story, I have some ideas but not all. I want to try to publish it on Webtoon at some point but school is a bit hectic so.
