No worries on your voice that day, we understand. Espresso Ice Cream? Yum!! Those desserts sounded super yummy. That Taiwanese-Italian fusion soup looked really delicious. You both can make the rest of us gain weight, making us so hungry for such amazing food as you were able to try in so many of your videos. lol. The advantages of being able to travel the world. Wow! Taiwan looks like gastronomy heaven! How do you choose where to eat? It all looks so good! I agree with your opinion of packaging with great graphic art! I love going to the Chinese grocery store to look at the packaging, especially the candy and cookie packaging.
I like the idea of the restaurant in the apartment building. Many years ago, we were approached by a man in Mexico inviting us to his restaurant, and we declined, thinking it was a little fishy that someone would run a restaurant out of his home. We learned later that this is quite common in Mexican cities, and the food and experience is unparalleled. It was a missed opportunity on our part.
I can understand why you thought that as it's not common in North America. We didn't try home dining in Mexico, however, we did in Cuba and had a wonderful experience. I also love going to the grocery store (any grocery store actually haha!) and looking at all the packaging. Have you ever seen the game show Supermarket Sweep from the 90s? It's a classic and so much fun to see the old logos etc. As for how we choose where to eat, good question! It's a mix of things - research, asking, recommendations from others, and luck never hurts ;)

There is an interesting question that I am so curious that is about root beer. I like drinking root beer. When I travelled to Australia and I reckon that the root beer in Australia that is a little bit sweeter than Taiwanese root beer. How about the taste in Canada? Does it taste like the Taiwanese version or is a unique Canadian flavour? 😊
Good question! I love root beer too and the brand A&W is classic root beer in Canada. It has a much sweeter taste than the one in Taiwan. I reckon sweeter than Australia too. I'm used to the sweeter taste since I grew up with it but I really enjoyed the one in Taiwan as well. So interesting to see how the flavour is 'same same but different' as they say in Thailand :)

Eileen Aldis My favorite food is guabao, Taiwanese hamburger. The tender and juice meat, sweet peanut powder and the most important thing, the coriander. That is sooooooo delicious.😋

Taiwanese food is the best in the world.
BTW - The root beer tasted strange because it is not root beer, but sarsaparilla. The Chinese and English names on the can are different. Sarsaparilla is made by a number of soda manufacturers in Taiwan, while proper root beer is all imported in my experience (A&W, Virgil’s).

Hi Ben! Unfortunately, no, we didn't get there but I REALLY wanted to and it's near the top of my list for another time. I heard about how good it is (and how long the line is haha) from a lot of different people.
Here are two unique dishes that you may try, if you are still in Taiwan. Ask your Taiwanese friend to find it. These two are very unique and only in Taiwan.

Yes, on the pricier side but good! I really enjoyed the chicken burger with lemon tartar sauce. I was less into the Yakiniku burger but Marc loved it :)

7:01 The "root beer" is a happy accident. The manufacture tried to duplicate Coca Cola using local ingredients but made this instead. It has been very popular in Taiwan since 1950's. Until they need to find it an English name, the manufacture found the taste is more like a root beer than Coke.

I've been to Taiwan about 20 times and the only time I've ever got food poisoning was after eating at Mo's burger. On the way down the best fast food burger ever. On the way back it was like the "Exorcist". Probably Ecoli due to shit (pun intended) staff.
