Change the message you tell yourself here. You didn’t walk out in your family. You stepped back. You collected your thoughts and took time to write notes reflecting back how much you love your kids, how you can get frustrated, tired and hungry too and ofc the hardest part, that you’re not feeling up to snuff, which is always going to be the in the background. Thank you, you are right, and that’s why I didn’t regret it. It felt like walking away at the time, and plus it did make for a clickable TH-cam thumbnail, but I thought it was important for people to see how I cope when it’s all starting to get too much! Thanks so much for all your kind words, it means a lot to me.
Hi Caitlin. I’ve been watching your channel for quite a while and never commented, but I just wanted to let you know that you definitely did the right thing! Kids sometimes need a wake up call that their problems aren’t the whole world! Haha. I truly find you amazing. I know you definitely don’t, but you are so strong and do so much despite everything you’re dealing with, but doing everything normally keeps a distraction. Anyway, please don’t feel bad. You really are a super mum. I really hope the trial gives you the amazing results you deserve. Sending lots of warm hugs from Cath in Melbourne ❤️❤️
It just must be so hard... It's difficult raising kids being well. Being sick is unimaginable while dealing with this. Thank you for being real and honest. You give so much all of the time. And your family totally gets it. You're amazing. You need breaks!
Sweetie you are a great mom. You find time with each of your children individually. That is amazing considering you are fighting a cancer battle in the meantime. Sometimes we just have to let them know we are MOM. I pray for you daily, keep that beautiful smile.
Such a mix of highs and lows just like real life is. Sometimes walking out is the best option, you have so much to cope with and when things become stressful time out helps everyone to reset ❤
It's so easy for healthy people to take good health for granted, and so easy to forget how hard it is to function when you're sick or feel like crap. I'm so sorry you feel poorly. Others may not understand in the moment, but at some point, they might get a glimpse. Hang in there, Caitlin. You are so strong. Best wishes and love to you ❤ 🙏
Hi warrior lady👋. Great video! All sorts of things going on. Nice to meet your friends and the paintings were beautiful! Really liked the pink flower embroidery🌺. I'm thinking of giving it a go. Definitely not a bad mom for leaving and letting things cool off. Kids need to be reminded sometimes the world doesn't always revolve around them. Soon to have three 13yr olds in your home! Caitlin dear, I am so sorry that you aren't feeling better but if it helps, you look great. Every one of us feels as if we have just had enough from time to time and need to walk away and gather ourselves. You did nothing wrong or out of the ordinary and you are certainly NOT a bad Mama. Your kids are lucky to have you and they know it. Mama just has to focus on herself from time to time because Mama, is going through a lot. Hugs to you Caitlin.
Good for you, you're not a bad Mum, you're human and not a robot. Maybe they could do a nice meal for you. You deserve nurturing too. God bless. Hope you feel better soon.
I'm so incredibly proud of you claiming your power. Also teaching your children the power of empathy. You gave them a huge gift. Always an inspiration from your friend in Boonah. Oh PS your an incredible mum
This video confirms it….you are superwoman. I don’t know how you do it. As I watch this I can’t help but marvel what a well rounded life you lead and the children involved in all their own activities is so great for them. However, what always warms my heart is to see them having a solid base in faith. I was raised Roman Catholic. Even though I disagree with some things, I reach for my rosary, my prayers to the Blessed Virgin and God the Father, etc when I need to feel that special warmth of acceptance that you get from a higher power. I was raised with a very strong base in religion and I just feel for those who don’t have it. ❤
Good for You!! Your not feeling good and your always so giving to the family!! You take care of you for a change!! MOMS NEED A BREAK!! Love. Hugs and prayers for better days ahead❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 🪷🌸⚘️🌷🌼🌻🌹
Caitlin, you are fighting for your life so you can continue to be their Mom. They need to be counseled, maybe from the youth leader at your church. They are at the age that they could be so much help to you. Arguing amongst themselves needs to be addressed.
Thanks. The kids do receive counselling and psychology. They also have extended family who aren’t afraid to step in and challenge them in a thought provoking way when necessary. At the end of the day we all have our ups and downs and don’t behave perfectly. That night was a good re-group. Yes, they need to fight less, but for the most part they are good, it just got too much at that time! Back on track now - mostly!
Hi Caitlin I have been following you for a little while I don't comment much, but I had to tell you that you certainly are not a bad mom, your going through alot with your cancer journey and life in general, your kids should be there for you not arguing and making things harder, I'm glad that the next day they did realise and were apologetic to you, I understand from both your point of view and their point of view, life's obviously hard for them watching you go through your cancer treatments and perhaps they don't always know how to control their emotions so perhaps it comes out in arguments instead so I really feel for all of you, but your an amazing mom and a strong lady, keep being you, and if you need time out from the kids take it, you need to look after yourself as well as them x❤x
I wish we could do a food train for you so that you do not have to cook unless you really desire to! And the kids can surely make their own meal and hubby too! Even if it's a bowl of cereal or a sandwich . Much love and prayers sent your way!
That is very kind of you. The kids are all able to cook, and regularly get meals which is why I knew I could walk out. Alex helps with cooking most nights, so I am blessed. But I think the mental load of doing the bulk of it falls on me and sometimes it is the last thing I want to do when I feel unwell.
I don’t know how you continue to make dinners while going through treatment! I would be ordering pizza and getting premade meals at the grocery store. You are an amazing mom! I’m sorry that your kids were acting up! That is never fun, but it does happen. In the U.S. I have never heard of the Duke of Edinburgh, but it sounds like fun! Similar to Boy Scouts maybe?
Hi! We do occasionally have takeaway pizza for a break and when I know I’m going to be busy I will have some of the supermarket meals ready to go. I often don’t know the nights where I’m going to be feeling more tired than usual, and wishing that there was something easy to get. Ironically when I’m feeling unwell, that’s when I’m going to be less likely to be prepared and have the easy things ready! We muddle through though!
Oh and the Duke of Edinburgh award isn’t really like scouts because it is more led by the young person choosing their activities and filling out their own logs, finding personal supervisors etc. You do need to do it through an approved co-ordinator. We are so blessed our school is running the program.
Men don't think the same as women I'm so sure of it, 😢he just needed to be inside sorting the kids at that time especially since it's so hard it's hard with kids without cancer I'm not surprised you took out , you need support with the kids probably more at that moment than him being on tractor.
