That's what happens when the Doctor sees a big red button.
"So if I see a great big threatening button, which should never, ever, ever be pressed.... then I just wanna do this! *SLAM* " - Tenth Doctor
That was actually really sad :(( he still pretend to talk to Amy when he knows she already left... The loneliness that he had to deal with..... breaks my heart :'(
This prequel is actually so sad. It just shows how much the Doctor loves and misses Amy. Pretty sure if Amy heard this she would cry.
Why didn't the include this in the beginning of the episode? This would have made it even better!
Not only that, but it would've provided a bit more context as to why Amy ain't in the episode.
@@DoctorWhoKage this is a prequel to the episode so I belive it was released before the episode aired and technically did give context build a bit of hype before the episode was released
@@DoctorWhoKage We knew why Amy wasn't in the episode, she hadn't been in the Tardis since the end of God Complex.
This prequel doesn't explain why she isn't with him anyway, it just shows that she isn't.
@@DoctorWhoKage we already know she’s not there she leaves like 3 episodes before this and thinks he’s dead
I sometimes wonder why I still watch Doctor Who when I know I will be left devastated every time. I mean, the loneliness and the sadness that was hidden beneath the character is so heart-breaking. And not to mention that the actors portraying the Doctor (Eccleston, Tennant, Smith, Capaldi -- yes, all from the new series since I haven't been able to watch the classic one even though I have watched "The Five Doctors") are so good in conveying and delivering those heart-wrenching emotion despite their antics. We, as the viewer, still can see those sadness and loneliness in their expression or gesture (though sometimes it's only in a split second) even when they're blabbering and acting happy most of the time. I think that's an indication of good actors, really. I salute all of them.
After many years, but well said and thank you! I am keep coming back to this series
This children, is a valuable lesson to learn. NEVER PUT THE DOCTOR IN THE SAME ROOM AS A BIG RED BUTTON!
How about a blue button?
actually, it shouldn't be just a red one, it should be "a great, big threatening button"
This is so sad. I hate when The doctor travels alone. It makes my heart break.... :ccc
I feel my heart crack
I would feel bad he did decide to fake his death.
Makes the comics add in new companions for no reason
Why would you do that to my hearts...
I love the ending where he meets Amy at the front door of her home at Xmas and Amy says or thinks, I'm not going to be the one that hugs you first. and then each hesitates hugging the other at first.
Well, you got your red button after all.
Watching this after The Angels Take Manhattan hits different...
To me, "smithereens" is the most amazing word in the English language. I always cheer on the inside every time someone uses it. XD
This is cute, I like how the Doctor is calling for Amy then he remembers they went home :(
The loss of Amy and Rory was sad to say the least, and while they weren't gone at this point, they took a few months from him to live a normal life.
So The Doctor was alone and depressed, which actually happens all too often.
He then meets some children and a lady, makes them happy, visits the Ponds for Christmas, and then goes on to be Mr. Coolguy.
I really wish that they kept the prequels in the episodes
IT WAS FUNNY UNTIL IT HURT
Hey! He didn't sat "GERONIMO!!1!"
I'd like Him to say Allons-y! But that's Tennant not Smith. :(
I’m I the only one who thinks this is way better then the actual episode itself
That was just heartbreaking
(Screams as the Doctor Explodes) NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW COULD YOU DIEEEE!!!!!! WHYYYYYYYY!!!!
The Doctor just does what he's famous for....
Runs.
There's no way he could survive that.. but he does..
The Doctor, everybody!
He is really good at RUNNING.
Lots of practice.
Eeeeeeyyyyyy, it's you!
He's the Doctor, don't wonder why just except it.
Didn't expect to see Door Monster Here!
"Basically, Run!"
Run you clever boy, and remember me
NOW THE EPISODE MAKES SENCE
Ooh big red button... Too tempting.. Big 🔴 love matty❤❤😍😍
Why would there be a button like that anyway? Hah
well that explained... nothing
red buttons are cool.
THE prequel to THE doctor, THE widow and THE wardrobe
This is absolutely brilliant and so very sad! Eleven was such a fantastic Doctor and Matt Smith a phenomenal actor. But I don't get why people are saying that this Should have been included in the Christmas episode because an episode can start Right where it wants to! We don't see every single second of the Doctors life - otherwise Big Finish could never exist 😉 We know that the Doctor will always get into shenanigans, it's pretty much his reason for living 😉😊❤️
Awwwwwww... Doctor...you need a hug
the opening bit of the episode was brilliant though!
Oh! Now I get the opening of the x-mas special!
Wow! Can't wait! Hope Amy and Rory come in this ep!
This doctor is indestructable!! I can tell :3
OMG it's actually so cute ho much he likes Amy
LOVED David Tennant but I do like how this doctor allows himeself to have feelings an didn't destroy his assisstant life!!
Brilliant!
I like the soundtrack that was playing in the background it's one of my favorites :)
oh hi me i don't even remember commenting this
That. Was. Awesome.
I intend to used "smithereened" in my daily life now.
Including this in the X-mas special would have helped it to make a bit more sense.
Anyway, great episode. :D
SO EXCITED!!
The good part? He's revealed to be alived in one of the funniest ways possible.
SO EXCITED FOR TOMORROW
Oww, I had never seen the little prequel---when he goes "You're not even there..." *sob* rips out the feels...
Needed a 'geronimo' before he took his finger off the button
10 and 11 have a habit with big red buttons on alien spaceships
We are almost there...
tardis expands air bubble automatically around it's crewmembers.
Matt SMITHereens
Can't wait!
The Doctor, The Widow, and the Wardrobe. Sounds like Chronicles of Narnia
That's a deliberate reference.
looks like somebody took an arrow to the knee
Oh, he'll be fine
Its the christmas lights
WHY MUST WE WAIT?!?!?
Moffat liked his "The companions are now out of the picture. Their story is ended!" and then "Just kidding! They're back!"
Did it here where the doctor tries to distance himself from Amy and Rory and did it with Clara when they showed her being old. Which, personally, I think would have been an amazing end to Clara.
It even happened to Bill to a lesser extent... She dies as a cyberman then sort of comes back with that glass thingie.
AAAH that's some cliffhanger...CAN'T WAIT!
oooohohohooooo!!!!!!!!!! BBC always the best and Matt is gorgeous as ever!
Looks like a cue for a "Hello Sweetie" moment...
I agree 100%
Somebody, somewhere transmatted him out of there at the last minute! 😀😉
1 day left
GERONIMO!!
Yes. That's why this is a prequel to an old Christmas special...
Vocêis poderia fazer novo episodeo cm novos personagem bjs DOCTOR WHO E DEMAIS
Wow okay that was uncalled for
That's why i live up in the North west of England in Lancashire, Steven Moffat hasn't decided to let the many aliens invade us yet :D
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH IT'S SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!
this wouldve made much more sense if they kep it! when we were watching it as a family on xmas day (my older brother doesn't normally watch dr who) and he had no idea why he was running from an exploding spaceship!
I wish there was an Easter special too.... Series 7 doesn't start till autumn next year.
Yeah, and also, he used to count his age in Time Lord Years (idk but he did) then changed to Earth Years so his age is approximate anyway. I think.
i think its amy having a dream about the doctor, being worried about leaving him on his own - and getting himself smitherined lol
Don't tell me. He survives.
"Smithereened" Awesomeness,
I need to cope with waiting!!!!
Can't wait! :D
my poor hearts 😵
Coming soon ... i.e. Christmas Day 7pm in the UK :)
Same.
i assume the tardis gave him an atmospheric shell to breath
shock-absorbing suit. seems okay, if the ship has few to none escape pods.
Fisrt it's Amy leaving a message on the phone when the Doctor's not there, and then it's the Doctor leaving a message when Amy's not there.
AMY NOOO COME BACK THIS INSTANT YOU PONDS :(
The Doctor got well and truly smithereened there...I think not! :P
onyone know why this ep isn't on my itunes???
Lets hope the xmas special makes more sense than the last entire series.
Big Red Button!!!!
He/She really loves a Big Red Button!!!
i guess not, since the internal pressure of your body compartments isn't really that high. the pressure difference to vacuum is essentially your blood pressure (120 mm Hg), your tissue can handle that easily. you might get really red though. like a full body love bite. your eyes might start bleeding, there are some very thin arteries.
i didn't put it to a test though, thats just what i know from my physiology classes.
do i here sound of the tardis in the xplosion ?
@mrevilevil2 How do you know that Series 7 doesn't start until autumn? Link, please.
I think it's safe to say that the prequel was most definitely better than the entire episode
Not really since Eccleston or tenant or one of them suggested the idea of being able to summon the tardis with the key making the whole panic a little wrothless.
animo358 It may be just a specific one of the keys to the TARDIS instead of all of them, since there's something like 8 different keys to the TARDIS? Each one could potentially have a different actual function outside of simply unlocking the TARDIS, one summoning the TARDIS to it's exact location (the one he had in his wig in the Time of the Doctor).
but how do you explain that landing?
@TheThetaGraft Type 'Doctor Who series 7' into google, the first link (doctorwhotv) will give you more info about it.
As much as I like this scene it doesn't make sense (timeline wise). He phones them after the events of "The Wedding of River Song", when The Doctor assumes Amy and Rory believe he is dead but before he goes to visit them at the end of "The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardobe" which this is the prequel for!!
He dos not phone them, he phones the TARDIS. He even says at the end that they left ages ago.
At least I have sherlock from 1 Jan to keep me accompanied before the long wait T_T
I can say this all without looking at it:P
I wonder how the Doctor survived that. If he didn't survive then how did he came back? Either way it's confusing
Watch The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe?
You're unsure if the OP should do that? Come back when you are, then.
Indeed. And I'm amazed this was 4 months ago, it feels like I posted it a week ago
i fucking love doctor who jajaaj best series :D
on the other hand, you can survive quite some time in space, since in lack of medium, the only way of losing heat is radiation, what takes days.
