I was three gigapower dinobots in when I realized the METALLIC was the way to go. The chrome versions are more toy accurate. Hence the clear plastic parts and leg filler peices. The metallic is less shiny and the gold parts are much closer to toon accuracy. The metallic Slag also comes with the toon color silver thighs and horns. The red head is the toon head. Either way its one of the few bots I'm not swapping out with fanstoys. Let's hope they are making the Sky Lynx they teased a while back.
Also picked up a Grassor from Show.Z. Love the fact that give you pieces for a toon look and toy look. Although, I did not receive the smoked plastic pieces with mine.
All that chrome and reflection reminds me of the 1984 toy commercials. How they would turn the robots and the camera would catch the reflection just right.
Nice review! They couldn't plate the heel spurs/dino back pieces because it's all one piece leading into the legs. The only way they could do it is if they vac-plate the whole leg and then paint the gray/silver on, but I don't think they'd do that and trust it to hold up. Fun fact, the only chrome on him is the chest and rear dino head plates and dino toes. The "silver" mirror is what chrome is but it's all plating. I know we all refer to any color with shiny mirror finish as that color chrome but technically that's wrong.
I took GIGAPOWER GIGASAUR over the FTs b/c they were across the board better - 1 caveat - felt that FTs Stomp's Alt mode has a nicer looking Dino Head. Great Review - Thanks! I have both GP and FT. The giga are big and cool. IMO, they are more stand alone. When I have them next to my MP collection, they look out of place. Too big and stylized. I'll take the FT in both mode, every time. I do like the GP though. Thanks, Mike.
I'd really like to find an aftermarket or GP source for the silver horns for him. I just got him last week and the silver horn option was not included. :-(
I have Fanstoys grimlock, but I wouldn’t mine finishing off the rest of my mp Dinobots with Gigapower, they have so much better paint and detail than FT

I have slag and snarl waiting on sludge which is about to be shipped out then grimlock and swoop ...I love these Dinobots..yes I preorder mines.💪

Yep there are many great points to the Fanstoys versions but they are super early designs and these are updated designs

No. Get the Gigapower Grimlock, it's the best.

Best MP dinobots on the market so far, one of the very few clear loses by Fanstoys. Giga beats them with these dinos.

Fanstoys does do the toon look very well! They are old designs and on the smaller side but still have charm
