      kinda simular both have fighter bays on each side, and both have an angerler design . They both use similar weapons to ballistic guns and missiles. One could easily mistake ither ship belonging to the other universe, both ships are great

    Done a similar comparison to the Nimitz myself a few years back on the SG subreddit when trying to work out how much naquadah was required to build these beauties. Was some fun math. Helps to give the ship it's true scale too. The DVD Magazine has a lot to apologize for when it comes to sizing. However, that miniscule size is also mentioned on the original concept art diagrams. A shame given that the sizing won't work with the F-302 when sized for human beings at that scale. So the 650-700m number must be the more accurate value.
    You did a pretty good job on the video. Confidence and performance will surely get better as you go, so keep at it there. There are a few minor gaffs here and there that could use a bit of refinement before posting as well. For instance you have mispelt Does on the two thumbnails you displayed for the other videos. Definitely subbing to see what else you post in future.

      The interior of the BC-304 must either really filled or heavily occupied by arms or other essentials. As the F-302s are roughly 2.5 times the width of a F-35 and the Nimitz carrier can hold ~12-14 aircraft where catapults 1 and 2 launch from.
      As per a Reddit discussion "Spinobreaker" described how the F302s scale in comparison to the BC-304, but also stated the following
      .
      For the record, the sizes of the vfx models are as follows
      F302
      Height - 5.8m
      Width - 26.2m
      Length - 14.2m
      X303
      Height - 193m
      Width - 250m
      Length - 520m (for some reason i always remember this as 550m... idky)
      BC304
      Height - 154m
      Width - 372m
      Length - 732m

    You knew what is the most strange part for the BC-304 . It"s the fact it is a twentyfirst century building a ship who's size either match the Nimitz or are two times bigger . As for the power source , I alway thought that the BC-304 should have a bigger version meant to powering the systems such as the shield and the sublight engine . We know that the Railgun are powered by integrated naquadah generator on their own . Hell , I was wondering why they didn't build larger railguns or a spinal variant meant to accelerate to percentage of the speed of light , they have the energy and the technology to do that . I mean come on , you think that accelerating a ship with a millions tons of tonnage at several ten thousands gees in short time is far much more complex than say accelerating projectiles with a mass of a few hundreds kilos to a couple of tons at percentage of the speed of light that could release kinetic energy in the range of hundreds of megatons or a couple gigatons .
    As for the Power core , I alway thought that power source that was given to us by the Asgard seemed using subspace as a power source . It"s too bad , they didn't describe more .
    However , the hull is strange , I know that the elements they used are very strong . The Trinium was say to be hundreds time stronger than steel ( was it tensile strength or compression strength ) and lighter than steel . The Naquadah seemed to be used to reduce the energy level the ship receive . However , We are in scifi universe , I alway imagined using a multilayered composite of fullerene and nanotube using said elements will increase the hull strength . I mean they have teleporters that could scan , transport a human being in the form of pure energy and send him /her at orbital range at bare minimum . If they have scanners to do that and energy , they could easly produced very efficient materials with a atomic-scale precision . It is quite strange , they didn't use other materials such as tungstene , titane or steel . I mean if you could mix them with the scifi elements and build it with the level of metamaterial physic that I spoke about , they could have made stronger hulls .
    In short , It was a fun video . However , the author did mention the problem of incoherencies and uncertainties that are present in the series .

      @Eaglestorm27 great comment and ideas I love your take on the rail guns and the power plant in my guess is a large asgard design naquadah generators that powers the engines and shields with smaller naquadah generators scattered through the ship for secondary power and for size I want to believe that the x 303 is around 200m long and the bc 304 is round 700m as the 304 was constructed with a lot more alien tech and major asgard involvement but that's my take thanks for the comment

    Naquadria was used in the 304's as its main power source. Naquadah is too weak to power then entire ship, as Naquadria can do according to the show I can't remember what episode.

    Something I think you missed... I didn't hear you mention it either when talking about power supply, or the FTL engine, but...
    While it can be powered by the ZPM, the Hyperdrive is normally powered by a Naquadria reactor, regulated with a special regulating buffer component, as Naquadria is highly unstable.
    To be fair, it's described as how the X-303 promethius Hyperdrive works, not the BC-304s, but considering the 304 was designed before they got a ZPM, or Asguard power supply, you have to assume that they still used this as the Hyperdrive power supply as a default.

    • @SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4Y
      @SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4Y  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @bobingabout in my research the 303 and 304 received asgard hyperdrive along with the shields the asgard hyperdrive are powered by naquada generators not naquadria only the human built hyperdrive engine use naqudria as a short cut as earth didint have the means to generate the immense energy needed but with the asgard engines they use powerful naquadah generators the show moved away from naquadria engines after the prometheus engine core blew up cause after that they retro fitted an alkesh hyperdrive engine then late upgraded to asgard engine so no from the show info and info I reserch for the video they don't use naquadria generators also the zpm was a add on power booster same as the asgard core the ships own power was only naquadah generators

    • @bobingabout
      @bobingabout 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4Y Considering for the most part "Put more energy in, Ship goes faster" is a general rule (Which is why a ZPM can get them to Pegasus in 2 weeks, rather than 2 months), they'd either still need a Naquadria generator to power the asgard hyperdrive, or a significant improvement in the Naquadah generator technology.
      Asgard technology doesn't actually use Naquadah to power their ships, they have something called Neutrino-ion generators.
      So unless the Asgard shared this technology, and it was incorporated into the 304, then the 304 likely still uses Naquadria to power the hyperdrive.
      I mean, I'm not going to outright say you're wrong, I'm sure the Asgard hyperdrive is more efficient than the Goa'uld design, but it also goes faster, so unless you can point me to specific evidence that it isn't using a Naquadria reactor to power the hyperdrive (in the absence of a ZPM), I'm going to assume it is.

    Small correction. The Prometheus and the Daedalus are not sister ships. That would imply ships within the same class. Those two vessels aren't anywhere near the same class by any measure.
    I also take issue with the use of the term Battle cruiser. Let's be honest, they chose that term because it sounds cool. But that's a whole different conversation. As is the one where the Air Force is sailing warships, but whatever!

    650 meters is probably the wrong scale length for BC-304. Generally speaking there are 2 ways to scale ships in scifi.
    1. By means of other ships
    2. By Design Intent.
    Sometimes they will agree with each other...more often they don't. As a Structural Drafter and Designer I've done this many times. I prefer Design Intent. What is the max size does X304 need to carry 16 302 fighters.
    If The stargate is 6.7 meters in diameter the makes the X302 16 meters in wing span. The max size of X304 is 417 meters long.
    If X304 were 650 meters long the VLS tubes would be wide enough to fire a 3.7 meter Dia Falcon 9 rocket out of.😅

    • @SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4Y
      @SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4Y  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      online i could only find 2 sizes for the 304 and like a say in the video going based of the f-302s size, 225m L is way to small so i opt for the larger 650m L size, now i see you point of view that the shows scale is based on what shot they need at the time and it doesn't always match between shots but i do think the 304 is 500m L or more to accommodate the f-302 hangers as the f-302s are 26m wide themselves so in my mind each hanger is like its own aircraft carrier in size so in that case imagine 2 Nimitz class carriers on either side of the 304 and go of that for a rough estimate but thats the fun thing about it we can debate ourselves the size unless stated directly from the creators witch I'm don't sure it has, and with the VLS missiles if their size is like the mark 41 at 2.21m diameter wide i see why you would think the neck would be to big but i don't think so due to tube doors probably being at least 5m wide but if you look at the way i have roughly worked it out i reckon the forward section of the 304 the neck is around 70m-100m wide to fit with the overall width of the ship but thats my rough measurements and probably not right but great comment by the way its great to discuss

    • @saquist
      @saquist 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4Y Indeed. I didn't want put a wall of text down but I will note additionally that if both bays are like Air craft carriers then I question why X304 only carries 16 fighters, where as Nimitz carries 60 to 100 aircraft. Also why such a small crew?
      The premise with Design Intent is to fit a useful purpose with the only a necessary scale. Scale follows resources and materials. Militaries always design a minimum viable product. Two of these ships were destroyed. You must ask your self "Did I need 2 650 meter 75% empty ships to carry 16 fighters?" In one episode its made clear the ships can't carry more than the small hundred or so people due to the limits of air.
      Finally construction consideration. Atlantis revealed these ships construction are easy to see from orbit. We have 480 meter dry docks and ship yards but nothing close to 650 meters. Norfolk can handle 340 meter carriers and they take 10 years to construct. Stargate pops 1 out every year. The USA suddenly got super efficient with the shipyards.

      @saquist yh its definitely up to debate on size but I can imagine the ship having thick Hull and alot of space is possible engines and other ship essentials like air ducts and Jeffrey tubes I'm not sure there's a blueprint for deck layout anywhere online also its quit spacy inside with estimate 2m wide corridors nice size crew quarters I could go on but I do get your point plus and aircraft carrier holds plane underneath main deck the 304 dosent the hanger has the runway in the middle with two rows of 302s each side there could even be a passage way between the two hangers that would take up space but hay its all speculation we need a exact blueprint with decks hull pipes and all the other things in the walls for an accurate cut away also just to point out the enterprise E from trek is 680m long so compare the 2 and make a estimate also I think the crew size of 200 makes sense for the ship given the explanation Rodney and Caldwell say in the show but again its all speculation only the creator of the ship knows for sure whats what

    • @SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4Y
      @SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4Y  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @saquist also to add on to the ship building yh I don't understand the quickness of the construction unless there's asgard tech involved with construction. it don't make sense but as we never see it outside the x 303 hanger who knows what infrastructure they have to build the 304 but I reckon the build the ship in and underground hanger till space worthy then moved to orbit for finial interior construction allowing for the next ship to start construction but again as we don't see any of the infrastructure from ore refining to part construction its really hard to speculate the method and time outside the shows dialog but it's intreasting to imagine

    • @saquist
      @saquist 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4Y carriers can carry 36 fighters on the main deck. Space fighters don't need runways. If Daedalus is 650 meters long then they should have 72+ fighter compliment easily. Then obviously fighters could be stored under the flight deck because what else would you do with that space give Nimitz size length and height.
      I will respectfully disagree even with creator of the ship as to whether he actually took these considerations into account. Andrew Probert creator of Enterprise D and Refit Enterprise CLEARLY did because he's a designer and US NAVY. He understand what these scales mean.
      I've done this with Sovereign class and its creator. John Eaves. Sad to say it's the worst designed ship named Enterprise. (Poorly planned separation plane, Quantum torpodo turret that fires through the windshield of the Captains Yacht, no engines for the stardrive...etc...etc)
      You'll find that if John Eaves doesn't think he had time in 1 year of preproduction to design Sovereign properly...the designers on Stargate SG1 certainly didn't have that time either.

      Disagree. The only reason it couldn't deal with the Replicators was because it was built after the Milky Way (not really though) Replicators were destroyed and thus wasn't weaponized with that foe in mind. If it had been, the BC-304 could've easily been equipped with an upscaled ARW (Anti-Replicator Weapon, like the handgun version shown on SGA) that O'Neill got from the Ancient Repository of Knowledge. Thor had equipped a planet-wide version on his ship and Dr. McKay mentioned that Earth had been in the process of building their own when they were dealing with the Pegasus Replicators. So equipped, a BC-304 would be able to quickly and easily take out a Replicator ship.

      After the Asgard Beam Weapon upgrades, the Ori ships were no match with the BC-304 one versus one. They took out two Ori ships in a row the first time it was tested. A BC-304 with a ZPM boosting it is extremely powerful, and it did those things without one. With one, the shields and hyperdrive are very ridiculous, and they're already ridiculous without. The shields were able to withstand a direct strike from a sustained solar flare. The hyperdrive is one of the fastest in all of sci-fi. The BC-304 has very strong defense, and if that doesn't work extremely few could catch up to it in an escape.

      their is a few shots in Atlantis where the bridge shows the neck out the window in the position i have said yes it may not have been verbally said but going of the shows visuals i choose the neck for the bridge however in the ark of truth movie when the odyssey goes through the supergate it does imply the that the bridge is at the top as thats where it shows sg1 at the moment the ship passes through the event horizon but that could be due to directors choice rather than actual ship designers choice, maybe both can be bridges, maybe the neck is the bridge for the Daedalus and the top is the bridge for the odyssey i don't know but its fun to speculated

    And you consider yourself a NERD :D
    How on earth could the 304, being 650m long, fit into the dock where the 303 was built?
    Ha'tac was 3-3.5 times larger than the Great Pyramid of Giza, which gives a maximum diameter of 800 m. And 304 was how many times smaller?

      @@SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4Y And you, as a "nerd", don't know that CGI models change every season and even every episode or scene?
      And taking them as a basis for calculating anything is... Stupidity??
      How can you explain that a 650-750 meter ship landed on a platform in Atlantis? Where the tallest building is about 850-900 meters high. And the diameter is 3.5-4 kilometers?
      Or how on earth two G.Ford class aircraft carriers were crammed into the dock where 303 was being built :D
      And another task. What were the dimensions of the USS Defiant? Because there are also cool numbers here :D From several dozen to 300+ meters. According to the CGI model and the scale of other ships.

    You compared to an aircraft carrier,then showed each hangar carrying 4-8 craft.Which don’t need a runway.The catapult of a Nimitz is less that 100 metres,maybe 90 meters.And looking at scenes in show 90 meters is probably too much.I would say it’s definitely less than 300 metres.It seems small on screen.

      an F-302 has a wingspan of 26m double say the F/A 18 witch is a carrier aircraft so given the size of the f-302 I say it needs to be large with each hanger being at least 60m to 80m wide to be able to line up 2 F-302 next to each other for take off plus the bays each side of runway once you start to add it all up it starts to get big

      @paulmusgrave2243 and this is the problem its hard to see the size of something in space, because there's nothing to scale it next to but the f-302 have a size that is shown so atleast the f302 can be scaled next to the 304 for size I think a lot of people debate the size cause it dosent look that big/small and they can't belive the large size due to the construction not making sense but in all my information gathering about the 304 its definitely bigger than 300m other wise it dosent work with the interior, I don't think there any one right answer at this point so I let you guys decide for yourselves on what you think while I tell you what I think its a good debate 😀

      @@SCI-FI-NERD-DRMCK4Y every sci-fi show has this problem,scaling has always been an issue.Generally on fly bys because they want an epic scene that lasts 60 seconds when really it should be 1-2 seconds.When O’Neil flys a 302 and ground staff are all around it you can see it’s way smaller than an f18.Maybe thats because it’s a practical model and it’s meant to be bigger or that the technology has advanced that they don’t need conventional jet engines.For me a Nimitz can launch 2 f18 from the prow of the ship side by side,around 90 meters.Then there’s the missile cells for scaling.This was a brilliant show btw one of my favourites and I don’t think they should bring it back and ruin it like Star Wars or Star Trek.

    I never understood for those ships why they didn't have/use a fire control computer able to track & auto-fire the gun turrets, instead of forcing a much slower process of manually tracking to fire at small attack craft. It would have been far more efficient than forcing ship personnel, i.e Ronan to manually fire & get frustrated enough to smash the control consoles..
