    What's so great about hearing insight from Aaron Traylor on the team creation process is it sheds a light on the iterative nature of top level teambuilding. You don't arrive at EV spreads, items, tech Mons, etc in one swoop of genius but instead learn what works with the core concept of the team through trial and error.

  • @Syn-eo7yv
    @Syn-eo7yv 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    This video is pure gold. I love how you highlight what Aaron is saying and I love how he gives precedence to flexibility and min/maxed to the point that would implode most human minds (even though he basically said he pulled a lot of the numbers out of nowhere.) Tera types definitely made the game more volatile than ever, but he adds a whole new layer by forcing the opponent to cover for so many different scenarios. I would LOVE to see more videos like this, where we get the insight of another amazing player with the added benefit of having your professional commentary. You guys are absolute legends.

    This collab is hype as hell! One of my favourite Wolfe Glick videos is one he did where he kept calling VGC players until he won with a terrible team, and I love the ones where he teambuilds with Ray Rizzo too, so videos like these are awesome! I love your guys Beastcoast content too. Really hoping you'll do more collabs with other VGC players whether it's for serious team building stuff like this or even goofy challenges if you're ever up for something like that!

    Collabs with other players, both on ranked ladder like with Traylor here, or exhibition matches like the recent Wolfey match are amazing content. I loved seeing the friendship between you and Traylor here, and how both your brains were thinking the same thing. I also personally watched the Wolfey match with both PoVs side by side, constantly pausing to hear both your and Wolfey's thought process turn by turn. I'm so glad I found this channel at the start of my VGC journey because the way you structure your content is so informative, while also being so much fun to watch.
    Keep up the great content Cybertron!

    That was awesome! It's great to hear the team creator himself describe the ideas behind the team. I also learned quite a bit about team preview - the idea that certain pokemon bait your opponent to pick certain mons and capitalizing on that is something I haven't thought of at all. Given how lost I tend to be in team preview that's gonna help a ton.

    Hearing Aaron tell me to stop taking EVs so seriously is something I needed to hear. Spent so long on things in order to try teams. I think the point is, start with something and change from there

    Awesome video!
    I love this Meowscarada set.
    Also people need to stop sleeping on Soak; especially with Tera.

    I think its a good example for the whole open sheet discussion. On ladder its fun and tricks like scarf soak or those various TR options work. In tournaments its not just fun. And I understand all those pros are happy with more information to not lose to a ginmicky team just because of surprise actions.

      the tournament that i got 2nd in was open team sheet actually! i was still able to scarf soak people and set up trick room. i think it’s because this team had so many options that even though opponents knew i had them, they still weren’t able to cover for all of them
      in a way i may have actually benefitted from open team sheets because opponents may have fixated on whichever option they saw that I had that they thought was most dangerous, but i cant confirm that
