Sometimes I think you just need to go for the gimmick when a team has placed high enough, because that's a good indication the gimmick is very strong. Huge Power is gifting Swords Dance to an ally and any Pokémon that gets a free Swords Dance is a threat. Sure, Skill Swap has its limitations (dark type, Good as Gold), but generally feels decent right now. There was a Stantler gimmick team that also ended up with some good reasons to use Skill Swap. The nice thing about Skill Swap is that few Pokémon run bad skills, so there's usually something decent to snatch if you're gimmick isn't in play. I'd love to see Skill Swap on both Mold Breaker Tinkaton and Pure Power Medicham solely to watch Gholdengo lose Good as Gold to Tinkaton. I don't know what you'd do after it loses Good As Gold (ummm, Leech Seed Appletun?), but it'd be fun to see that happen to Gholdengo just once.
Love your vids. I really wish that when you battle the people you see in the stands are all people youve traded with. It would be awesome if when the camera pans the people on the side lines it would pull from the trainer IDs of pokemon in your boxes/people youve battled on ladder. I thought about that last season when the camera pans the same 4 people in the standium.
I actually faced the Mugiwara Mob person with that Grimm Drogonite team today. Thought it was kind of cool. I was lucky enough to prevent screens from going up for most of the match with taunt Gengar
I wonder what other shenanigans people can come up with. I would’ve never guessed that moveset for Medicham,, EDIT: hahaha I was thinking about that garchomp set with bright powder after I saw your mono ice team video with Glaceon and it literally dodged everything the one time you showcased it.
Do you think skill swap/ doodle would be better, worse or just different if your skills were permanently swapped for the rest of the match, regardless of switching? This would also apply to the enemy team. If they get a skill swap on your team, you are stuck with the ability for the rest of the match.
I’d be curious to see if there’s any chance Avalugg would have any sort of viability as an offensive presence on a snow based team. Might have to look into that and see if I can come up with something
Another pokemon that gets skill swap that people aren't talking about much is Tinkaton who can either grab huge power/pure power for itself, pair it with slaking or give an opponent one of its 3 abilities while having fake out itself, it's steel nuke and another move
Would this work with a bulky Slaking and just basically have Medicham be fodder for a free switch in? EDIT: Back after using it, and it’s honestly crazy, I scarfed Medicham to get the skill swap off then if I live the next turn(usually do cause they target pure power slaking) I skill swap truant onto something else if possible. It was a sick combo but I did get stopped a few times, crazy if you can pull it off(ghost Tera on Medicham to bypass any fake outs) EDIT AFTER EDIT: So I switched the scarf for focus sash. I lead with murkrow Medicham, set up tail wind and fake out. Next turn I switch out murkrow for slaking and with my max speed investment Medicham I haven’t been outsped In tailwind yet, so I skill swap slaking on switch in and it’s ggs from there.
I think Toedscruel with Skill Swap would be interesting. Giving enemy supports Mycellium Might to shut some support down especially in exchange for Prankster so then you'd have Prankster Spore in exchange for the setup.
Tbh there are so many interesting/cool teams this gen that I’m glad he covers more teams. I do agree though in cases where part of a team isn’t utilized in an episode and thus is never shown off.
qotd: clawitzer. i think it could be very interesting being able to opt into a different ability catching people off guard when you run hard hitting moves instead of just pulse coverage.
I'd love to see tatsuguri with a working skill swap, seeing dondozo eat something like a gyarados or donphan would be hilarious Think it would also be fun to see it on a swift swim/slush rush/sand rush/clorophyll pokemon. It has a lot of probably too powerful synergies & the ability to make opponents faster for trick room.
I know Espeon and Umbreon get skill swap as a TM because of their typing, but i think it would be fun to see the other eevelutions using it (i love jolteon and idk, sounds fun)

I feel like having a full speed meow gives u more room to do what u want.
U end up slower but if u want a free switch in u want u turn to go last, and if it gets hit to sash u can take advantage of the speed and overgrowth as a background sweeper if u need it.
Best part of each vid is the breath taken right before you start taking 😂
I loved how Medicham stole Azumarill's Huge power after giving up its own Pure Power
Also, Game 3, your Medicham did that much damage because Armarouge used Armor Cannon I think twice before
That game 1 was brutal lol, double Huge Power XD
38:00 Medicham is in overgrow which is why it did so much
Great video as usual. I just saw your tweet about commentating tm. You plan on competing at all this year too?
Love your vids. I really wish that when you battle the people you see in the stands are all people youve traded with. It would be awesome if when the camera pans the people on the side lines it would pull from the trainer IDs of pokemon in your boxes/people youve battled on ladder. I thought about that last season when the camera pans the same 4 people in the standium.
What a cool idea, love it
Love this team
I actually faced the Mugiwara Mob person with that Grimm Drogonite team today. Thought it was kind of cool. I was lucky enough to prevent screens from going up for most of the match with taunt Gengar
Huge power, flower trick, adamant Meowscarada sounds insane bro. Imagine if huge power was its hidden ability instead of protean.
I just realized that when Meowscarada faints, it takes a bow. Fitting, I guess, for a stage magician.
ive been looking this stratergy and its too op 😆😆😆😆
Love the battles Cybertron!! Now i didnt find it online so i ask here.. how may i change my background field for battles??
30:53 They don’t activate overgrow because you’re skill swapping and giving it pure power
I wonder what other shenanigans people can come up with. I would’ve never guessed that moveset for Medicham,,
EDIT: hahaha I was thinking about that garchomp set with bright powder after I saw your mono ice team video with Glaceon and it literally dodged everything the one time you showcased it.
Armorouge with Skill Swap to make Scizor an unstoppable beast
I actually found a shiny medicham so I might have to make this team in game, it looks mad fun lol also love the content!!
Do you think skill swap/ doodle would be better, worse or just different if your skills were permanently swapped for the rest of the match, regardless of switching? This would also apply to the enemy team. If they get a skill swap on your team, you are stuck with the ability for the rest of the match.
Game 3. "I'm going to use Skill Swap on Meowscarada, and then they'll trigger Overgrow on it..."
I think you forgot something.
I’d be curious to see if there’s any chance Avalugg would have any sort of viability as an offensive presence on a snow based team. Might have to look into that and see if I can come up with something
Not sure how good it would be, but I think your best bet would be to pair it with Slowking for Trick Room + Chilly Reception.
Would you rather poison your opponents with poison spikes or use will o wisp
Another pokemon that gets skill swap that people aren't talking about much is Tinkaton who can either grab huge power/pure power for itself, pair it with slaking or give an opponent one of its 3 abilities while having fake out itself, it's steel nuke and another move
Would this work with a bulky Slaking and just basically have Medicham be fodder for a free switch in?
EDIT:
Back after using it, and it’s honestly crazy, I scarfed Medicham to get the skill swap off then if I live the next turn(usually do cause they target pure power slaking) I skill swap truant onto something else if possible. It was a sick combo but I did get stopped a few times, crazy if you can pull it off(ghost Tera on Medicham to bypass any fake outs)
EDIT AFTER EDIT:
So I switched the scarf for focus sash. I lead with murkrow Medicham, set up tail wind and fake out. Next turn I switch out murkrow for slaking and with my max speed investment Medicham I haven’t been outsped In tailwind yet, so I skill swap slaking on switch in and it’s ggs from there.
In Game 2 on the lead I was so terrified Grimm would pop Misty Terrain and block the Will-O due to my own past traumas
I think Toedscruel with Skill Swap would be interesting. Giving enemy supports Mycellium Might to shut some support down especially in exchange for Prankster so then you'd have Prankster Spore in exchange for the setup.
Your so good. Would love to know what you think about series 2. Since it looks like paradox Pokémon are being added.
I miss when you spent 2-3d with a team. I feel like you, and subsequently we, really got to grasp with a team that way.
Aaron has a great fit today!
AyAyRon reference made me laugh. 🤣
I'd love to see tatsuguri with a working skill swap, seeing dondozo eat something like a gyarados or donphan would be hilarious
Think it would also be fun to see it on a swift swim/slush rush/sand rush/clorophyll pokemon. It has a lot of probably too powerful synergies & the ability to make opponents faster for trick room.
I know Espeon and Umbreon get skill swap as a TM because of their typing, but i think it would be fun to see the other eevelutions using it (i love jolteon and idk, sounds fun)
Aaron would you consider Brick Break on Medichan to deal with those screens that cause the issues?
Sand veil + bright powder Garchomp is amazing.
