One of the greatest guitarists of all time..no argument..and what about that Bass... a great band backing Rory..This is the real deal..No frills no gimmicks a legend sadly missed

This guy was and therefore IS class. Hendrix, Knopfler, Clapton, Andy Summers, Robert Fripp, Steve Howe... and yes, even Steve Hackett.......he eclipses them all
Rory was pure gem and far ahead of Hendrix Dylan Clapton .. they all are over exposed marketed well good musicians .. but Rory is like all of them roll in one .
One of the very few musicians you can never forget after seeing them perform live. It would never take him more than the first two songs to win an audience over, mesmerized as they were by the sheer exultant joy of playing to and for the people.
A buddy of mine dragged me to see Rory at UC Irvine in SoCal, 1977, and I had to buy the beers, unbelievable show, we were 12th row, blew my head off. Rory was so unique at that time, carving his own path, 'One of Us' playing what he loved. All my respect Rory, and thanks for such inspiring rock.
I had the pleasure of having a pint of the black stuff in Robinson's in Belfast late 70s with this Ulster born blues guitarist in my opinion he was a genius And is sorely missed. he brought both sides of the comunity together in concerts across all the UK and Ireland north and south. taken too early.

I got into Rory's music through an older cousin of mine, his mates and him used to follow Rory when he'd come back to play in Ireland. They used to travel from Tipperary up to the Belfast gigs because they reckoned he always seemed to play his best there.
Must have been 1975, I was still in high school. Heard “I Take What I Want” on the Detroit radio station (imagine. Real music on the radio), and was instantly hooked.
Never seen? This was the first time I saw Rory and became a fan! Thanks to my Irish parents who made me sit and watch this OGWT concert with them! From this I was hooked and lucky I got to see Rory a few times. Such brilliant slide geetar work! After watching this went and bought Against The Grain, Live In Europe, Irish Tour ☘️☘️🇮🇪🇮🇪☘️☘️
I saw this full concert on Australian television back in the late 70's. Changed my life. I got to see Rory on the "Top Priority" tour in Melbourne. He's one of the greatest ever for sure.
Rory was so good. Right up there with the best of them. And special because despite his ability he was so down to earth. A guitar god if ever there was one.

Caught a Rory set at the LoneStarCafe in NYC, mid 1980s. Left convinced I’d just seen a $20 show for a $12 ticket. That was the thing w Rory, he always gave more.
I am a big fan of Rory and was lucky to meet Rory backstage in the 70s after a concert in Amsterdam. 10 years ago in Zoetermeer (Holland) I was also allowed to speak to Gerry McAvoy after a concert of his Band with friends. These moments will stay in my memory forever.

Henry Ford the man who made some of the greatest cars to ever hit the road hailed from Co Corke Ireland, The Rory Gallegher also came from Co Cork Ireland and loved nothing better to head out towards to the Western Plain in a beat up ford and his guitar laying on the back seat

I was at the Cream farewell concert at the RAH in 1968. The support band was Yes, but the highlight of the evening for me was a long haired kid in a checked shirt who opened the show.
