My husband & I think S5 themes are revolved around marriage & mob. Lester told a story about his wedding day at the backyard and the fountain is their witness. Maybe after the wedding party, he went to the fountain, being nostalgic. But he noticed something or someone. The killer panicked and pushed Lester. He stumbled then hit his head on the fountain. There's a lady wearing blue dress in the wedding. She sat near Lester and then she is spotted again ordering a drink during Oliver & Loretta's dance. Is she related to Lester? Then the other mystery is Sofia came to the trio to find his missing husband. We knew that Arconia used to be a brothel. Charles even had a monologue about at least 19 bodies buried in Arconia. Maybe Sofia's husband has a connection to it?
I want to thank you as a creator for making Only Murders in the Building so much more fun! Getting an episode from you after the episodes airs has made it so much more fun! Also love this group of people who comment, such a lovely space to learn and share, Can’t wait for next season! Stay well Only Friends ❤
1) We didn't find out why the FBI was involved, very badly, may I say as they didn't even find Sazz's phone. 2) We didn't find out who put the small cameras connected to Sazz's phone in the apartments; we have to assume it was Marshall/Rex but we weren't given an answer to that. 3) How did Jan get hold of a rifle? Are we to believe they're kept everywhere in New York? 4) Why was Helga's face scratched out in the picture? She didn't do anything. It was just a cheap ploy to mislead the viewers: "it's Loretta, it's Sazz"... 5) Why would Sazz write the door code for Dudenoff's apartment in her script? That would be inviting the whole world to get into the apartment. 6) In fact, why would Sazz include the Westies in her script at all? If she knew about the rent fraud, she'd jeopardize them. 7) How did Bev know about the trampoline park? Was it in Sazz's script? I suppose Sazz's script can be used to fill all the plot holes. 8) Shouldn't the trio have asked to read the whole script since it portrayed them? They would've had all the answers, although if Marshall was clever enough, he would've removed these details. All in all, while I always enjoy the comedy aspect of the series, the relationship and the banter between the trio, from a murder mystery point of view this season was full of plot holes. The two left shoulder protheses in the incinerator were a coincidence too far. And the FBI of all people didn't spot it. A would be writer who becomes a stuntman and kills twice for a script is not believable in any shape or form, we're in the realm of the absurd here. Also, I'd rather see some of the older characters rather than the new celebrity cameos. As fun as they may be (I found Eva Longoria irritating and Zach Galifianakis did nothing for me - and yes, I'm familiar with their work), I've bonded with Oscar, Lucy, Theo, even cantankerous Uma. I'd rather see more of Uma than the celebrity cameos personally. Meryl Streep is a legend and I love seeing her but I suspect we won't see much of her next season, see New Zealand/Streep's real life commitments.
Agree with all your points. I don't think Marshall had the foresight to stash a camera in Charles's apartment in the 12 minutes between shooting Sazz, cleaning up the crime scene and incinerating her. And yet, he was reacting to everything that was happening in that apartment in his texts from Sazz's phone, so I guess he was watching them? And yeah, the thing that bothers me the most is why she would include the Dudenoff detail in her script (including the ACTUAL working door code). What script was she writing? I assumed it was season 1 of the podcast? I don't understand how she has this relationship with the Westies and all that. Why did she tell Helga that Marshall had been harassing her, when they were obviously so close? Why wouldn't Sazz have mentioned ANY of this to Charles at any point? Including all the "plot holes" she found from the first season. It's all so stupid!
@@lonelyoneI agree with everything you guys said, everything was a bit dumb this season, too much info and characters without pertinence. How on earth would the trio sign up for a movie without reading the script? Apparently everything was there. Wouldn’t they notice that only someone close would know so many details and not a kid from L.A.? And Sazz telling someone who betrayed her all her plans for the next day, that she was going to tell Charles, that she was going to the opening etc to Marshall?? And Marshall in the end getting killed through a blinded window?? The show has become too cartoonish. It had a cost feeling to it, but it kind of made sense. Also, I didn’t care for so many celebrity appearances this season. Meryl Streep was amazing singing in the previous season. But Eva Longoria, the others, George’s sister...just too much without real value. I did laugh out loud with the Christmas guy acting the jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise’s scene, that was hilarious. That was what I liked about the show, laughs while solving a misters plausibly in the background.
I agree with a lot of your plot hole points. However, I do believe some of these details will be addressed next season(I believe is also the last). The woman at the end claimed her husband’s death is closely tied to the Arconia. I think this is where the cameras, the FBI, possibly the “watching you” notes(unless we’re supposed to believe this was by Sazz or Marshall, which doesn’t make much sense)? I would also love to see older faces take the screen again! It was nice seeing Winnie, Dickie, and Oliver’s son this episode, albeit brief. Here’s to hoping season 5 is better!
Well I can answer a couple. 2) it’s not Marshall. It’s the person who poisoned Winnie and left the notes behind in season 1, we still don’t have the answer to it as it’s an over arching story throughout the series 3) Jan has prison ties so it could be possible that she has connections. Considering she’s been living in the Arconia it’s possible she got the gun before even going into Charles apartment. 4) it was not to tease the fans about if it’s Loretta or Sazz, those were fans speculating. It was simply to imply mystery behind the character. And it could simply be because the group and Helga were on a bad standing when she left 5 and 6) she didn’t personally know the group, she only knew Sazz. They know about Sazz THROUGH helga because Sazz was always on her ham radio. And the door code, it’s not really important tbh, if a actor in a movie says “oh my password is 1234” nobody watching is going to assume they could steal their phone and that’s going to be the actual password. And Marshall mentions that the westies were put into the movie basically as a b plot distraction of suspect, much like they were in this season. Season 1 truthfully didn’t have alot of main suspects except Teddy and Jan so Sazz could’ve introduced the west tower for new suspects 8) the script was constantly changing with rewrites from Marshall and he mentions as soon as he got the script he wrote out all of the details about the westies because he believed they were “unimportant”. Also next season I believe will focus more on people in the building due to the victim. This season had to focus on Hollywood because of Sazz and her connections, hence stuff like the movie and the cameos, but considering Lester is the new victim it’s likely to be centered around people he knew and the missing person they talk about
@@_peporo next year coincides with Steve Martins 80th birthday and he said that this would be his last hurrah. it brought him back to the start of his carreer and he had no worked in since he left the smothers bros.
So Mabel is quick to say to the Westies that she'll call DI Williams if they don't come clean with her, but doesn't call DI Williams when they find the cameras connected to Sazz's missing phone that are surveilling them? Why is the phone still missing? Who has it? Marshall or someone else? Why hasn't it been recovered? By the FBI or DI Williams? Even the trio could find a hacker somewhere who could track it down.
@@DoublePMediaboy they do have a lot of plot holes!! Weird!! IDR a lot of shows w plot holes that were never answered... Maybe lost.. and I loved that until I didn't smh
i think this season is maybe not the best, but the smartest. there were subtle but clear clues throughout. Previous seasons have been enjoyable but not as sophisticated. i have high hopes for season 5
I want to agree with it being smart, I really do. But I don't. It felt like watching a different show this time and I hope everyone's right in saying we'll get more answers in the final season. This one didn't do it for me and I hate to say that.
Things i want in season 5 1) catherine ohara 2) mabels aunt and maybe cookie sazz and charles ex 3) an explanation of all the connections of the seasons 4) more physical comedy for steve martin and martin short
It was such a dramatic moment when Marshall had explained everything and was about to shoot them and then he gets shot and I see Jan in the window and I burst out laughing LMAO
I liked the finale. I know I am super excited for season 5’s release! I am definitely going to rewatch the series until season 5 releases. I can’t believe it took me this long to find a community for Only Murders In The Building. I love it!
First thank you, Double P! You’re my favorite TH-camr that reviews OMITB. You’re brilliant. These season was fantastic. There were multiple times I wanted to stand up and applaud. 👏🏾 I believe this season was outstanding. Season 3 was also a MASTERCLASS in theatre. 🎭
Right? I feel like this season was sloppy. And the chances no one, in such a populated building, noticing either Marshall or Oliver and George walking on the ledge and calling the police. And shooting someone through a closed blinded window at the end?
Right? I feel like this season was sloppy. And the chances no one, in such a populated building, noticing either Marshall or Oliver and George walking on the ledge and calling the police. And shooting someone through a closed blinded window at the end?
I mean to give the writers credit ALOT of old people are very trusting. They mention Oliver just leaves his doors unlocked and my grandpas never lock their doors. If I was Charles and like 6 stories up I’d never consider “hey I should lock my windows incase someone shimmy’s across the entire courtyard after killing my best friend”
I'm still stuck on the part where Charles and Oliver crawled through Vince's window to get to Mabel, even though in episode 2 Vince said his windows were painted shut. If the writers completely forgot about it then fine, but I spent the last few minutes of the episode mulling over it for nothing lol It'd be a crazy plot twist if Uma was the one who wrote the notes, highly unlikely but still funny as hell; she's always in the building, still blames them for Bunny's death, and aside from her softer moments, she absolutely despises the trio. Ending my comment on a funny note, you know when Lester was talking about how he became a doorman in Season 2, I legitimately thought he was being sarcastic. 😅
Still don’t know who called Lester about the bullet hole, and suspicious that he delivered dry cleaning and the whole mob case is with a dry cleaning operation. Also did Marshall throw the body in a dry cleaning bag? Or was the missing bag due to something else? I think Lester got caught up with the dry cleaning operation
They didn't need any evidence that Marshall was a hunter. Marshall told us how great his vision was which would have led you down the same trail. I appreciate your more positive take on the finale. I feel like a lot of people online have these unrealistic standards that the mystery has to be air tight, super in depth, and really hard to solve BUT not so hard that it's impossible or too easy that it's solved well before the finale. Every murder has been solvable but OMITB is still a comedy first and a murder mystery second. Plus, I think a lot of fans forget that most people watching just watch the episode each week and then don't really think about it until the next week. So while guessing Marshall might have been easy for you or I, I doubt it was that simple for a casual viewer. To me, that's the sweet spot and I believe seasons 3 and 4 nailed that aspect. My only real complaint that I wanted something bigger to wrap up the season 4 mystery. If you're going to reveal the killer in episode 9, you should have some bigger reveal planned for episode 10 (besides the expected next murder). It's a bit disappointing that there were so many extra characters this season and none of them were in the finale or they were barely present. I'm excited for next season. I think some of these so-called plot threads will just never be picked up on again because they're not important. But I do believe that most of them will come back around. I just hope that fans don't get their expectations too high and end up disappointed if every little detail isn't explored and explained. And really, having it end with someone who was ever present throughout the series be the final season victim just makes sense. It's sad but it puts a bow on the whole show.
Sazz knew about the Dudenoff apartment because she looked into the plotholes in S1 when researching for the movie. She cut it from the script for the same reason the podcast trio cut the answer from their podcast - to protect the Westies, but not before Marshall already knew about it.
Thank you for reminding us this is a comedy!😂 Not Law & Order. This was an amazing season. I thought it was Bev Melon as well. My daughter knew it was Marshall from the moment he said “He was a fly on the wall.” I’m excited for Season 5.🤩
I honestly thought this season was kind of mid. But, on a character level- Oliver's wedding got a tear out of me and his relationship with charles felt sweet for the first time in the whole show. That being said, I was a little dissapointed the killer is revealed outright in episode 9 and episode 10 dosen't include any further crazy twist, just an info dump on how he did but some threads left hanging. Why was the apartment in Sazz's script?? what's the relevance of it if she's specifically adapting the tim kono case. They've could have added a line that said Jan had at some point used it to explain why Sazz is even putting it in the script or why she knows about it at all. Anyway, it seems next season might be the last one (who knows at this point) so i'll see you all here next year :) take care and thanks for the great videos double p
1,4,2,3. So sad that Lester is the next victim, but I'm excited to see his story. Sofia Cacimellio mentioned that her husband's disappearance has everything to do with the Arconia. Could the mob have bodies buried there, or maybe have worked with Teddy Dimas? Was Lester involved with the Cacimellio family or was he in the wrong place at the wrong time. Did you cath when Sofia said "couldn't find a doorman, I took a shot" and it looked like Lester was possibly shot.
08:43 They messed up the scene with Marshall going into Charles's home to see Sazz. The Westies were playing games when they heard the shot. It's closer to going over via Vince's place than the other way.
I loved season 4, it definitely was sloppy but i put my full trust in the producers and know they have a vision. Season 4 was clever, sure it had lots of plotholes and similarities but it was beautifully written and fleshed out Charles and Oliver, showing us more of their on-screen chemistry bts!
My season rankings - 2, 1, 3, 4. I was very happy with the conclusion of this season. Simple and effective and although some of the backstory wasn't hinted at I think they peppered enough in there for us to hint. By the time episode 8 happened they'd ruled enough suspects out we were only left with Marshall/Rex anyway. I loved Charles and Oliver in this finale, Charles especially tapping in for Sazz. There was lots of heart with those exchanges and with the wedding, I really enjoyed it. I was convinced Jan would be the next victim but poor Lester! I can't wait to learn more about his past!
I was a bit disappointed with this season. There are so many questions left unanswered. The finale felt quite rushed. WE STILL HAVEN'T CONFIRMED WHO POISONED WINNIE? They haven't really developed the love life of sazz mentioned by Helga. WHAT ARE THE ODDS TWO PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME JOINT REPLACEMENT END UP IN THE SAME INCINERATOR ??? Who was in Sazz's house when the trio went there..etc... and all the other questions have been mentioned by other Arconiacs in the comments . I kept waiting for the plot twist with Marshal as it was too obvious. They made it so obvious that i thought it wasn't him , maybe its a reverse psychology strategy. And yk , in the previous seasons, all the side stories were related to the main plot ... Season 1 : fire alarm, tye dye guy , dimas, cinda ( related to the next murder) Season 3 : the only side story that was not really related to the murder was Tobert although he provided the trio with some evidence/ clues .. But season 4 ??? They developed sooo much on the westies and they haven't contributed to the crime at all ??? Not even solving it ..just that " ding dong " part There was Charles sister.... Anywayss... I hope season 5 is better So sad about lester 🙁
The stuff about Winnie is dealing with the other all story, same with the cameras in their apartment so we weren’t going to get an answer until next season, and presumably the person in Sazz’s house was Marshall. My best guess was he was looking for her script considering he made a copy and changed his name, but Sazz hid it in the beer. I think they movement in Sazz’s house was meant to kinda confirm “hey be suspicious of the LA suspects”
I loved this season as it had so many twists and turns. It kept us on our toes, and we got to see so many different characters in the mix. There are still many unanswered questions, but overall, it just adds to the mystery of the Arconia. I will miss Glen Stubbins, Sazz, and alas Lester. I think the three main characters have really come a long way in their personal journeys since season one. They have grown emotionally through their friendship and their interactions with others. I can't wait for season five!
Saz’s note at the beginning of the script is suspicious. She mentions finding a hero and taking them on a journey but that things don’t always end as planned. When she says not everyone gets a happy ending, she’s not talking about herself. She wrote the script well before anyone even wanted to kill her. I think that alludes to Saz having a hand in orchestrating all the crazy stuff at the Arconia. Did she have a hand in pushing the “plot” forward? I don’t think we’re done with Saz’s storyline. And the fact that Saz read it out at the beginning and they showed it to us again later on... I think we’re supposed to be paying attention to what she’s saying
Also Marshall mentioned that Saz wrote a whole section on the Dudenoff apartment and the westies that he didn’t understand and took out of the script. & it was still never confirmed who the blonde with the pigtails was in that westies photo. I feel like Saz and Charles’ friendship was romanticized after her death. In reality she didn’t usually seem like a great friend during the show. Plus Mable is going to start working on a project about Saz so she may uncover more stuff next season. It all seems weird and like they’re trying to point to something… But they may just be loose ends
I was going to comment on your last video but decided not to until we got an explanation, I am so glad the killer was introduced in first episode unlike waiting until episode 3 to meet Jan in season 1. I hope next season they have a bunch of characters in episode 1 (new & old) & actually have them in every episode, unlike previous seasons where characters just disappear for multiple episodes :).
Wow, you expressed some of the questions I keep thinking about. You are quite perceptive and logical. Very intriguing summary of a compelling, engaging, always surprising show. We were taken by surprise by the murderer's background. Who knew he was raised by a hunter? That IS the point. How many of us know much about anyone else? Not surprising no one knew anything about him. Look at serial killers. Neighbors say they didn't know him well. Kept to himself. That's this character. So I offer that as my take on why the writers didn't divulge more info. Cos we can't always gets what we want! ;-)
DURING THE WEDDING I THINK I SAID OUT LOUD “IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO LESTER IM DONE” OML IM SO SAD ABOUT HIM 😭😭 season 5 BETTER give him the spotlight that sweet old man deserves Also I’m sooo excited for season 5 there will be so many unanswered questions figured out in that season! I can’t wait for these episodes to return!!!
I had fun this season! It was clever to have Marshall mislead the viewers. Burning Sazz's body was intriguing . Was Sazz really dead? Was she the target? What about all those plot holes? All clever ways to spur the conversation and make this season spicy! Agree, him scaling around outside is far fetched. But this show is a comedy first and a mystery second. Thanks for the amazing coverage. RIP Sazz. Now my fellow watchers, let's get justice for Lester! 🤔
Season 3 was the best. Was a complete season, had the best overall theme, all the guest stars had major stories to play, had the most longevity in terms of impact (Meryl and Paul Rudd both got to continue multiple seasons), and the music was gorgeous, and it had the best setting, and gave us a break from always being in the Arconia, and the killer's motivation made sense. Season 2 is second best because it's hella entertaining and you didnt know which way it would go because all the possibilities were open, and there was no formula yet. The part about the murder weapon coming back to them because the killer was framing them was a really amazing storyline that carried the middle half of the season, and we learned a lot about everyone's backstories that made us come to love these characters. Season 4 is third best so far because it kind of had a bit of everything, but didnt pull it off as effectively as the other two seasons. The Westies ultimately ended up being pointless, Dudenoff didnt lead to anything major, and was mostly a waste of time whereas Season 2 and 3 knew how to redirect your attention effectively. It was the most stae studded season by far but because there were so many it was mostly like stunt casting and everyone struggling for proper airtime, so they all had a tiny role that didnt do much. This season was a whole lotta flash, not a lot of substance. And honestly, Marshall's motivation was terrible and i didnt buy him with a rifle and climbing the ledge with no fear of heights at all. I can believe a Broadway producer with cancer killing to keep her son's career afloat to prevent a flop in S3, but a choice between assassin or writer, and becoming a stuntman but you were kicked out from set but yet you can climb ledges no problem? It makes no sense. And Season 1 was the worst because they were still figuring out how to make the show entertaining. Its really slow most of the time, but with a really strong ending, and the atmosphere had not really caught on yet.
@@edselgreaves6503 I think season 1 was better than 4 because they figured Jan out and Charles tried to out maneuver her but she was formidable and changed it up. I liked the Dimas mysteries too better than the Dudenoff one because it connected better the past to the present situations whereas the Dudenoff one was not directly related as far as we can tell still
LOL you had all season to get used to it. You better start feeling sad about the fact that Season 5 is the last season.... After that, no more Sazz, no more series!
@@edselgreaves6503 Has it been confirmed anywhere that season 5 is the last? Anyway, I think all of us were in denial about Sazz because we never saw the body up until this point, so there was still a chance she might have lived.
@@lonelyone they might do a Season 6 because the show has been such a big success, but yeah the creators have said before they envisioned 5 seasons for the show. Streaming services don't really like to keep a show too long even if it is successful because they measure their growth with new subscribers, so after a certain point they value returning subscribers less even when some shows become popular.
And now Lester? The show looses his credibility if every season people in the building die, IMO. I know that’s the name of the show, but they could have come up with something more cleaver than, sadly, Lester’s body in the fountain. The missing husband could, for example, track back to one the past crimes, uncovering something we didn’t knew, or be related to the building without an obvious murder at the end of the season.
Rank: 1 2 3 4. The show becomes more exaggerated as it goes (which happens to a lot of comedy shows - friends is a good example of that). 4 specifically was all over the place story-wise. More new characters than they had room for. They could do with tidying the cast in s5. The gravitas of 4x10 reminded me that every episode used to have that.
I agree that by now there are too many characters. It’s always good to have more than just the final suspects, but it was too much, the sister, the brother in law, the movie crew, the brothers sisters, bakula, helga, Dudenoff, Marshall, bev, Marshall, the westies, the regulars Howard and uma, etc, the movie cast, etc etc. and we already are attached to some other characters that disappeared like the son of the Dimas (forgot the name) specially if they assign a famous actor to each secondary character it becomes too much In my opinion. For example, imagine if in season 1 when they go to the tattoo shop, everybody was a famous actor there. Even the adolescent friends of Mabel, Tim Konos and the other weren’t famous actors, it becomes too much.
For my rankings, I have: 1. Season 1 - The good thing with this season is that they basically solves two murders in one since Tim was linked to both in some way. The trio was fun as they were just getting to know each other, and I felt like there was new evidence being found every episode that linked to either one or both of the murders. I liked how they left certain evidence like Tim's relationship with Jan until the latter bits of the season because that the key bit of evidence left to solve that case. Teddy and Theo I also greatly enjoyed in this season as it was interesting watching them go from friends to enemies after they realized the trio was on to them. 2. Season 4 - I feel like this season is in a way quite similar to season one where there were two deaths, but the Dudenoff apartment was the link between them this time. I feel like people expected way too much of this finale when it has been known that writers have kept the murder details relatively simple each season. I also liked how they tried to paint Marshall as a writer with imposter syndrome by stating he's trying to not just be a writer but look like one too, only for his real imposter syndrome being a guy who is taking credit for a script he didn't write. I like how they left some details for his full background and motive out until the last episode. Honestly, the only episode I felt wasn't really needed was the Valley of the Dolls episode. 3. Season 2 - This season is unique with the fact that Poppy not being fully revealed as the killer until the finale was great. However, I got very suspicious of her from episode 6 onward mainly due to the fact that she was in a state of panic calling Mabel after the glitter bomb. You could tell Poppy held herself relatively stable after any interaction with Cinda no matter good or bad, and seeing that made you very suspicious of her the entire second half of the season which kinda brought down the mystery element for me. The Rose Cooper side plot for me was interesting, but didn't hold the impact that the Zoey murder had in Season 1. 4. Season 3 - This season was almost too simple in regards to the murder mystery. I'm not lying when I say I could tell Cliff was involved from the first episode after seeing Ben and Cliff interact at the dinner party. It also felt like there were multiple episodes where there was no new evidence being found. From episode 5 until episode 9, it felt like all those episodes were just filler. Especially once they zoned in on Donna in episode 9, I knew how episode 10 was gonna go revealing that Cliff pushed him down the elevator shaft because he didn't want his mom to go to jail. The relationship between the two deaths was quite easy to figure out. Even though this is my least favorite of the seasons, I still enjoyed it greatly especially since that Pickwick Triplets song is still too catchy.
I enjoyed the last episode of this season. Thank you for doing a tribute for Lester❤ And pointing out that Kamala watches OmitB!💙 I didn't enjoy the brutal murder of Lester, Glenn, or even Sazz. I wish they would stop putting those on Camera. That is not how I want to remember any one them. What I truly enjoyed about this episode was Charles and Oliver ledge dancing to save Mabel. Vince and Rudy's hilarious distraction to save the trio. The Wedding of Wonder and connection of community and friends. I feel a bit guilty about Lester, having suspected him of being the mastermind. RIP Lester, I hope we see more of you in Season 5. Love your podcast. Looking forward to season 5 with you.
I believe that the Moriarty of the show took Sazz’s phone, Marshall never admitted to doing it. I guess the Moriarty was looking through the cameras they placed and saw the murder and was like “Hey, I could use this!”
Do you think Howard is the Moriarty of the show? He is there from the beginning, always in the intro, is friends with the trio, knows his way around the building, etc
I am wondering if season five is going to tie up all sorts of loose ends, like the brothel, and if there will be more to the Westies story line, and Lesters story. And if there is a mafia plot that will be woven into the Arconia story. The writers of the show are so clever, I’m sure they have a lot that they would like to finish up in this last season, if it is the last season. And if Charles will get a new love interest!
I am so happy that the “there has to be two people” line threw all of us for a loop. I should’ve been more suspicious of whole Marshall helping them considering the last time they did it was with Jen, but even after Marshall was revealed last episode my first thought was “well then who helped him”. I never thought about the footprint on the radiator being him stepping on it to get out the window After having a duo in season 2 and kinda a duo in season 3, I was kinda upset by the fact that they were going to do it again. Same reason why I was upset by the idea of Loretta doing it because I didn’t want a “scorned lover of one of the main characters” sort of story like season 1
I like the idea that the Cachamellio family was responsible for the 6th Ave Slasher! That could be why Sophia said the disappearance of her husband had “everything” to do with the Arconia. When the trio told her they weren’t a detective agency and only investigated murders IN the building, she had mentioned that there was “no doorman on duty” at the time. That leads me to think she isn’t the one who killed him, although it is heavily implied that she may have been behind a murder to enlist the trio’s help. I wonder if Lester’s murder and the brutality of it was less about him being murdered for a particular reason and more about him being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It feels like a “mob hit”, so my tin foil hat theory, similar to yours, is that Sophia’s husband was the 6th Ave Slasher. Or he knew who was and it was someone from “the family” and has gone missing because he literally knows where the bodies are buried. In going to check the Arconia for the proof, he comes across Lester and kills him to protect himself. One last thing: I’m assuming the “I’m watching you” text was from someone who had read the script Sazz wrote and knew about it from the script - not necessarily the same person. So Marshall may have sent the text and placed a camera because he knew about the Season 1 note.
Speaking of planting clues to point to Marshall being a hunter, I clocked a clue about his perfect vision early on and he became my number 1 suspect ever since then. And then yes, the big clue from Ben recognizing him sealed the guess. This season wasn't my favorite by a long shot, I think I'm actually placing it as either 4th or 3rd. I loved season 1 and season 2.
I haven't been so disappointed by a reveal since The Afterparty season 2. Probably because most of us guessed it was Marshall since episode 5. And we were made to believe he had an accomplice, so this final episode didn't offer any new twists. As for next season, I feel bad that Lester is gone, but obviously he has to have some ties to the mob. He's probably been keeping secrets of the Arconia for years. I wonder if Sofia Caccimelio is the one who did him in, because she was trying to hire the trio, but that seems too obvious (and too early to speculate). Anyway...I'll see y'all next year.
My wrong thoughts "Sazz committed suicide" and "Marshall has an accomplice" came from out impossible the crime and clean up was --- Marshall walking around the ledge is solution that leaves me a bit disappointed too.
Season 4 is probably my favorite. I loved all the guest stars and I thought the mystery was really good. Season 1 was probably my second favorite because that’s where were introduced to the characters and the world- and I found the last few episodes the most exciting. Season 2 is close to season 1 as far as my favorites go. I liked this mystery because I solved it and I think it’s one of the funniest seasons… but I felt like the ending was a little disappointing. And Season 3 was my least favorite. It was funny but I felt less connected to the victim and the new characters. I thought this season was the funniest and I really like Sazz and Bunny- so they were my favorite victims- it was nice to have a full season devoted to them. And I’m excited to see Lester’s story told the same way.
Thank you very much for the ride Double p i loved it! I enjoyed this finale a lot even though this time around, it was obvious about 4 episodes ago that Marshall was involved. Poor Lester! I actually thought he was the big baddie so yeah am sorry guys
after a couple episodes I knew it was Marshall.. when I heard in an episode Saz called Bev.. I kind of put 2 and 2 together and realized it was hm but there is more to the story that wasn't answered.. Like the cameras, the phone, I can only assume it was Marshall.. I assume he went around the ledge to sneak in the windows for the cameras if he was the one who did it.. but they put in here that someone was watching them and leaving the same notes from season 1.... so who is it... is it the new lady's husband... I forgot about the slasher.... I wonder if the fan group will be back! also, im sad we didnt have one killer questions this year
I think we are to assume that the Westie sub plot the crew investigates this season, was the subplot that Marshall cut out of the final script. That's why Sazz was researching "Plot holes". For someone adapting the events of the podcast, these inconsistencies could add up, and Sazz is a pretty forward and proactive person, so I could understand her really getting into the details and trying to figure out what else was going on at the time. It is a stretch to imagine that she would put the code to the apartment in the script, but maybe we can excuse that as an error of a first time screenwriter.
@@DoublePMedia Right, it would definitely take some leaps of logic. I wonder if what Sazz wanted to tell Charles was not just that she wrote a screen play, but that she found evidence of another death at the Arconia. I assume that since Sazz only really interacted with Helga, she didn't know the full extent of Dudenoff's disappearance, and assumed it to be criminal.
This season left much open-ended! But for now I will say this. The part when Marshall went to Sazz's apartment about the script...she said something very interesting about Bev Melon. "Who?" Sazz didn't know who Bev Melon is! I think this may be important. I can't wait for season 5. Until then OMITB'ers!
I thought that was implied in the voicemail Sazz left for her when she introduced herself and said "I'm told you're the one to talk to" concerning the big problem with the Only Murders movie.
@@dugferd2266 Ah....then we definitely need to keep Bev in our minds. I'm definitely going to do a re-watch of OMITB before S5. Every detail is important.
@@GenXMind67 sigh that’s a good question, i really hope they release it like super fast LOL Idk how i can just sit here and wait for my boy Lester to be avenged
I love this show but I can’t help feel a little disappointed with the ending. Maybe I made it too complicated in my head but for Marshall to just fly to New York on a whim, with a rifle, remember the apartment; code; incinerator that he deleted from the screen play, then climb the ledge across to a window that probably would have been locked (not to mention when they pan out the ledge actually stops at the green windows in different locations so that would have been impossible); past a bunch of other windows that people could have seen him and then spend half the episode just telling the hero’s the exposition instead of them discovering it; not to mention Jan had been in the building the whole time - also with a rifle?? Just seemed like the mystery was written as more of a “gotcha” than anything. Step dragging on the ledge was hilarious though and I’m still looking forward to Season 5 when hopefully my suspicions of Cinda Canning come to fruition lol
@@Jorizzle22 Why kill Bunny? How would she make money by killing het. Yes she wanted her own podcast but Cida was in her way. I could see motive to kill Cinda
@cheri7054 I didn't mean she killed Bunny for money, I just meant they wanted another murder. One, to help Cinda's podcast (and by extension, herself-Poppy) and two, so the corrupt cop could get a promotion. It didn't necessarily have to be Bunny, you're absolutely right about that. Cinda would've been the most obvious choice, for sure.
My theory is about how she knew about the code while writing the script was because she was multitasking, she was playing detective with Helga while playing writer at the same time, that was why she was talking to Helga about Rex/Pope
Loose ends: Who poisoned Winnie Who left the note on Oliver and Jans door Who tried to drop sandbags on Charles in season 3 Who was watching them with the cameras in season 4 Who had Sazz’s phone Who lured Howard out of the dudenoff apartment Might have missed one
I'm going to be missing my weekly fix of Arconia shenanigans. All the clues we have, all the connections the actors made from the previous seasons (They WERE poking fun at us!) ... and it comes down to a comment about how great of eyesight Marshall has. The other clues about Marshall only point to the fact he's not who he says he is, Glenn commenting on the beard, his horrible scrip writing abilities - but they don't point to him as the murderer. Was it a Clark Kent thing? He puts on the glasses and becomes a clumsy mild mannered writer, when he's really a parkour jumping, super strong, sharpshooting stuntman when he takes them off? Of all the scenes where people were carrying equipment around, we could have seen him helping out in the background. He could have made an off hand comment about his father's hunting habits or how this script was going to finally impress his dad. We could have even seen a "script writing for dummies" book on Sazz's desk. Don't get me wrong, I love this show. I love speculating and trying to piece it together. But the fact is, it is still 95% inferred clues and speculation and "what if" until the killer is actually revealed. Glad they get confessions or nothing would hold up in court. LOL PS. I'm sad to see Lester go. 😭 I hope we see him in many flashbacks next season. And Congrats to Oliver & Loretta. ❤
I think the big big clue for Marshall was that he wore copycat glasses of Sazz. Of course, it wasn't pointed out! But, I think we were supposed to pick up on that.
They set up a Big Bad for season 5 as someone's watching them, but there's no hint of anything. It's wild to me they just accept there was one killer, after they went out of the way to say it was two. The idea that someone is pulling the strings since season 1 is great. But, given how they just plant and drop things, I have no faith it'll resolve in a logical and entertaining way. I think the writer's room spends too much time trying to come up with bad puns like: The Brothers Sisters instead of planting clues.
@@DoublePMedia You hate to see our boy Lester get bumped off, but it does create a fantastic character to follow. I think there's something in the fact that Charles never wanted to listen to his stories--and now we get see what a rich life he actually led. Maybe Charles will learn not brush by people so much.
1, 4, 3, 2. Lester's last name is Doorman, but sure, that could be a cover. It's probably too easy if his last name is Caccimelio. Also, didn't the building get security cameras placed all over it? So why wouldn't have the cameras in the courtyard captured his murder? I wonder if the Caputo crime family has ties to Mabel's deceased father and/or aunt. In a flashback in season 2, the episode with puzzle pieces, Mabel's father was dressed in suspicious clothing and holding his abdomen. It's also strange that he didn't want to be seen with his daughter outside, and [they] had him on crazy schedule"
I wish I could, but I need a break (working some long hours for my job last weekend, and thru election stuff) --- I read the Marlow Murders book, and it's fun.
I suspect that all the holes in the script [like who poisoned Winnie, who installed the cameras, etc] are saved for the final reason whenever they choose to end OMITB. That all the clues from each season is going to be used for the final plot. We'll see I suppose.
Think you're correct -- will s5 be the final season as they've implied? --- or are they having too much fun and want to continue for a while longer...?
The mystery parts of OMITB has consistently frustrated me, with important clues not revealed until the end and storylines not wrapped up, too much deus ex machina, but I still love it for the comedy writing. The Billy Joel doorbell alone is enough to make this season enjoyable for me.
Right now I think our favorite detective is the killer, or at least wanted to stop the podcast. Narratively, she got a good chunk of intro time in season 1, and that could easily “transfer” as supporting her murderer backstory reveal! I have not gone back to watch, but it feels like a good lead!
1st: season 3 really liked the theater kind of vibe for this and was just a great mystery 2nd: season 1 basically perfect but I just liked season three more 3rd: season 4 such a good season but a very unsatisfying finale 4th: season 2 only thing I liked was the confession
It’s fine to have Marshall as the sole killer. But the ending was not satisfying enough, like you mentioned no explanations on the script, how Marshall got to know what he knew and how he got to dispose off the body. It felt like Marshall himself wrote the last episode 😅 Usually there’d be some symbolism of sorts that would be associated with the killer’s name. I couldn’t find any for Marshall or pope. Did anyone find any ?
They introduced too many characters and too many pointless plots and loose ends that never went anywhere. That's why it's so unsatisfying. Plus so many of us were suspecting him since episode 5. I was hoping for another twist, or at least an accomplice that we had to figure out. It's very disappointing how we had to cram in 20 minutes of exposition just to explain WHY he did it in this episode, since they decided to hide the clues from the audience for the first 9 episodes.
Yeah the one sentence saying Sazz had this extra plot about Dudenoff he edited out and knew how to get inside apartment and why on earth bring a fireproof vest to snipe someone??😜😩 That's manic, hurry up, hang a lantern on it writing for a finale of this magnitude. Very disappointed in episodes 9-10. Felt like when a writer dies and another person finishes the book and it's just not good or believable.🤷
After I posted the video, I thought "Marshall grabbed a red eye to NYC from Los Angeles, purchased a sniper rifle in NYC , got to the Arconia before Sazz".... only in America :)
@@DoublePMedia seems to me, Marshall's copycat glasses of Sazz's glasses were the clue we were supposed to catch. But, alas, they didn't point them out, so.....???????
I think this season had a problem not going off too far from the main plot and especially in terms of balancing jokes/wackiness and seriousness. However, there were some of my favourite episodes in here (when they found Sazz' ashes... goosebumps! Also the camera episode), and I also respect how both the last episode kept the tension high even when the killer was already found/dead, through hinting that Mable or Loretta could be the next murder victims. Then again, the deus ex machina killing of Marshall... dunno. I think the writers had a big task to put Dudenoff and the movie into one story, and did it mostly well, but some characters (like Helga) were a bit too strange and disappointing. Glenn Stubbon's ridiculous accent also may have thrown some people off
Add me to the crew that was mainly disappointed with Season 4. The Guest Stars and comedy bits seem to be the main focus to the season; the episodes were only 30 minutes long; and while it teased a series-long “Big Bad” who may be out to kill Charles/all of the Trio, the S4 storyline did not (apparently) advance that mystery. I say the Big Bad Mystery was “apparently” not advanced, because one possibility is that all of S4 was a set-up for S5, where the Big Bad will be the main focus-and there are clues in S4 that we will need to use to solve the mystery. That would explain all the false clues/unresolved questions in S4; some of them you mentioned. Looking forward, the possible connection between the Big Bad & Tea Leoni’s “Sophia” & Lester can be woven into a satisfying storyline. Especially if Charles (who immediately spoke about his attraction to “Sophia”) becomes romantically involved with a woman who is part of a Mob “Cleaner”/Hitman squad-that may have included Lester. My pre-season theories for S5. First, as you & many others have suggested, the Trio is in danger b/c they solves crimes at the Arconia-and the Mob has used the Arconia as a burial site for its murder victims; and is afraid the bodies will be discovered, and implicate the Mob. Also, while I know my personal obsession is people being alive who we thought were dead, I’m holding onto my theory that Dudenoff is NOT dead-and is part of the Mob Hit Squad, and faked his death to disappear from the Mob & the police. Dudenoff is the Big Bad…and it might be fun if he appears in S5 in a disguise as a different, new character before we see him take off his make-up in a mid-season episode. Bottom line: although I’m disappointed in S4, they can make it right by connecting the loose ends to S5. Thanks for hosting S4 conversations on OMITB.
I *hope* the Arconia Big Bad will truly tie into the Lester/Sophia storyline... but I wonder if they're 2 separate stories like the Westies and the Hollywood crew were this season
Something im also confused, Jan knew about Marshall or did she hear charles talking ? Did she escape to find the killer of her lover ? How did she have such a good aim ? Where did she learn how to use such weapons? WHERE DID SHE GET IT? also ... I think the bag that charles lost is related to S5
I should watch the whole video before commenting, I end up commenting too much separated comments BUT, although I am someone who always critiques so many cameos, I am SO EXCITED for TEA LEONI, it will be great!!!
Im sad we had no Theo this season. I also expected we’d learn more about the Moriarty character. And I feel that they hint left and right to distract you. Bev Melon was so weird, especially about Mabel, and it lead to nothing…
My vote for best seasons are: 1A Season 1-4 Episodes 1-9 are all great 1B Season 3 (best overall) 2. Season 1 (finale was hilarious but reveal was a little disappointing because of some plot holes) 3. Season 2 (murder and murderer didn’t make a lot of sense but finale was very creative and hilarious) 4. Season 4 (disappointing reveal and finale. Hero’s were just told what happened instead of figuring it out and there was like 25 minutes of show just left on the floor that could have made it better. Bad taste in my mouth after that one)
The last episode was so weak that it seems suspicious. Throughout the entire series, including the fourth season, we saw a very well crafted script, well thought out dialogue, incredible performances and very clean and elegant comedy. The simplicity of the season finale doesn't match what we've seen. I was expecting a good ding dong, not solutions like: Mabel: You're very fit for a writer or Sazz: You're the only one who knows and my only copy and lastly, Jane waving from the other side of the building.... It seems they were in a hurry to close the season, however, once an Arconian, always an Arconian. Forever loyal to OMITB and Double P Media theories :D
A lot of positives with this series and overall it was a satisfying ending. I wish we got more of Sazz being a writer and Rex’s past scattered earlier to make it believable. I also really hope that series 5 reduces cameos. Maybe it’s a British thing, but none of them stuck with me and it became utterly annoying at times. Let’s stick the Arconia too.
Good thoughts. I do imagine less cameos, however in one of the post season interviews, the co-creator John Hoffman said that he's getting celebrities calling him, asking to be on the show
@@DoublePMedia that’s good in the sense that there is a demand for the show to last as it is really good at it’s core. The examples I’ll use from last series would be Ron Howard and John McEnroe. The use of Ron Howard worked as it was directly involved with the plot and was plausible, the tennis one just seemed utterly forced. I also want more of a focus on the original characters too. We’ve seen a lot of Lester, now is our chance to get to know him.
I was a bit disappointed with this season while I really enjoyed 1, 2, 3. Many questions remain unanswered. Episode 9 came out of nowhere: suddenly Marshall is a hunter/sniper, and Sazz is a writer... Sure... 😅 (No, just having good eyesight doesn’t make you a sniper). The whole crime plot actually doesn’t make much sense... Using a sniper rifle in the Arconia, even though there was no plan for Sazz to be alone in Charles's apartment; she could have told Charles earlier at the party, stayed out of sight the entire night, etc. It was a really poor plan to keep her from revealing his secret. Thankfully, following this trio is always a pleasure :)
Jan shooting Marshall through a window blind was what I disliked most. The shooting of Sazz also didn’t make much sense...he could most easily do it back in L.A. without being caught...
Favorite seasons: 3, 4, 1, 2. I enjoyed them all, but season 2 was a little too grim and I didn't like the 'killer reveal party' as much as other final confrontations. You say a stunt person would never do something as crazy as walk a ledge at night. Yes, but Marshall wasn't the picture of sanity. His recklessness ruined his career as a stunt person, and he sold Sazz' script as his own work without ever considering that he might get caught, And the subject of this script was a trio whose claim to fame was solving murders! So, what does he do? What's his solution? Murder a friend of one of these detectives in his own apartment! No, Marshall was too impulsive for his own good. I really hope season 5 isn't the final season. I enjoy this show so much, and would be sad to see it go.
So.that happened. This is something of a letdown of a season, not because I guessed incorrectly. Everything will be chalked up to the ‘Writers’ Strike’. I liked the confrontation, how it wasn’t funny or showy in the ‘gather all the suspects’ kind of way, since we are dealing with a personal loss of a likable character. It reminded me of Hitchcock’s ‘Rear Window’ (a must watch for mystery/suspense) but this plays so improbably: no accomplice, and Marshall scaled a ledge at NIGHT without falling? IS Jan arrested for another murder, or justifiable homicide? I guess the gun with Rex’s prints is proof enough, but can they prove he killed Sazz now that he’s dead? Wouldn’t Sazz at least change the combination to the room for security purposes? With no copyright to prove the script was stolen, she had more reason to kill him than vice versa! Sazz may have seemed like a better writer bc she wrote what she knew, and many writers advise ‘write what you know’. It was touching watching Charles confront his fear of heights to confront Sazz’s killer and save Mabel.
So - Marshall had cameras in the apartments? was that ever made clear? And what about Bev Melon and the gun? And what was Mable's requirements for signing away her life rights?
You know in season 2 they showed the day Bunny died. If they do the same and show Lester's life and what happened and how it happened it could get real dark. His scene looked terrible and frankly I don't want to see how he suffered.
Season 4 was good though the ending was a bit of love and hate. I love that we will have more character development about Lester in season 5. Along with the sub plot being solved because it’ll go hand and hand. I think season 6 would be cool if Jan is killed because she knows who’s after the trio. But I believe season 5 will be just as good as long as they help us to care and have a better understanding of Lester like we did with Tim kono
WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE SEASON FINALE? ANY IDEA WHO S5’S KILLER IS?
@yoandr Married to the Mob makes perfect sense.
@@yoandr I agree. And Big Mike will make an appearance
I want to thank you as a creator for making Only Murders in the Building so much more fun! Getting an episode from you after the episodes airs has made it so much more fun!
Also love this group of people who comment, such a lovely space to learn and share, Can’t wait for next season! Stay well Only Friends ❤
As always, the Arconia lobby will always have the light on!
It’s the person who poisoned Winnie and left the notes behind in season 1, we still don’t have the answer to it as it’s an over arching story throughout the series
3) Jan has prison ties so it could be possible that she has connections. Considering she’s been living in the Arconia it’s possible she got the gun before even going into Charles apartment.
4) it was not to tease the fans about if it’s Loretta or Sazz, those were fans speculating. It was simply to imply mystery behind the character. And it could simply be because the group and Helga were on a bad standing when she left
5 and 6) she didn’t personally know the group, she only knew Sazz. Season 1 truthfully didn’t have alot of main suspects except Teddy and Jan so Sazz could’ve introduced the west tower for new suspects
8) the script was constantly changing with rewrites from Marshall and he mentions as soon as he got the script he wrote out all of the details about the westies because he believed they were “unimportant”.
I think we the audience put more thought into this season and the clues than the writers did
Gonna believe s5 is going to knock it out of the park!
You're absolutely right 🙄
Did they just gloss over the fact that someone threatening them is surveiling the entire building still? Did I miss that being resolved?
Wonderful question - As I mentioned, we may have to assume many things to close the loop on this season
Definitely something they've left for next season
That person is probably the Moriarty and we are gonna solve this in season 5
i think this season is maybe not the best, but the smartest. there were subtle but clear clues throughout. Previous seasons have been enjoyable but not as sophisticated. i have high hopes for season 5
Nothing from season 1 or 2 was answered
It was an exciting final episode but it just didn’t answer the questions we all had which was a bit disappointing
I think the lingering questions were deliberate and will be answered in season 5
I want to agree with it being smart, I really do. But I don't. It felt like watching a different show this time and I hope everyone's right in saying we'll get more answers in the final season. This one didn't do it for me and I hate to say that.

1) catherine ohara
2) mabels aunt and maybe cookie sazz and charles ex
3) an explanation of all the connections of the seasons
4) more physical comedy for steve martin and martin short
Great list, det. Heather. If we have to hire Charles' limo driver to get Catherine O'Hara to the set, I'm willing to start the venmo :)
Catherine O’Hara! Yesssssssss!
I love it!
Agree that s5 could really tie things up in an exciting way!

Wow, thank you! For me, I'll remember some of my favorite big laughs from this season, the spit take/punch still cracks me up
@@DoublePMediathat cracked me up as well. That and Oliver running from the West side of the building to the East side. In 38 minutes 😂
I was so sad Lester was killed! He was so nice to everyone and he minded his business! Taking mental notes but still!!
100% The show almost did him dirty
I didn't like that Marshall was able to open Charles' window from the outside.
Right? I feel like this season was sloppy. And the chances no one, in such a populated building, noticing either Marshall or Oliver and George walking on the ledge and calling the police. And shooting someone through a closed blinded window at the end?
convenient for him, for sure
Right? I feel like this season was sloppy. And the chances no one, in such a populated building, noticing either Marshall or Oliver and George walking on the ledge and calling the police. And shooting someone through a closed blinded window at the end?
There are lot of plot holes, they didn't even show how he carried Saz to the underground. They just wanted to show a murder without proper explanation
If the writers completely forgot about it then fine, but I spent the last few minutes of the episode mulling over it for nothing lol
It'd be a crazy plot twist if Uma was the one who wrote the notes, highly unlikely but still funny as hell; she's always in the building, still blames them for Bunny's death, and aside from her softer moments, she absolutely despises the trio.
Ending my comment on a funny note, you know when Lester was talking about how he became a doorman in Season 2, I legitimately thought he was being sarcastic. 😅
They managed to open the window when they got the drone
You gave such a great description of everything we already know about Lester! So interesting that all of that has been shared about him so far.
Yes! Hopefully season 5 celebrates our favorite Doorman

That sounds correct. If the dry cleaning mob took down Lester, we're going to need them to go down like Scarface :)
Marshall said he cut it from the script. Right?????
We'll never get an answer, but how would Sazz tie the Westie storyline into the Tim Kono murder mystery? Does Poppy/Becky appear in Sazz's script?
Thank you for reminding us this is a comedy!😂 Not Law & Order. This was an amazing season. I thought it was Bev Melon as well. My daughter knew it was Marshall from the moment he said “He was a fly on the wall.” I’m excited for Season 5.🤩
The Law & Order cops need to come protect the Arconia from all this crime :)

But were they in Vince's place when they were playing cards and heard the shot? Maybe that's why he went around the long way.

Thank you so much!
I loved season 4, it definitely was sloppy but i put my full trust in the producers and know they have a vision. Season 4 was clever, sure it had lots of plotholes and similarities but it was beautifully written and fleshed out Charles and Oliver, showing us more of their on-screen chemistry bts!
Charles, Mabel and Oliver going to deliver in Season 5, for sure
I agree the bond between the podcast trio is the best
Season 1 : fire alarm, tye dye guy , dimas, cinda ( related to the next murder)
Season 3 : the only side story that was not really related to the murder was Tobert although he provided the trio with some evidence/ clues ..
But season 4 ???
They developed sooo much on the westies and they haven't contributed to the crime at all ??? Not even solving it ..just that " ding dong " part
There was Charles sister....
Anywayss... I hope season 5 is better
So sad about lester 🙁
The stuff about Winnie is dealing with the other all story, same with the cameras in their apartment so we weren’t going to get an answer until next season, and presumably the person in Sazz’s house was Marshall. My best guess was he was looking for her script considering he made a copy and changed his name, but Sazz hid it in the beer. I think they movement in Sazz’s house was meant to kinda confirm “hey be suspicious of the LA suspects”
@@liluziintrovert yhea i just saw this on reddit , I really hope they elaborate all of this in s5 ❤️
I want to say, at this point, they should have the answer be Winnie poisoned herself for attention :)
Yes!!!!
I would hated It if Lester is a villain, I hope he's just a good guy in a bad situation.
YES YES YES - OMITB producers listen to Vanessa!
It's been fun watching this season with you
Thank you!!!
True! The beginning of the season gave me some HUGE laughs.
Can't wait for your videos on the next season and any whodunnit series that comes along the way!
Thank you! I'll keep you posted Detective!
Well, it should be that...but, probably they will just leave it hanging there with no resolution.😕
BRILLIANT OBSERVATION - maybe Tim Kono didn't get the happy ending? Maybe Charles' chance with Jan didn't lead to a happy ending?
Also Marshall mentioned that Saz wrote a whole section on the Dudenoff apartment and the westies that he didn’t understand and took out of the script. & it was still never confirmed who the blonde with the pigtails was in that westies photo. I feel like Saz and Charles’ friendship was romanticized after her death. In reality she didn’t usually seem like a great friend during the show. Plus Mable is going to start working on a project about Saz so she may uncover more stuff next season. It all seems weird and like they’re trying to point to something… But they may just be loose ends
I've decided that Marshall wrote episode 10.
LOL - Rex is adding to his imdb page :)
Agree with you 100% Detective
Wow, you expressed some of the questions I keep thinking about. You are quite perceptive and logical. Very intriguing summary of a compelling, engaging, always surprising show.
We were taken by surprise by the murderer's background. Who knew he was raised by a hunter?
That IS the point. How many of us know much about anyone else? Not surprising no one knew anything about him.
Look at serial killers. Neighbors say they didn't know him well. Kept to himself. That's this character.
So I offer that as my take on why the writers didn't divulge more info. Cos we can't always gets what we want! ;-)
But sometimes, we get what we neeed :)
DURING THE WEDDING I THINK I SAID OUT LOUD “IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO LESTER IM DONE” OML IM SO SAD ABOUT HIM 😭😭 season 5 BETTER give him the spotlight that sweet old man deserves
Also I’m sooo excited for season 5 there will be so many unanswered questions figured out in that season!
RIP Sazz! Long Live Lester! :)
The musical alone was worth the watch! Award winning and clever. Great homage to theatre/ Broadway
Good ranking!
I think I agree 100%
I'm not committed to my ranking, except that Season 3 was definitely my favorite.
@@edselgreaves6503 I think season 1 was better than 4 because they figured Jan out and Charles tried to out maneuver her but she was formidable and changed it up. I liked the Dimas mysteries too better than the Dudenoff one because it connected better the past to the present situations whereas the Dudenoff one was not directly related as far as we can tell still
im still in disbelief that Sazz is gone... why would they do that to her??? Of all the crazies around, why Sazz??? im so saddened!
Maybe, like Sazz, we will see more of Lester due to flashbacks.
Well that's an easy ranking to remember
For my rankings, I have:
I’d go
1. Season 1
2. Season 3
3. Season 4
4. Season 2
I understand.... let's have Season 5 knock it out of the park and take the top spot!
Kamala watching OmitB completes the assignment :)💙
I loved all Seasons! Great show! Can’t wait for Season 5.
Heck yeah!
I believe that the Moriarty of the show took Sazz’s phone, Marshall never admitted to doing it. I guess the Moriarty was looking through the cameras they placed and saw the murder and was like “Hey, I could use this!”
Had to kill Marshall because he would say "cameras? Never heard of them" :)
I never thought about the footprint on the radiator being him stepping on it to get out the window
After having a duo in season 2 and kinda a duo in season 3, I was kinda upset by the fact that they were going to do it again. Same reason why I was upset by the idea of Loretta doing it because I didn’t want a “scorned lover of one of the main characters” sort of story like season 1
Good reasoning!
there are alot of plots that johm hoffman sets up but they are ignored
When they ignored' poisoning Winnie, and brought it up this season --- I loved it
Yet feel they are ignoring a lot this season.
That tin foil hat looks good on you :)
Good catch!
My ranking is: 1 - season 2
2 - season 1
3 - season 3
4 - season 4
Another vote for s2 as the favorite! People love that season, or have problems with that season
100% I had some good belly laughs this season
Thank you very much for the ride Double p i loved it!
I enjoyed this finale a lot even though this time around, it was obvious about 4 episodes ago that Marshall was involved. Poor Lester! I actually thought he was the big baddie so yeah am sorry guys
Thank you! Next year: JUSTICE FOR LESTER!
No way Lester poisoned Winnie - he's an actor!
Very true, at that moment, Marshall wasn't in his right mind
after a couple episodes I knew it was Marshall.. when I heard in an episode Saz called Bev..
Yes, yet that really doesn't make sense imo. She would put the apartment's door code "OH HELL" in the script ???
Ahhh season 5 is going to be insane I can’t wait!
@@peppermango929 What do we do in the meantime????
@@GenXMind67 sigh that’s a good question, i really hope they release it like super fast LOL Idk how i can just sit here and wait for my boy Lester to be avenged
I myself hope that we find more of Lester’s origin now that he’s been murdered, perhaps it was Robert Mapplethorpe
The Westies had so many plot holes and clues that didn’t make sense.
It boggles my mind that Rudy wasn’t involved somehow.

We knew Poppy wasn’t Poppy but did we think she killed Bunny. No we didn’t
And did we ever find out why she did it?
@@agudteachShe did it for money, popularity, another podcast. I thought that part was pretty clear but this season just didn't do it for me.
@ I guess but why Bunny? I know about the artist but it was a loose connection at best.
Helga really got a raw deal - lost her great Arconia apartment for nothing!
But she got it back now
Loose ends:
Who poisoned Winnie
Who left the note on Oliver and Jans door
Who tried to drop sandbags on
Charles in season 3
Who was watching them with the cameras in season 4
Who had Sazz’s phone
Who lured Howard out of the dudenoff apartment
Might have missed one
thats a good list - yet you're correct, there probably will be more!
LOL
PS.
It's been a fun 10 weeks hanging out with the Arconiacs :)
I still believe they can pull s5 together and knock it out of the park. Justice for Lester!
Like that ranking. Lester Doorman, at your service
Great series! Wish you were doing Marlow Murders on PBS
Billy sang "I love you just the way you are" about Doreen and Big Mike :)
how could they do that to lester -- this show has no chill
Would they dare kill Uma or Howard --- please no!
Right now I think our favorite detective is the killer, or at least wanted to stop the podcast. Narratively, she got a good chunk of intro time in season 1, and that could easily “transfer” as supporting her murderer backstory reveal! I have not gone back to watch, but it feels like a good lead!
Great feedback! Hopefully now that she's won an Oscar, she'll still be available to be a big part of s5!
Howard may have written the notes... but Howard is no killer
You wouldn't think so
1st: season 3 really liked the theater kind of vibe for this and was just a great mystery
2nd: season 1 basically perfect but I just liked season three more
3rd: season 4 such a good season but a very unsatisfying finale
4th: season 2 only thing I liked was the confession
Lester's eating wedding cake with the fork in his right hand. He's right handed.
The lefties in these comments say that isn't conclusive...
Season 2, 4, 3 & 1
Ooooo maybe the only second time that s1 was in last place
Ranking 2,1,3,4
Will season 5 continue the trend... or bounce back?
It’s fine to have Marshall as the sole killer. But the ending was not satisfying enough, like you mentioned no explanations on the script, how Marshall got to know what he knew and how he got to dispose off the body. It felt like Marshall himself wrote the last episode 😅
Usually there’d be some symbolism of sorts that would be associated with the killer’s name.
@@amandachilds5290 hehe yes. Felt like Sazz died at episode 8 and Marshall wrote 9 and 10
After I posted the video, I thought "Marshall grabbed a red eye to NYC from Los Angeles, purchased a sniper rifle in NYC , got to the Arconia before Sazz".... only in America :)
@@DoublePMedia seems to me, Marshall's copycat glasses of Sazz's glasses were the clue we were supposed to catch.
But, alas, they didn't point them out, so.....???????
Thank you!
Thank you!
MY PERSONAL RANKING
1) Season 3
2) Season 1
3) Season 4
4) Season 2
I like it
I think this season had a problem not going off too far from the main plot and especially in terms of balancing jokes/wackiness and seriousness.
Boy that is a great question. What if she missed? When did Jan become a sharp shooter :) I hope the S5 suit bag comes back!
Can’t the mob be connected to the Arconia? What if Lester cared too much and tried to protect the residents of the Arconia and it got him in trouble?
I would LOVE that to be the story - Lester protecting the Arconia and his frieds
I should watch the whole video before commenting, I end up commenting too much separated comments BUT, although I am someone who always critiques so many cameos, I am SO EXCITED for TEA LEONI, it will be great!!!
Ha ha - more comments the better. I'm excited for Tea Leoni too. How long has it been since I've seen her in something
Im sad we had no Theo this season. I also expected we’d learn more about the Moriarty character. And I feel that they hint left and right to distract you. Bev Melon was so weird, especially about Mabel, and it lead to nothing…
No Theo is wrong. We could use an Ursula Gut Milk check in. Have the super fans moved on? Let's bring 'em back for Season 5!
@@DoublePMediaYes, yes, yes!
I did love all 4 season,
but to rank them fav to least -
1. Season 3.
2. Season 2.
3. Season 1.
4. Season 4
Great ranking - Every season has been fun, exciting, hilarious
LESTERRRRRRRR!
I know -- that should not have happened!!! in the Courtyard... was NO ONE looking out their window!!!
My vote for best seasons are:
1A Season 1-4 Episodes 1-9 are all great
1B Season 3 (best overall)
2. Season 1 (finale was hilarious but reveal was a little disappointing because of some plot holes)
3. Season 2 (murder and murderer didn’t make a lot of sense but finale was very creative and hilarious)
4. Season 4 (disappointing reveal and finale. Hero’s were just told what happened instead of figuring it out and there was like 25 minutes of show just left on the floor that could have made it better. Bad taste in my mouth after that one)
LOL that's a great breakdown
The last episode was so weak that it seems suspicious. Throughout the entire series, including the fourth season, we saw a very well crafted script, well thought out dialogue, incredible performances and very clean and elegant comedy. The simplicity of the season finale doesn't match what we've seen. I was expecting a good ding dong, not solutions like:
Mabel: You're very fit for a writer or Sazz: You're the only one who knows and my only copy and lastly, Jane waving from the other side of the building....
It seems they were in a hurry to close the season, however, once an Arconian, always an Arconian. Forever loyal to OMITB and Double P Media theories :D
Thank you for your loyalty. Expect s5 to provide MANY answers, or we storm the Arconia :)
Thank you! S5 will be back on top, Justice for Lester!
My ranking of the seasons
1. Season 1
2. Season 3
3. Season 4
4. Season 2
Another 1,3,4,2 which is *probably* my ranking too
You know in season 2 they showed the day Bunny died. If they do the same and show Lester's life and what happened and how it happened it could get real dark. His scene looked terrible and frankly I don't want to see how he suffered.
Ranking - 1. Season 1 2. Season 3 3. Season 2 4. Season 4.
Which of the Pickwick Triplets got up to #2 - heck yeah!
A big 'yes' to all of this
I STRAIGHT UP YELLED NOOO WHEN I SAW LESTER 😓
At the very least, we should find out the answer to Mabel's bounty in s5, please!
