  • Quick video of me swapping out the stock bulbs from the instrument cluster to LED’s. Easy job over all, but you never know what you will find/come across during a job like this.
    Also, forgive me for using my phone and trying to do this one handed. Next video I will break out the GoPro and tripod.

    In all, 2 toque screws for the cover around steering column. 2 Philips screws outside top (center of cluster) to remove face covering and 6 Philip screws to remove the instrument cluster. Easy job, take your time to ensure nothing is damaged.

      I only clean occasionally as I'm always off-road and everything gets dusty. It adds character of my XJ. 😂

      At least it's an easy upgrade! Cheep too, you can pick out different colors as well.

    Pro tip to remove dash bezel, drop the steering column. 2 13mm/1/2" bolts underside of dash allows the easiest bezel removal. Been thinking of completing the Bumble Jeep's LED conversion. Good job! God bless and stay well.

      Thanks for that advice. I've only removed it twice in the past didn't even think about dropping the steering column down. Definitely looking into that.

    I was thinking of putting LEDs in my 1989 Comanche. Are you still happy with the swap?

      I am... They are working strong still... Brighter than stock ones.

    Did you remove the check engine light bulb while you were in there? Lol jk. Looks good! I've have these in my cart for a while. I need to just do it already.

      Haha... I'm one of the very lucky ones where my check engine light only turns on when I get into water. Of course I'm only OBD1 so I have less things that can cause the light to turn on.

    Are you able to dim the LEDs or are they constantly bright??

    • @MyVoyageUnknown
      @MyVoyageUnknown  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! They are dimmable... Only to about 20% tho...

      That's the only reason I haven't done LEDs yet for dash lights, sometimes it's nice when night driving to have it really dark inside
