LMAO exactly. I refer to it as active rustproofing. Just changed my rusty oil pan and gasket that wasn't fun. You can run a locker all the time. I have a Spartan in the rear axle. I live in the north it snows here the locker is nice then.

    For the hustlers out there:
    0) make sure the Jeep is good before you start modifying it
    1) a good long arm lift and good tires
    2) power steering pump, steering linkage
    3) slip yoke eliminator
    4) frame stiffeners
    5) a set of lockers (off-roading)

I have my preferences that go closely with yours. I have 3 Cherokees 01 Stock, 00 on 37's, 98 on 35's
If you're in the north you need to look at the common rust areas ( floorboards, rockers etc.)
You also for the 99-01 need to make sure the head isn't cracked (0331 Castings are common)
With Tire size, watch your axle gearing. Yes I've had a Cherokee with 35's on stock 3.55 gearing. And really that axle needed to be built. I cooked the spider gears in the front.
I would say with the SYE if you're big enough for an SYE, you might want to look into Shimming the back axle to point the yolk at the back of the T-case instead of the front axle. I believe it's 6 degrees in the back that I have.
Then my just because addition for driving whether on or off road. Disc Brakes in the rear.

Found your video very informative. I just bought my second jeep last Monday. My first jeep is a completely stock jeep. It’s from the east coast and very rusty. The second jeep I just bought is from Nevada and very clean. Already has what I’m told is a four inch lift already installed. However it has no information that came with it. No instruction manual, no repair records, nothing. So it’s going to be interesting learning this jeep. The person I bought it from bought it at auction, brought it home, girlfriend hated the height of it and told him to get rid of it. Thus how I ended up with it. So seller has no records of any sort on it and hadn’t even registered it in his state of Nevada because the gf hated it. His loss, my gain.

0:21 THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT- I've been driving for 11 years now and I have never known (until a couple weeks ago) that there is a gas cap latch holder on the inside of your gas cap door. It helps prevent strain on the cap cord. My wife's broke off hers and, once rolled directly in the middle under her car in 15 degree weather was inconvenient! I just thought I'd throw in my 2¢ for other people as dumb as me

Only problems I ever had were the starter went out and the fuel pump. Both replaced and now everything is great. Oh also the vehicle sways and steering feels loose.

So I’m a little impressed no major upgrades were mentioned in this video. I also have 4.11 gear ratio. I’d like to know what tires those are I just ran through a pair of super swamper 33/12.50r15 and I liked the size just the road Ate up the aggressive tread.

I have a 1996 Cherokee XJ and have BF Goodrich 265/75/R16 Mickey Thompson Rims. I have a 4” lift but I want much wider tires like the tires on the Cherokee on this video. Any ideas on what I can buy? brand and size? What is on this Cherokee on this video?

First thing should be a aluminum radiator and hood vents if you own a Cherokee. Heat soak wrecked my motor after building my Cherokee all that money for lift tires rims lockes and rebuilding my axels . But hell it looks good sitting in my yard. No if your looking to mod a Cherokee you start with the design flaw that was built into every darn one of them.small grill openings small engine compartment and big heavy cast iron 6 cylinder = heat. Notice how the 2020 jeeps have hood vents from the factory now. Hmmm

1997 Jeep Cherokee XJ 2.5TD with a little rust on the doorstep and on the mudguard for 3900€? It's a little bit expensive, or? What is the realistic price for it?

It depends on where you live and your budget, but 3900 for a Jeep XJ is not a bad deal
