      Thank you bro I been looking for this comment as I’m thinking about getting these coilovers for my 300zx as well and I wanted to know if these would affect my ride in a negative way

    I have d2's on my 5th gen maxima and I fucking love em. Only time it gets weird is when my wife takes my whip, but they've held up to her driving so these d2's are the shit...IMO

    Nice review, but I need to know if BC racing have the top mounting like the stock one(rubber) to be more softly on small bumps?
    I'm planning to get a set of coilovers for my e92 335i as daily car and I don't know which one should I buy in terms of soft ride.

    Quick question guys: I want to make car as soft as possible on D2 Suspension. How to make that set up? There are 3 rings. Two upper are purple (top one bigger, middle one smaller) and bottom one- black. And at the top, under the bonnet, there is some adjustment also. I'll be very grateful for your advice. Thank You!

      Hi. IMO biggest thing is not to put any preload into the spring. Put the purple collars up enough so the spring is not loose. No need to compress the spring for a road car. Bottom mount is ride height. I would lower it by the same amount as the H&R sport spring kit for your car. Usually around 35mm lower than stock. Maybe you can get away with 5-10mm more. More than that suspension geometry will probably suffer. Crashing, banging, bumper steer, excess camber, generally less grip etc etc. Top mount, depends on car and what you use it for, track days, daily driving... Speak to people with the same car as you.

      @bmwalpina4628 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I want to keep the car for daily driving but I'm not sure whether it is possible to make it nearly as soft as producer says... If not I want to remove it and sell it away. ;-/ Car is BMW E36 convertible, so that's not a race car.

      What type is your top mount? Pillowball or pillowball + rubber?

    • @bmwalpina4628
      @bmwalpina4628 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have any experience with this... what is the difference between?

    • @Juliuswwss
      @Juliuswwss 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      BMW Alpina
      P+R is more comfortable as the pillowball is not in direct (metal to metal) contact with the top plate

    D2 coilovers come with rubber top mounts on certain applications. They are a bit stiffer though. 10k front 12k rear was my default spring rate. It's the same setup as BC. If you are not tracking your car and just want a drop and to reduce body roll then they are good. I paid 880 for a set of RS. I expect them to last longer than my stock struts which went out three times in 57k miles. ): TOckico stockers and kyb replacements gas a just on try number 3. Bullcrap struts and shocks went out quick everytime. These D2 coils will last 5 or 7 for me I bet.

    Question for you can D2 coilovers be rebuilt

    • @DriveTuneMedia
      @DriveTuneMedia  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. They can be rebuilt but the official line from D2 is that the damper unit is disposable and should be replaced with a new item.

    Question: How do these coilovers compare to BC coilovers for daily driving + autox?

    • @DriveTuneMedia
      @DriveTuneMedia  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I only have experience of D2/K-Sport. Assuming price is similar, I would guess that performance is similar. Anyone feel free to chime in if you have experience of both brands!

    • @dannyb1979
      @dannyb1979 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      BCs and D2s are so similar; there's very little between them and for me, they're about the same price, so it's down to personal choice. IIRC D2s are made in the same factory as K Sport. Both very, very similar to the BC design and vice versa
      Having owned both BCs and D2s on various Honda and BMW cars, for me, I'd go for D2s, but that's personal preference!
      They're both very well made, very well finished and have both ride height and damping adjustability, so it could simply come down to budget!

  • @leandroet21

    What is the height difference from the stock suspension?

    • @DriveTuneMedia
      @DriveTuneMedia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi. Generally it will go from stock ride height to 60-100mm lower than stock. There is massive height adjustment on D2 coilovers.

    My car rides like crap with D2.
    Waste of money. Their default spring rates are wrong and they recommended them.
