- Wyze has a new product, AGAIN! This time it's an update to their wildly popular Wyze Cam line. The Wyze Cam v3 has a new look that's weather resistant for outdoor use (finally!) and much improved color night vision but it's not totally perfect. In this video i'm going to go over it's feature and show you some demos of what it's like using one.

Totally agree, for the price these cameras are phenomenal. Been using v2 cams outdoors inside a $10 ip65 case for the last 16 months and they've worked perfectly in both winter and summer. Just ordered a few v3 cams so we'll see. All products are great so far, but only disappointment are the contact sensors; I've had 2 die after just 6 months of use, but they're super cheap anyway.
I have this camera and it's AWESOME! Wyze will have a HIT with this once it really hits the big box stores. The starlight sensor is VERY IMPRESSIVE.
If it hits the big box stores, be prepared to pay more.

One thing you missed is under that screw on the bottom that holds on their standard mount is a standard 1/4" tripod mount, so you can use it with any standard wall mount.
Good single item review and critique. The camera is no longer $20. And finding one under $30 is a total chore. I needed one fast and spent just over $30

The audio is definitely lacking. What do you recommend for outdoor security cameras? We live in the Northeast so it would need to stand up to cold, snow, etc. Thanks
My ver 3 that was just delivered today has that same static, crackle sound as well. Think it’s a hardware issue. That’s a shame too. My 2 ver 2’s sound is great.
I’m curious how well it integrates with Google devices or Alexa, if at all? We have a few Google nest hub screens in the house, and would like to be able to easily ask “hey Google show me my yard” or similar and have that view come up on the screen.
The V3 cameras are great, but they won't trigger the siren when they detect motion. I questioned Wyze Support about this several weeks ago but have yet to get a response.
Odd yours had a popping noise I don't have that on mine. I'm wondering if the mic on yours is bad or you had interference from something. My v2 and v3 don't do it.
What brand you reccomend for outside wifii. Camera ? With no fees
great video. both my wife and I have down loaded the app, the only thing when she turns her phone sideways and take up full screen, it mine will not do a side version it just stays the same, any suggestions, also good job

You mentioned that the v3 has a Near and Far setting. How far does the 'far' setting see?

The problems I am encounterig deal with the MICRO SD Card. The WYZE brand cards are not formatting. Tried to format on Computer and the error msg. stated " Windows not compatible with RAW Drives ". Anyone else having this issue ?
It's very easy to set up I have 4 of them running in my house 3 on the outside of my house and one inside I like the camp plus program because I can view it on my computer and I really find that is much nicer than watching it on a tiny phone however I feel there's a lot of room yet for improvements such as every morning at 7 o'clock my time Pacific standard Time they seem to kick out which is very annoying at that hour I think it should be later in the day because not everybody gets up at 7 in the morning to reboot so I'm going to be talking with Wyze about this.But overall I am fairly pleased I have 2 other cameras that I bought 1st I won't mention their names but let's put it this way I gave them away so I looking forward to the new improvements that they been talking about thanks for your video have a great day
You mentioned the camera will keep recording over old recordings but what if you have something that you need to store? How do you save it?

Thanks for the video. When will they include RTSP in the current firmware. It doesn't seem to be an option under advanced. Only old custom firmware the only option?? Would love to see all my cameras from my PC.

So why does my Wyze cam3 beep at odd hours at night?
I bought the $30 round meme spy camera the battery would die really quick and the connection will always disconnect I bought this one and this is awesome it it works really good better than the Spy a I bought and I give it 4 stars the audio is not that bad I can hear it really good but what do you expect for $30
What about the privacy policy? There's some that by accepting you agree for them to access all cameras on your network, which includes computers, cell phones, smart TVs and tablets connected to the network. Thoughts?
That's my issue also!!! Everyone seems obsessed with being secure with cameras, but don't mind giving their privacy away with apps, mostly likely to be beemed back to China. By using most of these devices & AI things, you are helping the Chinese to learn our habits, so that they can take advantage. And are these cameras secure enough from hackers....is there a passcode?

You don’t need to “setup” the siren. You trigger it on/off within the app. When you select the cam to look at, touch the “…” ellipse, and you will see the siren toggle there. If you are looking for an automatic siren, Wyze uses “rules” for automation, and you may be able to automate the siren.
If I have SD card with continuous recording on, can I view the stream if I am away and not connected to the WiFi?
Yes you can.
How did you display the Wyze cam feeds on your TV?
Probably used a firestick because it is compatible with Alexa.

What do you mean by saying it's not as a good "security camera" as a security "cam?" What's the difference? Is there a problem with recording? What I'm looking for is security camera for an apartment situation with at least a few days of free storage, WITHOUT a subscription.

I have -2- pan scan, -4- v2 indoors & -3- outdoor cameras. Plus,-6- sensors & -1- motion sensor. We use iPads & cell phones but I see that you have integrated your camera into a TV monitor. How did you achieve that?
Our Alexa is only good for letting us know about the sensors

I take the time to warn everyone so you don't end up in the same situation as mine.
Purchased 6 cams at end of April after reading raved reviews and watching positive videos.... We are now in August and I have 4 cams showing the "Red LED Of Death" (no flashing, factory reset can help this). Those cams are bricked just by simply using them (no power outage or poking around to try to do something fancy or flashing or anything... Simple most basic usage... Filming.)... To make matters worst since I am Canadian Wyze won't honor their warranty.
Come to your own conclusion.
Personally those 6 cams were my first and last Wyze purchases. Definitely not going to buy anything from that company.
4 cams out 6 is not just a fluke. This is serious Quality Check issues. You have been warned.
Sound like the mic is bad on you cam or you have a bad internet connection or some kind of interference causing sound to be distorted..
What is the maximum capacity sd card I can use in it ?

AMAZING $20 Cam and LOADSSSS Better than the v2!
Night Vision just kicks ass in this version, color night vision isnt "Bad", definitely works but meh, its ok..
Considering getting the spotlight for the hell of it, but we should be able to use our own USB LED lights :/
Compared to the v2 id say its pretty close to perfect.
Also an FYI, the V3 supports up to 128GB SD Cards.

Great video brother... can you download the app on a tablet as well as a phone?
Thank you! And yes you can install the app on an iPad. Not sure about other tablets.
Any decent Smartphone/Tablet with the OS Requirement for the app will work fine, could even use one as a dedicated camera screen if needed but said devices batteries wont like being constantly plugged in after some time.
How long will the events be to the SD card? 12secs to the SD card? Will it also mean no cool down if you use an SD card ?
The 12 second clips are stored on the cloud...not the SD card. You can view recordings on the SD card that are at least 1 minute long and longer if motion continues. However, unless you subscribe to their Cam Plus, there will be a 5 minute cool down after a motion event even if you have an SD card.

I think I heard the price for the cam plus was like 14.00 a year? Am I wrong about that friends?
I feel like if this camera can last through a couple Michigan winters under the eve of the house I don't mind paying 15.00 a year for the cam plus subscription. Let's face it the camera does not need to cool down after a recording, this is just a consumer friendly way to say hey buy the subscription please, we gave you a smoking deal on the camera!
My Wyze cam V3 has a static sound when viewing live and playback. Not good!!!
Do you think this is sensitive enough to find the entry spot of small mice into a room?
I used my wyze pan for mice detection and it worked well. I used it in combination with a motion sensor.

You can select a detection zone for motion. The best way to run it on pc is with bluestacks Android emulator on pc and fun the app :)

Yeah, thats what the Events section is for bud.. But whether or not a $20 cam can replace a more expensive cam thats for you to test.
They are above $35 right now. So goodbye to the $20 price.... 😭

Still, you probably will not find perfect, even spending a lot of money
Its NOT $20. Its $30 plus tax. Does NOT WORK with TinyCam Pro or iSpy Pro programs. Nor does it support RTSP so that you can see it on your browser or home TV. Gets a thumbs DOWN from me
V3 has very bad audio with crackling static , can’t even listen to anything, v2 were much better clear audio can even hear the wind , these v3 have good night vision but that’s about it
