I really appreciate how well thought out and thorough your reviews are (e.g. inside/outside tests, distance markers, license plate visibility, moving license plate etc). You provide a great service to everyone shopping for these devices.
You put so much effort into your reviews. I honestly can't believe how thorough and and genuine they are. I don't even use my youtube acct but logged in to subscribe and comment
I love my wyze cams. Especially the value at their price point. Agree with your comments on the delay and lag. Great unboxing and initial review. Thank You. I have gained Wyze a lot of customers and have sold 100 cameras for them. I’m just going to link them all to this video.
Just want to say thank you for your review videos... I found your channel earlier this year and thanks to you, I purchased 6 Ring stick up cams, Wyze sensors, Wyze bulbs, two Wyze V2 cams, and plan to purchase this version as well. I always and ONLY trust your opinions and don’t bother looking at other review channels. Thank you again!!!
Excellent review. I especially like the license plate test and the various night vision distance tests. The decibel test was pretty cool too. You really know how to do a great review.
I really like your final thoughts, and even more the feedback about the notification delays, I can't wait for your new video about the notification speed once they release the new firmware.
Thank you, sir! I was having difficulty trying to set ours up, (I'm not at all tech savvy), and after watching dozens of other videos out there, yours is the only one I could find that is very clear, step by step, easy to understand, and concise. Other videos out there assumes (a new user) already knows certain things when you actually don't know and need help. Thank you!
You did a great job on the video! I just set up my Wyze cam v3 today. I paid $73 total directly from Wyze for three items: Wyze cam v3, the long outdoor power cord that is like twelve feet long and a 32GB SD card(Wyze does not recommend any larger of an SD card, since it can corrupt the files).
Now this camera makes the WYZE Cam Outdoor look completely obsolescent .I can't wait to upgrade from my V2s to the WYZE Cam V3. Thanks for sharing buddy 😁👍
I’ve been a “Wyze Guy” from the beginning. Bought four of these to replace the v2 and installed one outside in the weather where it would be exposed to rain, sun etc for testing. It only lasted 4 months before water made its way in through the rear. I notified Wyze and they replaced it for free. It’s a decent cam, but don’t expect it to last long in the weather. Not really an IP65 rating. If you want something truly waterproof that will work outdoors, get a blink camera for those places where you need true weather proof ability. I’ve had three out doors for several years, they work great!
This the most thorough review I have seen in you tube, it's very informative and I appreciate all the time and effort you put into this. You have thought of everything that viewers would like to see in a review. Thanks for showing me the info I was looking for. Keep making quality reviews please!
I love how in depth you are with your reviews and I appreciate how much effort went into this video. I am a new home owner and your review helped me immensely! Thank you!
Hey out of curiosity how quickly are you getting your notifications? Because of this video they're taking somewhere between 45 seconds to almost a minute so I'm wondering if there have been any updates that have improved the time.
I agree, if they fix the notification delay this camera would be an absolute steal at $20. Even so, I think I'm still going to buy the new version. Thank you for the great review!
Want to commend the thoroughness of the testing done. 20 mins youtube video for a review is long in today's standards, but totally worth it. I bet its more than a day's effort so definitely remarkable. Liked/Subb`ed
I debated “6 minute youtube review or 20?” I went with 20, as this is an regular dude using them in real life, testing them by distances (brilliant to mark every 5ft outside, and “the stolen plate challenge!” Lol!) worth 20!!!
Great review. This is my fifth Wyze cam and it performs flawlessly. I am pleased with this whole system. It started off as just a wildlife cam for me. It still works great for that. Then my wife wanted me to look into something for security. Since I was familiar with Wyze I thought why not. Now she loves it. Easy to use and install. I hooked up the V.3 and the hardest part was installing an outlet in the garage to power this. That was not hard, I just had to knock a couple of holes in the wall to do it. After patching up the sheetrock this is good to go. 👍👍
Thank you for taking the time and giving so much information about the Wyze 3, which I have pre-ordered. I love their cams!! Thanks again, very helpful to me.
I'm hanging on switching to Wyze until they fix all the delay on all their cam. I reached out and asked them about the battery version, they said they would fix it but no visible timeline like they gave you for the v3. Excellent review as always. Thank you sir

Great video! I just went through a dozen other reviews of the V3 and they couldn't even provide decent footage. People on TH-cam have been getting lazy! Comparing my V3 to yours I was able to determine there's something wrong with mine because the video quality is horrible. Thanks for the thorough review 👍
I just ordered my 2nd V3 and the video quality is way better than my Arlo Pro. These type of cameras really depend how fast your internet connection is and preferably, you use a mesh router!
EXCELLENT review video...as well as good instructions (for those of us who are now planning to buy this camera in part due to your informative review-ha!)
Looks good at night, but there's just sooo much compression and noise. I love my two Wyze Cam v2's, but I really wish you were able to bump up the bitrate quite a bit. I'm also really disappointed there's no 5ghz wifi. I know range is substantially less, but for crowded 2.4ghz environments, such as apartment buildings, 5ghz would have been a blessing.
I just got the email from Wyze about this new camera and you already have one! But alpha version of the app or not, Wyze still can't get Notifications fast enough. They shouldn't need an update to fix this as they've had 2 prior versions to get it right. And they really need to give us more than a 12 second record time and less than a 5 minute cool down period with the free service.
I’m guessing they make more off subscriptions for unlimited continuous cloud recording than they do from hardware sales. They have to keep *some* features reserved for subscribers, and they’re pretty generous giving 12 seconds for free and so many options without the subscriptions (they could hold back and throttle way more than they do; imagine what Apple would or already does charge for far more restricted devices and service!) And remember, everybody, as of May 2021, the Apple App Store has been exposed of selling dirty, dirty apps they don’t even screen on the App Store (millions of *paid apps* Apple still takes 30% per-download of all profits). They swayed the majority of the market to join their brand of phones, watches, pads based on their *promise* to screen and thoroughly test, then approve ALL APP STORE APPS, to keep us safe from the Android Hooligans that they claimed didn’t scrutinize their offerings like Apple does. Now years after they’ve eaten heaven knows how much market share *because* of their “clean store” policy, we find out it’s several hundreds of thousands, if not millions or more spy/scam/exploitative/naughty evil apps far off from “Clean.” And they knew it. Just picked up a few of these and love them. Set up was easy and straightforward. Will have to wait for the Wyze Cam Plus free subscription to run out and see the difference is before I subscribe. Thanks for the great video, very thorough.
Hey out of curiosity how quickly are you getting your notifications? Because of this video they're taking somewhere between 45 seconds to almost a minute so I'm wondering if there have been any updates that have improved the time.
@@erod3128 I’m getting them pretty fast. After the trial ran out there’s the 5 minute wait in between but I get those within seconds of the camera sensing movement. Could it be your connection at home?
Hey there actually I haven't bought them yet, but I got the feed back that if you're not on the Cam Plus you get the notification within seconds, which is what I was hoping for. Now I will go get them
‼️Thanks‼️ You put alot into making this video. It made me glad I bought another one. I watched it b4 I unboxed my v3. My v2 is set in my house. v3 I'm putting outside. Thanks for comparisons you tested both are big differences 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Motion alerts are still painfully slow (46 seconds) which means that by the time you load the Wyze app to see what's happening, the person is long gone.
2 issues I have with my V2s ... audio is crap and the notification delay is 19 secs. This seems to have SLIGHT improvement in audio but the delay is even worse than my V2's. If the delay is improved to 4 secs like they promise, I'd buy it. Otherwise not.
@@johnb4183 This lag could be seen as why it's only $20. Also, they need to go beyond 1080p at some point. That's too low res for many details, even inside a house.
Thank you for the review! since already purchased 2 of the V3 cameras I already know what expected. Its OK for the price, bad audio and ok night color vision!
"Show me Wyze cam 3" ... goes to make coffee because it takes a long time to wait (actually 17 seconds but still that's a long time). Thanks for review!
And without the subscription for continuous cloud recording or a MicroSD card, it will record 12 second clips to the cloud for free, then the “cool down period” means it won’t record if triggered for 5 minutes (incentive to buy the subscription: but $15/camera for a full year of continuous (every second) cloud recording without “cool down” time or a MicroSD, sounds more than fair to me!
Another GREAT review....you do an excellent job. When I first saw this camera from Wyze I wasn't sure it was worth it....however, you review does an excellent job covering all aspects of the camera....So I think I will get the new Wyze Cam 3 and move my old camera to a different location.... Thanks again for doing a great job!!
I reached out to them on FB messenger. They usually responded within hours before. But this time I asked if the fix will also apply for the battery version, they haven't responded me yet. I asked that on a Friday morning, now is Mondays afternoon. So...we'll see. I was about to buy a few battery cams and 2 v3..but I need them to confirm first. 30 seconds delay is unacceptable...
These look pretty good and I’m sure I’ll order a few eventually, but the SLOW notifications (and their rather notorious customer service) make me not regret my switch from Wyze Outdoor (or these) to the Blink Outdoor cams. These are definitely way better than the disposable Wyze Outdoor cams.
Which blink camers did you got? I'm planning to change my wireless arlo essentials to a wire wyze cam v3 thw only thing that I don't like is the delay on the notifications which is the same as arlo.
Great review. You're very thorough, that's fantastic. Thank you. Wyze still needs to work on the notification and Alexia integration; it is taking way too long.
This camera is amazing but the delay for the notification and the cool down period needs work . It needs to be a lot faster for both (notification and cool down)
Real Pro review, thanks for not wasting my time. motion tracking is only part I'm not clear about . will the camera follow you around the yard? appreciate the running with the licence plate as a common fault in many cams. again, sincere thanks in covering all the bases. Lawson
Thanks for the well done review and great info! I understand the V3 doesn't support RTSP yet, so, gonna hold off buying til they get that added. Being able to see the large cam views on a PC monitor or TV screen is a must for me.
What's is still missing and much sought-after feature is solar panel for the unit. Security is needed in many areas around anyone's house, but power source is not usually readily available in many odd places where surveillance is most needed.
very good review. I ve got three more tips / questions for you. Since there is a time gap between motion and notification you might want to try just pass in front of camera and get away, not stay there and wait for notification while still in camera view. What if in such case there would be no notification at all? Second I would like to know if there is a way to start recording on internal memory or memory card without any wifi connection. Lets say I want to use it while camping or fishing where there is no internet. There seem to be no buttons on camera to control it. Or there might be a situation when wifi just dont work or there is power supply cut. I might be powering that camera with external battery for instance but wifi router would turn itself off without power. And finally third question is that how long can it record on its own memory or memory card? Is it hours or days?
The one part I “hate” about v3....can’t get it in Canada, yet.....just like many of their products.....and the border is still closed so I have not been in the US to pick one up.....
Was in process of buying 3 version v3 outdoor cameras for my home in Minnesota, they only go down to -5 deg and staff said it would be damaged at lower temps if used. In MN is is common to see -30 to -50 deg, sorry that's a know design defect.
Thanks for your great reviews..............As wyze has had serious delivery backlog and technical problems, what in your opinion woud be a good alternative outdoor cam that can provide 24 hour continuous recording capability?
I had decided that I wouldn’t get the new wyze outdoor camera. I have 5 wyze cameras 2 of them are almost 3 years old. All are outside and working great. After seeing how much better the Wyze 3 are I am going to replace my wyze cam 1 cameras. Thanks, I think😏😃!
Good but they still need to work on getting the cam video to come up quicker. When you hear a noise you want to take a look IMMEDIATELY, not sit and wait for the feed to come up.
That was an excellent review and it's clear that you put a great deal of time into it, resulting in a very professionally presentation. I really liked the distance layout testing at all the various combinations of lighting and the amount of time you put into explaining the app was perfect. Thank you for all your hard work on this obvious winner of a camera!

Very comprehensive. Great review! Thanks. 👍
Impressive what technology $20 gets you these days.
Nice video im going to amazon now! thanks!
very good review.
Great presentation.. Very professionally done.. Thank you..
Thank you.
Thanks for the review - I preordered one after watching your video. 👍
Thank you.
Thank you... your video was EXCELLENT! Ordering two of the V3”s. Already have a V1, two V2’s.
I subscribed, w/Bell.
Thanks again,

Excellent explanation, as always.Thank you!
The one part I “hate” about v3....can’t get it in Canada, yet.....just like many of their products.....and the border is still closed so I have not been in the US to pick one up.....
Just pre-ordered mine.
Cool..
Was in process of buying 3 version v3 outdoor cameras for my home in
Minnesota, they only go down to -5 deg and staff said it would be
damaged at lower temps if used. In MN is is common to see -30 to -50
deg, sorry that's a know design defect.
BEST review of the v3
The nighttime performance is soooo much better. Other than that everything still comes up short compared to the eufy at only 10 bucks more
Is there any similar cam with rj45 poe ?
Which eufy cam is $10 more that can also be used outdoors?
Good but they still need to work on getting the cam video to come up quicker. When you hear a noise you want to take a look IMMEDIATELY, not sit and wait for the feed to come up.
Agreed! I’d rather know someone is breaking in to kill me before they’re done!
Thanks again for good review. Greeting from The Netherlands, Marc
Do we know if Wyze fixed the delay on notifications and added RTSP? LH is amazing!
Way to go Lifehackster another great review!
