Every new dirty bike I get that needs work, first thing I do is pressure wash. Too easy otherwise to accidently introduce grit where grit does damage. Each to their own.

Dear Joe: I recently started viewing and enjoying your videos. I'm reminded of an old idiom: " idle hands are the Devil's workshop." Continued success and happiness with your joyful toils..
I've decided to take week off and do some recreating. My apprentice left to MMI so what little I have to finish up will take bout 30 min. Have a newer razor that needs a front diff installed it can wait a few days.
If you put your phone in video or picture mode and have it use flash you can see your piston through the intake and exhaust holes easier. Spark plug hole too!
u gotta be more patient when gravity bleeding hydraulic brakes without a one way valve hose....so all the quick fast pumping of the lever does nothing to speed it up if your gravity bleeding...just gotta wait for the fluid to flow thru the small orfices and if not clogged will eventually come thru like it did with your brakes........and brake fluid is very messy and corrosive and will eat paint or nething it comes into contact with so u really should invest in some clear tubing and a 1 way valve system for like 10 bucks then u connect hose to nipple and not make a mess when u crack the bolt and u also get to see the air and fluid in the line so u can visually see that there are no bubbles and then u can pump the lever and it only lets it pump out without drawing any air back in to contaminate the air free line.....and also i noticed when the fluid didnt come rushing out like you were hoping...u unscrewed the bleed nipple like 2 full turns in hopes that it would start flowing but that is unnecessary cuz all u need to do is crack it just a hair and thats all u will ever need to bleed them properly and the more u unscrew it does not correlate into faster flowing properties ...it just makes a bigger mess since the threads get fluid to bypass it since when unscrewed the fluid can be pushed out of the bleed nipple itself threads will have fluid coming past it making a big mess...........
for the coolant hose, you could use a t fitting and take some new hose and have the two go into the fitting and then a new hose to the new case, just a thought.
It could use a power wash or maybe just some elbow grease water and laundry detergent a rag. I love that bike Honda back then was the very best I dont know maybe it still is?
For gods sake can you just wash the thing? Would make us happy to see the complete condition of it. By the way my cr60 had 190psi compression stock so 150 would probably the service limit for the top end idk but my 60 is a kick in the pants with 190

Instead of soaking the jets and parts to the carb in wd 40 and carb cleaner use kerosene it works way better and it’s cheaper will take any old gas out and it will disolve any dirt or grime in it

Genuine question joe? Why do you never power hose stuff before you work on it. Much better working on stuff that's clean.
Because that would make sense.. Then he put some back together all nasty dirty..
Then it would be all wet
@Jared Howell Just look it over before doing it and you'll be fine.. I have did hundreds in the last 45 years and have never had that issue..
Now it’s cold I understand but before I hAve no idea lol I always power wash my things before working on them

Use compressed air on the caliper to push the piston out. This is the way I have always done it. Works well that way 👍
That satisfying click when a float bowl screw breaks lose.
Damn can’t wait to hear it run
Glad to see your showing more of how you fix things !! More how to videos !! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!!
Please get a frikkin workbench u always working on the floor 😂😂
Beautiful CR. 1985... good years. Still have my 1998 CR250. Miss my 1996 CR500 tho. Goodluck mate!

Good job on the screw removal, doesn’t always work out that good with the drill

Fork seals look like they are junk by how wet it looks you really need to start washing your bikes before stripping them down
Really enjoy watching your videos from Sydney Australia. Keep up the good work.
85 CR250 vs Tecate from a 3rd gear pull .
You can buy a new primary cover from Honda, 89 cr250 will work on an 85, I've done a few of them you can buy new oem parts still for around $140-160.
First thing I'd do is degrease that bike and wash it before working on it

Looks like a vintage 1985 flywheel. Still throwing lightning its fine.
Take that flywheel off and clean the corrosion off . You will get better spark. And while it is off replace the crank seal
Joe thanks for the videos . your killing these uploads.well done. How do u get these awesome bargains..your the man
Nice old Cr250 awesome video man
Don't forget crankshaft seals !! If the air boot is rock hard what do you think the seals are like?
Good point, those seals will be shrunken & hard.some bikes can have them swapped out without too much of a fight
If you put your phone in video or picture mode and have it use flash you can see your piston through the intake and exhaust holes easier. Spark plug hole too!
Change the reeds change the top end. All houses seals and gaskets. Do it right my brother
Samco do a y piece coolant hose. You can deffo get one. The 2019 yzf250 has a similar hose
Put type f trans fluid for transmission and clutch. Clutch will work a lot better and shift smoother
Me: My bike blew up 😔 2vintage: wd40 will do the trick 😏
Funny he doesn't actually use it on the most stuck screws on brake and didn't use on coroded looking bleeder nipple. Tripper but he is good

Another interesting vid, thanks Joe!
wow i just realized that you have so many subs im here since like 15-20 k
Brake clean works better on carbs that’s what I do. I build and resto motorcycles and 4 wheelers and 3 wheelers so
Cut a flat crease in that screw with a dremel, use a flat head. No problem.
Imagine using wd-40 to clean a carburetor and to make things worst basically the whole bike
Been using wd40 on carbs for 30yrs..no issue(s) whatsoever..
