Today we are going to ship the 50kwh Nissan Leaf DIY battery modules. All accessories will be shipped together, including 7 cables, spacers, CAN bridge, glue to seal the battery cover, etc. Easy installing, with no need to cut the original battery case or drill any new holes. No modification to the original battery case is needed. All are fixed by screws. Total will be 4 modules for 1 vehicle and packed in 1 pallet.

A suggestion: It would be nice to also have a way to reuse the old Leaf battery modules, e.g. as a home battery (powerwall). If you could offer a kit for this along with the Leaf battery upgrade kit, it would reduce my overall cost since I can re-use the old cells in my house.

I have a lineup of 48v and 12v boards and kits to reuse modules, since this is what I do here in California. Since we have a sunshine tax anyway, we have to take advantage of it :)

Ask yourself "why am I replacing the batteries"? Typically they have lost so much capacity, they are better off recycled, and find other (newer) batteries to use as a power wall.

I would love to test these batteries, but struggle to trust overseas supplier, also do you have own bms? Or use Nissan one?

Doesn't the CATL batteries need a coolent especially if you are driving long distance,?
No need. We replace the original soft pack batteries into big CATL batteries, which bear a smaller C rate and generate less heat.

@@edwinjoshua2041 It is the rate. For example, the motor of Leaf is not big, whose peak power is 80kw and peak current is 250A. The original factory pouch cell is 67Ah (24kwh), so it bears nearly 4C discharge rate(with 250/67). We replace it with most up-to-date CATL high density cell, for example 120Ah cell, then it bears only 2C discharge rate(with 250/120).
Are these packed liquid cooled or the same flawed design passive cooling that Nissan used?
We replace the original soft pack into big CATL cells, which generate less heat and bear a much smaller C rate. Besides，the motor of Leaf is not big. So it is enough.

3- my leaf is a 40 kwh. It still works very well. So I don't need to replace the battery for the moment. Your pack could be put on this car?

Is there any testing done to see if the original 24kwh bms can balance the 50kwh pack? Thank you for the video!
The original 24kwh BMS ( if before our re-programming), is also can be used on the 50kwh pack, just can not display the whole correct new mileages.

@@rdflo6739 We use the original Nissan Leaf BMS and re-program it. It is a very complicated work and only can done by our professional technicians. We send the re-programmed BMS together with the battery pack to customers.
