Like him, we should draw inspiration both from religion and Science, and we should use these inspirations to love entire humanity and for promoting peace and harmony in the entire world. I have recently started using U.tube...but I have been reading articles of Dr. HoodBhouy in The Newspapers for many years. He is really Admirable Honest Man. Books reading is my hobby. Dr. Parvej is a respected person in India. I am senior citizen and find this talk very useful . Comments and views shared by anchor and Dr. Parvej regarding Santan Dharma ( Vedic Hindu religion) during conversation show's thier lack of knowledge about same, and honestly I don't blame them for the same , As they have not read Barham Sutra or Nasdiya Sukata of Rigveda regarding universe and such other scriptures. However I do find this talk very objective and interesting. With Regards to both of them.

I am from India. The interviewer understands nothing but religion and repeating the same uncomfortable question to Dr. Pervez's about his view on religion in relation to science. Dr. Pervez is really great and knowledgeable person in his field. If the interview was taken by a student of science (of university level) it would be more beneficial for the students.
The whole nation is suffering from anchoring bias. Their minds are caged in religious ideologies. Its almost impossible for them to recover from this mental disability

If you are kind to the people your life goes smoothly, if you are bad you will suffer alot. I’m a true believer in KARMA. And as Dr. Pervez mentioned that the universe has been set like a clock and left it free. So the question raises. If GOD has set the universe like a clock, so what he is doing now? What he is waiting for? What is the purpose behind it? The last thing is. If we talk about scriptures doesn’t matter whatever is it l. Whether Quran, Bible, geeta etc. No book says that humans exist on other planets. And so far science has been unable to discover or proved these scriptures wrong. Initially I was fond of science, and argue with people about science, then I discussed a moulvi, and discussion was very long, I tried hard to explain that earth is round and moving around sun, but moulvi sahib convinced me the sharia way and logic, and finally I get convinced by him, and the grace of almighty, now I too believe the earth is spread out/flat, not moving and sun moves around the earth, alhamdulillah, now no science for me, only deen,❤

My friend dont know about your religion but all ibrahimic religions beleive in other creations such as angels and jinns (probably referred as rakshaasa in hinduism). In Islam no where it says, man is the only creation. It mentions about creations (creatures) in heavenS. Its a plural not singular. May be with more advancement in science we might be able to understand what is meant by heavens in religios texts. I would recomend read about prohpet Mohammad's travel to heavens on a animal called buraq, just for understanding how religio talks about science rather than just fictional science. As that trip Scientifically speaking points to traveling near to, equal to or greater than speed of light. Such high speed travel was completed refuted by the people of that time. But we know its possible and super/hyper sonic achieving speeds is common now. The problem in comparing religin and science is that science can just simply say sorry i was wrong and here is the corrected version of theory. Where as religion (speaking of islam only here) claims to be final word till the end of time and guidance for humanity has to compress information and deliver it in such chosen words that people in every time can understand according to their knowledge, and it cannot change its words or claim.

You fail to remain impartial and unbiased, you are prisoner of your religious beliefs and can't think outside of it. Credit goes to matured scientist for being nice, if it would be me, I would kick the desk and just simply walk out. Who has given you right to ask such nasty questions? The anchor is too narrow-minded and too limited in his approach, due to his religiosity, to actually learn anything from the great person in front of him. He kept coming back to religion and quran.
Mr. Israr, the handsome and eloquent interviewer, started so well but with passing minutes he meandered into taking on a new role of a prosecutor with his interviewee (Mr. Hoodbhoy) in the dock. If this interview had gone on a little longer, I was expecting Mr. Israr’s next question to be, “Now that you are guilty of blasphemy, shouldn’t you be taken to the gallows?” or maybe “Are you Brelvi, Deobandi or whatever?”. What a travesty of decency!
Shah Alam i dont think so. There always are interviews where the host n the guest do have an exchange of difficult questions. And at one point the host seems to be attacking the guest. I believe many of bbc’s hard talk interviews do go like that. There’s nothing wrong with asking difficult questions. And being persistent in trying to get an answer or approaching a certain question from many angles.

There are many laws in physics which has been evolved with the passage of time. And another critical question from sir Pervez is that why the force of attraction cannot be disturbed that compel the electron to revolve around itself although there are many factors that can do.

Israr kasana seems conservative muslim and entire interview is focused on drawing Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy towards insinuating and make him speak against religion OR anti-raligion OR anti-belief. There are most of Pakistani who migrated to WEST are carrying similar hard-line radical fundamentalist and narrow-minded islamic ideologies and biases against other non-islamic religions,. This kind of interviews exposed their sick mind-set.
I have heard, saw n number of interviews of Mr. Parvez Hoodbhai, why does every anchor has to compare religion and science? I mean he scientists so talk about science only, do talk science with any religious scholar,no. Then why talk religion with scientist? I find it quite weird because most of his lectures, interviews and videos are on similar lines more or less.
@Fahad Wasi May be you are right saying about Quran, I know nothing about it. It's context may be different and it's written almost 1400 years ago. Why can't keep the discussion more contemporary. Because what I find amusing is people from subcontinent don't own up to the culture here, they rather try and own up with Arab culture (I have nothing against Arabs) I think culture and religion are two separate things. Why mix it? In almost every interview Mr. Hoodbhai will talk about Arab scientists, again nothing wrong in it. But at the same time what one need to understand is here in our subcontinent science and technology was there much before Islam came into existence. What I am trying to say is why look at the science thru religious perspective all the time. Why not look at it as Science only. We should learn, or follow all the good thing, doesn't matter from where it is? Thanks

I am not a scientist. An engineer with a tinny amount of knowledge.
But if i use logics and my personal 40 years of life experience. I truly believe that there’s a power behind the universe.

And as Dr. Pervez mentioned that the universe has been set like a clock and left it free.
So the question raises. If GOD has set the universe like a clock, so what he is doing now? What he is waiting for? What is the purpose behind it?
The last thing is. If we talk about scriptures doesn’t matter whatever is it l. Whether Quran, Bible, geeta etc. No book says that humans exist on other planets. And so far science has been unable to discover or proved these scriptures wrong.

Initially I was fond of science, and argue with people about science, then I discussed a moulvi, and discussion was very long, I tried hard to explain that earth is round and moving around sun, but moulvi sahib convinced me the sharia way and logic, and finally I get convinced by him, and the grace of almighty, now I too believe the earth is spread out/flat, not moving and sun moves around the earth, alhamdulillah, now no science for me, only deen,❤

My friend dont know about your religion but all ibrahimic religions beleive in other creations such as angels and jinns (probably referred as rakshaasa in hinduism). In Islam no where it says, man is the only creation. It mentions about creations (creatures) in heavenS. Its a plural not singular. May be with more advancement in science we might be able to understand what is meant by heavens in religios texts. I would recomend read about prohpet Mohammad's travel to heavens on a animal called buraq, just for understanding how religio talks about science rather than just fictional science. As that trip Scientifically speaking points to traveling near to, equal to or greater than speed of light. Such high speed travel was completed refuted by the people of that time. But we know its possible and super/hyper sonic achieving speeds is common now.
The problem in comparing religin and science is that science can just simply say sorry i was wrong and here is the corrected version of theory. Where as religion (speaking of islam only here) claims to be final word till the end of time and guidance for humanity has to compress information and deliver it in such chosen words that people in every time can understand according to their knowledge, and it cannot change its words or claim.

Mr. Israr, the handsome and eloquent interviewer, started so well but with passing minutes he meandered into taking on a new role of a prosecutor with his interviewee (Mr. Hoodbhoy) in the dock. If this interview had gone on a little longer, I was expecting Mr. Israr’s next question to be, “Now that you are guilty of blasphemy, shouldn’t you be taken to the gallows?” or maybe “Are you Brelvi, Deobandi or whatever?”. What a travesty of decency!
Shah Alam i dont think so. There always are interviews where the host n the guest do have an exchange of difficult questions. And at one point the host seems to be attacking the guest. I believe many of bbc’s hard talk interviews do go like that. There’s nothing wrong with asking difficult questions. And being persistent in trying to get an answer or approaching a certain question from many angles.

There are many laws in physics which has been evolved with the passage of time.
And another critical question from sir Pervez is that why the force of attraction cannot be disturbed that compel the electron to revolve around itself although there are many factors that can do.
Israr kasana seems conservative muslim and entire interview is focused on drawing Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy towards insinuating and make him speak against religion OR anti-raligion OR anti-belief.
There are most of Pakistani who migrated to WEST are carrying similar hard-line radical fundamentalist and narrow-minded islamic ideologies and biases against other non-islamic religions,. This kind of interviews exposed their sick mind-set.

I have heard, saw n number of interviews of Mr. Parvez Hoodbhai, why does every anchor has to compare religion and science? I mean he scientists so talk about science only, do talk science with any religious scholar,no. Then why talk religion with scientist? I find it quite weird because most of his lectures, interviews and videos are on similar lines more or less.

It's context may be different and it's written almost 1400 years ago. Why can't keep the discussion more contemporary.
Because what I find amusing is people from subcontinent don't own up to the culture here, they rather try and own up with Arab culture (I have nothing against Arabs) I think culture and religion are two separate things. Why mix it? In almost every interview Mr. Hoodbhai will talk about Arab scientists, again nothing wrong in it. But at the same time what one need to understand is here in our subcontinent science and technology was there much before Islam came into existence.
What I am trying to say is why look at the science thru religious perspective all the time. Why not look at it as Science only.
We should learn, or follow all the good thing, doesn't matter from where it is?
