I did two electives of woodworking in high school, never followed through, my career went elsewhere. I have very fond memories of my lathe work. And I have a beautiful maple side table next to me as I speak, which I hand made with the lathe, routers, band and coping saws when I was 11 years old. I am 52 now. Superb piece of wood and turning here. Congratulations..

It is never too late, you know. Hobbies are better than careers. Hobbies let you go where you want, on your own time. Older lady here and just trying to learn blacksmithing now that I am of kitten strength. Never give up your dreams.

Unfortunately being disabled your income is limited and had to sell all my equipment just to keep the utilities on and food in my daughter's stomach. I watch a lot of woodturners & enjoy the work of all of them but there are only a handful that can make woodturning look as easy & relaxed as you do David. I even like your use of resin unlike some who overuse it to avoid some of the extreme challenges that some pieces of wood present. This is such a delightful piece to add to all of your other delightful pieces. You are a great role model for future woodturners as they develop. Congratulations, Don from South Aust.

Beautiful piece. About ten years ago, I dug a basketball sized cherry root burl out of a neighbor's yard, when they had their cherry tree cut down. I had sealed it, and was waiting patiently for it to dry, and cure properly before working it. I left the area for a while, and my uncle went by the house to check on things, and saw this piece of wood, thought it would make a long burning piece of fire wood, and burned it. It was such a heart breaker. It was cool to see someone make something similar, and see it come to fruition. Makes it not quite as bad. Thanks

The patterns of nature in so many things like wood and stone never cease to amaze me when worked to a polish. Just stunning!

David Adamsen is the best woodworker on TH-cam, IMO. There are several other great ones, but; the quality of the video production, no voiceovers and the amazing pieces puts him at the top of my list.

Thanks Tommy. That is high praise, which imo I probably don’t deserve. I still have a lot to learn!

@@DavidAdamsen You deserve it, David. It’s amazing to see you turn a simple piece of wood into a masterpiece of artwork. Your use of resin and epoxy is incredible. Keep up the great work! Happy New Year! 🎆🎊

First, OMG ! What a gorgeous piece.😳 I can't believe how you came up that process. If I didn't see it being made I would have thought it was marble. It reminds me of an old world map. You're amazing 🤩

Very very beautiful! The finished color was not too dark or light which was a perfect compliment to the wood grain. I love it!

I bet you love to make things but hate to clean it all up! It’s like cooking a great meal, then getting stuck with a sink full of dishes, lol! This is beautiful!!!

Hi David - this is a stunning piece and as a fellow woodworker/woodturner I can really appreciate the time and effort that went into this project. Your videography is superb and the editing produces a dreamy hypnotic film. I’m currently filming some of my work in preparation to launch my own channel. Very inspiring all round. Well done and best wishes- Jim

Absolutely stunning. I would love something like that in our own home. A true piece of art that can be passed down to the next generation.
I was looking at your shop drooling a bit at how beautiful your pieces are. I’ve got to start saving my money in order to own a piece of your beautiful art! And before anyone gets huffy at the prices. Remember *real* art does not come at Walmart prices!

The video I watched before this one was an Olive wood burle that DID break into many pieces but he was able to finish making it into one of his best pieces! Amazing work, talent, creativity and imagination!! ❤
