    A recent study indicated there was a 71% decrease in feelings of anxiety and 73% decrease in feelings of depression for evaluated art participants. Stopping the Chase helps clients who struggle with depression and anxiety understand that these issues are caused by a disconnect between the body and the brain because the brain can go forward, backward, and present, but our bodies can only do one. When there's a disconnect between our thoughts and our feelings, it can throw us into a state of turmoil on a regular basis.

Art is an excellent way to heal and give our thoughts energy.

    Art forces you to be in the present moment now, because your attention is drawn to whatever it is that you're creating, whether it be a painting or you're doing some other type of creative process like making jewelry maybe graphic design you know any kind of creative process that would classify as art it keeps you in that present moment so you're not really thinking about the past you're not really focusing on the future you're just in that moment in the current moment.
    Art Can Help People Reconnect with Joy
    People can become emotional remembering things because the body keeps score with the good and the bad, and as people talk about memories, the body is almost remembering things as if it was yesterday. Joy is very important because the body keeps score, even with joy.
    Healing is a Process
    The more steps that are taken, the more momentum increases the more opportunities unfold.
    Art Can Help when Dealing with Matters of the Heart
    Divorce is hard not only for you individually, but it can also be hard on families as well, because you're changing the structure that you have worked so hard to create.
    Transitioning through divorce involves grief, which is a process that can begin before the actual divorce because one or both parties can sense the strain and the eventual breaking of the relationship.
    Art can be helpful when processing through the emotions experienced during and after a divorce because artistic expression is about getting the emotions out, out of the head, out of the heart, and finding a place to put it.
    Sometimes Painful Experiences are Necessary to the process. you've got to basically destroy everything that was before so whatever's new can emerge
    Start Small
    Do something every day. Creativity is a muscle, just like biceps. One must exercise it. How it is developed will be a unique process from person to person, and there is no one-stop shop plan, or a single path from point A to point B.
    Focus on Things that Feel Joyful
    Creative expression is not limited to just painting. It may be writing, videography, yoga or it could be cooking or sewing. Whatever the artform, it's an opportunity to express and to create something that wasn't there before.
