    the mechanics of the swing and the fine details like the mental game ,all have played a big part in lowering my h- cap thanks to your videos .

    I've been going to the same range for about 4 years, during that time, I see many people go through 180 balls in the time span of maybe 1 to 1 1/2 hours. In that 4 years, I rarely, if ever see any improvement in these folks. As you both eluded to, the best or the most improved players tend to take their time, to work things out. For me, after I hit a ball, I'll stop and think about what I just did, good, bad or indifferent..I work Hard on my game, and in the last year, I've been told by people at the range how much better I'm striking the ball, but better than that,I'm far more consistent, and am scoring better on the course, partly thanks to Eric. So yeah, I love this video, love to see more.

      Love it! Thanks for the message and feedback! A great routine like this combined with identifying the correct mechanics to work on and good feedback and you're on your way!

    One of the best videos I’ve seen on how to practice properly to take your swing to the course. Very practical information. Thanks!!

    This is great stuff. I have worked at many golf facilities, and one thing I’ve seen are people who loyal are to practicing (4-5x per week) but hardly improve. The 2 things I do to stay engaged are 1. practice with my entire preshot routine and 2. rotate different clubs and shots often, maybe only hitting 1-2 shots with a club before changing to a completely different club/shot.

    Great information and well presented. It’s also super helpful to have those clarifications and summaries throughout. Every golf video should be like this 👍🏼

      @@CogornoGolf, I've also indirectly discovered Iain's own TH-cam channel, Game Like Training, which deserves far more subscribers. Thanks for bringing his training to attention, as well as your own great content. It's outside-of-the-box training/learning concepts like both of yours that sets you both apart from the rest. I look forward to more of your content to try dropping my handi.

    Im a regular viewer of your channel. I just found this older video. I’m frustrated that my success on the range is not translating to the course like I’d like it to. I’m going to try this. Do you have other ideas to help with this too?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks David! For sure---we go through our stock practice plan to transfer to the course---its a specific 80 ball practice set I use with all of my students....this will show you how to practice consistently so that it transfers

    This is a great video backed by science. It has been scientifically proven with brain scans that you cannot memorize your golf swing. The brain does not work that way. Every golf swing is created by the brain and each one is slightly different. It's why solid fundamentals and technique are so important. Banging balls on a range does not remotely resemble the game of golf and yet I have been guilty on many occasions of trying to hit crisp shot after crisp shot because it becomes the addiction when on the range. Looking forward to incorporating this method into my practice. Very excited about future videos!

    Good video, but do you distinguish between practice and warm up?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      This would be a practice session....not a warm up.
      I usually suggest doing a warm up where you do wedge distance simultaneously....like this one

    I feel like I'm the complete opposite. I take my time on the range and think about every little thing. I feel like when I'm on the course, I tend to do the same thing and end up playing badly. Any advice?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Chad!
      Of course I have a lot of advice but I simply would need to know more from you...
      Do you hit it well on the range?
      Hows your pre shot routine?
      IS your contact reliable?
      Do you have a ball pattern built in?
      What are you GIR?
      Up and down %?
      Driver distance?
      Penalty shots?
      Putting %s
      etc, etc.
      This routine is designed to make you perform the best....but you still need to be proficient in mechanics and skills in all areas. Its no magic bullet. Hope that helps!
