Thanks Mikey, very underrated video. This helped a ton. I live next to a very steep hill with busy traffic, so I can’t sleep unless I know what to do if it’s a stop and go type of thing…
Thank you, mate! This is very very helpful. I was so scared to death of a stall hapoening mid hill until I stumbled upon your very educational video. You are a life saver. I'm just starting to learn how to operate a manual motorcycle and this video helped me a lot. Cheers to you, mate! 🍻
That's fine with a lighter bike like the one in the video but with a very heavy bike it's often not practical or safe to only have your left foot on the ground at a stop - especially on a hill. I ride a huge Triumph Rocket 3 Touring (2300 CCs) that, as setup can weigh 1,000 lbs. It makes a HD seem tiny in comparison. With my wife and I on the bike the total weight can be over 1300 pounds. I always put both feet down at a stop but I easily make perfect stops and starts even on very steep hills. I hold the bike in place with just the front brake. It's an easy matter to give it a little gas while still holding the front brake. Then I ease of the front brake while feathering the clutch until the bike won't roll back when releasing the brake and then I take off as usual. So saying you have to hold the bike with the rear brake isn't really true. A really big, heavy bike often requires both feet on the ground at stops and using only the front brake is really quite easy after just a little practice.
As a 0 experience rider, i only ever felt the weight of my bike once. As i nearly dropped it at low speed, but caught it with my right leg instead. Fear nothing! Go for it, 300 miles later i have all the confidence necessary!
FOR BEGINER:in a hill of you are afraid to stall, give generous amount of throttle ,let the clutch go swiftly while shifting all your weigth backward =)
9 minute video?! make sure the bike is in first gear hold the rear brake with your right foot, with your left foot down friction zone the clutch till the nose of the bike starts to dive down a bit, give it just a bit of gas take your right foot off the brake - off you go!

you just earned a sub
I was really scared of how to ride a flyover in heavy traffic, avoiding the bike to roll back down
thanks a lot man
Great video, I recently encountered a wild steep hill that had a stop sign on top and it humbled me, appreciate the break down 🙏
thanks. I will practice this 🎉 pov is the best tutorial. been watching a lot of uphill vids and not enough. really need POV!

I also face the same issue with a heavy bike but haven't mastered the hand brake technique so I avoid the very steep ones for now😅
get a lighter bike
Can you use your front brake to pull off on a hill????
Or is it dangerous??
Thanks for the viedeo mate! What bike is it?
I live on one so I’m nervous going up it i think I may stall now down just a lil nervous
what motorcycle are you riding ?
0:35 RED LIGHT !!
What's the best gear to go uphill on a bike
1st or 2nd
Thanks brother!
How does it feel like driving it, like is it heavy ? and how long does it take to find your balance ?
You won’t feel it heavy unless it falls and balance I would say if you can ride a bike you can ride a motorcycle
Yeah basically like a bike but bulkier so harder to maneuver but its fun

That's the biggest hill you can find?
Giving advice while speeding up on a red light goes for a thumbs down!!
9 minute video?!
make sure the bike is in first gear
hold the rear brake with your right foot, with your left foot down
friction zone the clutch till the nose of the bike starts to dive down a bit, give it just a bit of gas
take your right foot off the brake - off you go!
