I love this unit. However I'm having an issue wherein the default countdown for my PIN lock is 40 seconds. I can't find an option to reduce it to 20 seconds and I'm concerned that 40 seconds gives a would-be thief plenty of time to locate and potentially remove the unit before the system locks up. Any advice?
There will be multiple changes and advancements coming for Pin Lock in the near future including menu various menu options. By the way, have you seen our TaZer Shield that we recently released?
There are many features of the TaZer JL that are not compatible with the 4XE due to limitations of the vehicle, not sure if that's what they're referring to. What issues are you hearing of?
Although I do really love this feature, I was a bit caught off to learn it doesn't like the Auto Start/Stop of the Jeep. When my engine restarts at an intersection, it instantly locks the brakes without warning. Not good when you should be accelerating for the green light and you suddenly come to a stop and the horns behind you start blowing. The only work around seems to leave the Auto Start/Stop disabled full-time. Hopefully there is an update for this bug in the near future.
Appreciate the comment on the bug, it's actually one that's been mentioned to us a good amount. I believe the engineer has found a fix for it and is just testing the integrity of it on as many Jeep models as possible at the moment.
@@zautomotive any update on this? I currently have a 4XE myself and want to buy this badly, but DO NOT like that it does that for safety reasons. If fixed I will buy! 👌🏼
@@youngj7 yes that’s actually been fixed months ago, but we haven’t made a full update video here on TH-cam because we keep coming up with newer better advancements to pin lock and associated features. But the auto stop/start issue has been resolved
This is awesome. I have it on my diesel gladiator. Any chance of getting some diesel features? Being able to do a manual regen would be fantastic. I've to go to the dealership twice now to get them to do it. Thank you.
on the 21 Durango the odb port is very visible. Is there something in works to keep pin active if thief removes tazer? I would love to test products going forward as I've had taser for 7 years plus
There are many advancements coming for this feature. One of our latest shorts was a teaser about one of those advancements if you'd like to check it out. We are navigating different avenues to add as many layers of protection as possible. If you'd like to be a beta tester when those new features are ready for testing, that would be great. Please contact support via email (support@zautotech.com) and they can put you on the list for beta testing
Do you guys have a Challenger Tazer that plugs into security bypass area? I dont like that it plugs into OBD port. Also looking at adding a front camera similar to JL options but need something for Hellcat grill.
See our Double Bypass module as it does just that. For all 2018 and newer models of the Chargers and Challengers the OBD2 can't be used so we made the Double Bypass as a secondary OBD2 port which gets installed in the trunk. This is also available for 2011-2017 Chargers and 2015-2017 Challengers, this is what we use for our 2016 Challenger R/T Scatpack
@@zautomotive just order the mini for the security feature..I know the lights show works if the wrong code is entered..what about the horn..going off just like the alarm if code is not entered..

It doesn't plug into the OBD port. As mentioned at the end of the video, this is just the base launch and there will be more advancements coming out in future firmware updates. We are also looking into other avenues of protecting the TaZer, which will be a future video
@@DamienDavidO we’re coming out with a security box for the TaZer JL and TaZer DT, but also look into our recent shorts and the new features that are coming out. Those features involve disabling the pedal, which will remain disabled even if the TaZer is unplugged
Would be cool if it didn't have to be plugged in where a thief can just remove it and steal your ride. And this doesn't require an obd2 bypass on the JLs?
The TaZer JL uses the security gateway connectors... also this is a base launch, more coming out for this feature as we work through future updates, ideas, and partnerships
Thank you for the continued development on the Tazer!
Any development or ideas on quick charging the 4xe using gas engine? 4xe winch mode?!? 😂

On JT, when setting pin, do you let go of the "cancel" button on left side?
Yes, when you’re in the Pin setup menu you would let go of the buttons on the left side of the wheel
EXCELLENT video

How does accelerating in drive when pin locked not affect the transmission?

So if the device is removed from the obd2 port it stops protection and the thief can steal the vehicle? Is that correct?
