- In Part 1 we showed you how to use the Z Automotive Tazer Pin Lock feature on your Jeep Wrangler JL or JT to prevent Jeep theft or car jacking. There have been a handful of questions coming up right away, so I decided to answer them in this Part 2 video.

Lemon and lime Jeep’s. I love it💯
I would think to cut the connector & run a long wire to the back seat & take it & connect that mini ( Run the wire thru the right side passenger so it’s not notice!
Plenty obvious to an experienced thief as soon as he notices the PIN request and count down: “hmm must have a Tazer.” Perhaps tap into the cable somehow and move into engine compartment which is securely locked. A thief can still figure that out but will have to either force the hood lock(s) or drill them…time, time time is his enemy. Better yet have Tazer forget all that stuff, simply not let the vehicle start or turn over at all and lock the brakes and tranny and activate thru a separate fob. In reality, if they want it they will push it but again time, time time is their enemy. Noise helps too. Make them go somewhere else. The Tazer is a cool idea but seems they could harden a lot more against theft.
Z Automotive should move the pin setting from live settings to vehicle settings so it will stay even if someone unplug it. Unless Z Automotive put it this way so in case the pin doesn’t work you still have a way to bypass it and unplug and keep going
Thank you so much for your work! The idea with a pin code is very interesting, even if a potential hijacker "calculates" the pin, then the time spent on it will catastrophically reduce the interval between the road and the prison! For them it is critical! And I believe that entering the pin code should be in the car's system by default, from the factory.
Wait, are you the ozark Adventures, dude?
I used Velcro on mine, and mounted behind the lower steering column panel.
I’m trying to think of a way to secure it so that a thief couldn’t easily unplug and remove it.
@Clouder77 that’s exactly what I was picturing. Something that bolts down under the dash.
It will be great to show how it's work on 4xe
I use the Mad Max theft device. A black box, toggle switch, red indicator light, and a block of C-4 explosive! 😉👍🏻
ideas for our next update lol
Nice redbird plate from a fellow Illinoisan. Just got my first Wrangler about a week ago. 😁
Congrats!
🤣 watched part 1, 2 mins ago. Didn't see anyone mention the garage door, but I did. Just lookin out for ya dude👍
People on the Jeep forum were very concerned! 😂
If the wires were cut (simulating the wires were unplugged), would the vehicle start? @Clouder77
I just spent 325 bucks on this tazer JL mini device and I specifically bought it for the security features - pin lock and hood lock alarm and this bothers me. I have a 2023 Rubicon 392 and it’s my baby and I love it. I want to protect my vehicle and I just spoke to Z automotive and they told me it will most likely be there next update that will keep that feature on if it’s unplugged. We’ll see
There are also some options for locking or securing the Tazer under the dash.
Hey I have a lifted 37s teraflex rims same
It has never not wobbled , since the tires the front rim must be bent!
aircraft safety wire it, around the wires and around taser unit to that steal cross frame! you cant just pull the stainless safety wire to break it it takes a tool and some time
Nice video.
Two questions:
For taking the jeep to service you would have to pull the device out or is there a service mode?
Carjackers will always ask for the remote unless they have a duplicate. I wonder if the pin activates when the fob leaves the vehicle envelope even if it comes back inside. As if they get you out but asks for the fob.
Hello, just thinking if you try to hide it or screw it using a bracket the thieves can still use a auto pry tool to tear apart the cover or trim. EDIT / OPT#2, If you get car jacked with Tazer well hidden, quickly shut the engine off to allow the engine start-up process recycle, then, a pin code is required again.
good point
I recommend a. couple monoxide detectors in your garage.
😂😂😂
You showed when you remove it before the count down ends, but what happen if the count down has ended and brakes are locked?
That’s a good question
Does this void warranty? Just got into a mojave 3 days ago. Also just found out about this product.
Thanks
Hi, thank for the valuable information.
Sorry for asking under this topic. I have a mojave 2021 where I had installed tazer mini. I am facing an issue since I marry my device, when I engage my 4WD all time the front axle does not engage. I unmarry the Tazer the all was working well In 4wd.
Do you have face this or have answers for my issue.
Many thanks
When parking the vehicle disconnect the fuel relay/injector fuse, I doubt that the thieves will have one that will fit.
So, if I config this for anti-theft, does this feature hog up all the steering wheel buttons or can I still use them for other features? I think this is a cool feature but wouldn't give up my 2-WD, lightshow and winch mode to gain one feature.
I’m not sure about the steering wheel settings. I have not used any of the steering wheel quick sets
This is more of a detterent, better than nothin. I good theft will always be one step ahead.
a question
What if I take the teaser out of the car, does it still work?
No, it has to remain plugged in.
Thanks for all the info! Have a question, have you any idea if forced 2wd yields you better gas mileage in the 392 and also, where did you get the 392 badging for the rear? Thanks!!
I have been trying to test to see if I get better MPG’s in rwd but I haven’t been able to put enough miles on yet to confirm. I ordered the rear 392 badge from the Jeep dealer. It’s just one of the hood emblems and I cut off the tabs and stuck it on.
You should do research on CO (Carbon Monoxide) effects on human physiology.
I appreciate your concern for my safety, but I assure you there was plenty of airflow through the garage.
When you take the tazer out to update it, do you have to unmarry it before I disconnect it from the Jeep? Thanks
No, you don’t have to unmarry it.
@@shockerracing I think this is a really good idea I didn't know they had . Thanks for the info.
👍
ThankGod thiefs don’t watch youtube… so they’ll never know.
😂
So if the thieves didn't know to unplug the tazer, they do NOW.
Great job moptop! Way to go. 😮
