@@nbtextremes I did an update and it fixed it. When I use the FOB I don't have to put in the pin, but if I forget and just hop in (which happens from time to time) or manually lock the doors with the button, the pin has been working as advertised.

One recommendation i would love to see for a future update if possible is an option that automatically locks the car after a set period of time if the car is left unlocked with the keyfob out of the car. Having the option to choose between normal lock and pedal kill lock in this scenario would be great as well. To many times now adays you see people just accidentally leave their cars unlocked due to keeping their keys in their pockets and not even thinking about it.

I just got the Tazer DT for my TRX recently, oddly enough I can still put my truck into gear and drive even without entering the pin. Also even know it's married the pin countdown does not pop up regardless of info screen and I can clear my PIN without having to confirm my old pin.
1. The Tazer Pin Lock does not stop the vehicle from going into gear, and you need to turn on the other features for something to actually happen (brakes locking up, horn going off, pedal going dead, etc) 2. The Tazer does not need to be married to the vehicle for Pin Lock to function; Pin Lock is a live feature 3. You can clear your pin without re-entering your pin. You’ve already entered your pin, that’s the only way to even get to the clear pin option

This is great information, can't wait to update mine, but my question is what if you have this stuff activated and something goes wrong with the tazer or it malfunctions how will you drive the car?
You mentioned if we valet the car or take it to a dealership we can use PIN Disable, does this mean we don't have to unmarry and unplug the device anymore when we take it for service?
That depends. It's always recommended to unmarry and remove the TaZer before any service work, but some people may have dealerships that know of the TaZer and may have a good working relationship with them. PIN Disable may be a useful option for those that have that working relationship with their dealer, although keeping the TaZer plugged in is not recommended for service work.
After locking the car with the key fob, then coming back later and opening the car with the key fob you don't need to enter the code yes? Is there a certain amount of time that you have to start the car after using the fob? EX: I unlock the car with the fob, a friend calls me over to see something in his car. This takes a minute. If I get into my car, (don't forget I unlocked it) can I just start it without using the pin?
Yes, there is a certain amount of time before it will start asking for the pin again even if you unlocked it from the key fob. The time it takes for the vehicle to full go to sleep varies per vehicle. Once the vehicle goes to sleep, the TaZer will ask for the Pin the next time is is started
What if you disable the pedal through the menu and leave the tazer in and someone finds it and rips it out and leaves with it, would the car be permanently disabled?
I'm considering getting one ever since my car got broken into about 2 weeks ago. But won't this void warranty? Or am I blending this in with your guys' tuner?

Greetings , I am getting a wrangler. Great video how would I remove the need to plug in a taser in the front where it can be removed. Will this work with a taser min ?
These updated features are not yet available on the TaZer mini, just the base pin lock features where it locks up the brakes. You could always purchase out TaZer shield to help from the TaZer mini from being removed www.zautomotive.com/product/tazer-shield/
I have a 2015 Challenger, i got update 2.5.9 and have loved it thus far but i got 2 things i would like more info on. Ever since updating to 2.5.9, now when i open my door with the engine on my car makes the chime sound and flashes "fob battery low" on the dash until i close the door. Not sure if that is a feature or a bug but im not a fan of it and am hoping there is a way to turn that off. My second question is regarding the new way pin lock acts. While overall i like it, i am a little concerned that 40 seconds is a bit to much time for a smart dodge car jacker to get the car on and moving before pin lock kicks in and even then it's still a matter of when the car slows down enough before the brakes actually lock up. I totally understand the car having to be slow enough before the brakes lock but my question is, is it possible to shorten the time from 40 seconds to say maybe 20 seconds or less before brake lock activates? Personally i would prefer 10 seconds but that's just me. If not i think this would be a great option to let us choose in the future and possibly consider shortening the time for by default. The Average theft time of a Challenger is 40 seconds but that includes the time it takes to get into the car and start it. Once thiefs start the vehicle they're pretty much gone within 10 seconds or less most of the time. In this regards i actually think the old pinlock method of locking the car on start-up was safer. That being said i do like the idea of having an initial delay (the new way pinlock is) but I think how long that delay is really should be customizable or give us the option to lock on startup like before. 40 seconds is just to long in my opinion. Sorry for the long comment just wanted to put my experience out there. Love your guy's products man you guys do incredible work, keep it coming💪
The "fob battery low" notification is warning you that Car-Jack Mode is going to activate if the key is removed from the car and then the car door closed. In 2.6.0, it will just flash the hazards and you will hear an audible tick You can add your concerns about the Pin Lock countdown here: www.zautomotive.com/suggestions/
Hello, is there a Tazer product for 2023 Dodge Durango R/T ? I saw on the website that it will not work with Uconnect 5? Will there be a future Tazer for newer Durango’s
Question about the carjack feature. You demonstrate the owner/driver leaving the car with the key fob. But what if the fob is left in the car? Or what if the carjacker demands the fob? Will PIN lock still function and lock up the brakes even these instances? Does the mere physical action of opening and closing the driver's door activate carjack mode?
In your car jack mode, you take the keys out of the vehicle and place them outside. You get back in the car, try to drive away, then the car locks up after coming to a stop. You then enter the code, to unlock the vehicle, you said, "The vehicle shuts off" then you enter pin, put it in gear and you drive on. How did it start again without the key?
That’s actually a very good question… I’ll need to look into that a bit more, could be vehicle specific, as it didn’t fully fall asleep and electronics were still running.
After taking a closer look with our support staff, the car allowed us to turn the vehicle back on even without the key (and after entered the pin) because the vehicle was still in gear@@rbaroncpd
My only wish is that when you show the options like setting pin, turning off pin, KillbyFob selection, is that you tell us: "With the car running you do this, or with the car in the run position, you do this." That would be very helpful for me and I am sure others as well.
Question here. For the 2011-2014 cars with the 5 speed auto Will pinlock be able to tell if someone has pressed the shift lock button and activate the pin lock? It is much easier to do it on those cars with that transmission. Thanks!
I just bought and updated my Tazer to the latest Uodate 2.5.9 Does this update include the windows up and down feature or do I have to download all the firmware individually?
@@mankamalchana4956 that’s awful. We have nothing in place that can stop that or being taken from by a tow truck. Even with pin lock, the vehicle can still be put into gear. Sorry the vehicle was taken
@@yvngbixxqikk8808 those are two different things. Killbyfob disables the gas pedal; pin brakes locks the brakes if/when Pin Lock is triggered and the vehicle is running
So if I use remote start, will that trigger the countdown for pin lock or only when I go from remote start to actually starting the car, will that trigger pin lock
What happens if you have the pin lock enabled and all the pin lock triggers options selected? Does the killbyfob over ride entering the pin entirely for all the pin lock options or just the pedal? I just bought the DL for my TRX and loving it so far but I am still trying to learn it. Thank you!
So although Pin Pedal and the KillByFob both disable the gas pedal, they are different features. Pin pedal will only disable the pedal when Pin Lock is triggered; when the countdown runs out, or the vehicle is put into gear before the Pin is entered. KillByFob is similar to KillPedalNow in that it's more of a pre-bricking precaution, both of which will keep the pedal disabled even if the TaZer is removed. Whereas, Pin Pedal only disables the pedal when Pin Lock is triggered and when the TaZer remains plugged into the vehicle. KillbyFob can be disabled by the keyfob and by entering the Pin, whereas KillPedalNow can only be disabled by entering your PIN from inside the vehicle
@@zautomotive Thank you for this explanation and for all of your guys hard work!!! In other words, it adds like double protection with pin lock set and killbyfob used simultaneously, the way I see it
On a manual transmission will pin lock activate once the car is put in gear like an automatic or does the countdown have to hit zero before the pedal goes dead and brakes lock up?
Hey question - I’m have an rt and I did the trunk installation of the tazer. Everything works except my srt pages l. I still have default screen. I’ve did reboots and sleep cycles but the srt pages won’t come up
Big Question Involving Pin Lock with "Kill by Fob". My understanding is that "Kill by Fob" does two things at the same time when Pin is enabled: 1 - It prevents theft by copying Fob signal to foreign fobs 2 - The function allows you to bypass the pin when using the same fob that locked it. Car thieves are getting wise (or even dumber) by now attempting to steal the keys/fobs at gunpoint, so I want to use the 'KillByFob" function to deter theft by signal copy, but DON'T want the easy Pin bypass if a car thief comes up to me at work and says "Give me your keys" to which gives them the bypass since the fob was the same to lock it. Is there a way to retain the security benefit of "KillByFob" and still require the Pin entry - even if it's the same key fob? I would rather throw the keys at the robber and run away for safety, and still have my vehicle require the pin to thwart the theft - without compromising the ability to deter thieves from copying the signal.
No. This is not designed to deter from robbery of someone’s keys. Not even designed as an antitheft device but an added layer of protection to the already jam packed Tazer as an additional feature
Yes it will be coming to the TaZer RAM. The TaZer RAM is often last to get the updates being that we do not have a DS RAM of our own to test on... but it will coming eventually
No. Please refer to the “killbyfob best practices” section of the video. The vehicle is off, and the car is being locked by the lock button on the keyfob
@@zautomotive I was reading the manual and it stated that the car had to be on. It confused me and that’s why I was clarifying. I love all your videos. They are very easy to follow. Thank you very much.
As far as we know. We don’t know of any other way to unbrick the BCM except through the TaZer, but we’re not 100% sure of all the ways they take the cars, that’s why we say it’s good to have multiple layers of protection. We are constantly researching and adapting the feature and products as we find new information
Thanks for your response. I think the bricked pedal will stop most people from stealing the lower trim models. Mine is a 14 charger se with the v6. But it has the sport trim package. For sure though the higher trim packages people will need expensive equipment and expertise to un brick the pedal. But I think for most cases it should be good.
Question.. what if I’m sleep or sitting down somewhere and someone takes my key fob and unlocks the car from the fob with killbyfob enabled.. they can just start the car and drive away since the pin will be bypassed?
Currently available only as a beta firmware, it can only be found and downloaded directly from the ZPU software (may need to delete ZPU and redownload it)
To activate KillByFob, the TaZer needs to be plugged in. But once KillByFob is triggered, even if the TaZer is removed, the pedal would remained disabled. Which is why we like this feature so much
Hey brotha, I enabled the window up and down mode. I did a full reboot and 2 sleep cycle. I click unlock x6 times. It doesn’t work. I have 2023 Challenger Scat Pack
It’s one device - The Tazer. There are multiple Tazer’s for different vehicles. If you have a Charger/Challenger is the Tazer. If that vehicle is 2018 or newer you would also need the double bypass
Did you not watch the whole video? That's what KillPedalNow covers th-cam.com/video/nBb8uGz1Y2o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=z0EEGAn9oAESu8ZZ&t=192 The same for KillbyFob. If you lock the vehicle with KillbyFob and then the TaZer gets removed, the pedal remains disabled

In 2.6.0, it will just flash the hazards and you will hear an audible tick
You can add your concerns about the Pin Lock countdown here: www.zautomotive.com/suggestions/
I love this feature, but it messes with the intake temp gauge. Keeps setting it at -83 and bounces erratically. Other than that, it’s cool.
We've never heard anything like that happening, please email in so we could get more information on that - support@zautotech.com
How well will these features play with each other combined with a compustar T12, or T13?
Should be fine
Ok great I've just ordered your product just waiting on the tracking number. I'm very excited to use this product.
Hello, is there a Tazer product for 2023 Dodge Durango R/T ? I saw on the website that it will not work with Uconnect 5? Will there be a future Tazer for newer Durango’s
We will see, the Uconnect 5 has given us a ton of compatibility issues
So is the killbypedal and killbyfob in the 2.5.9 update?
yes, please see the description
@@zautomotive my bad. I’ve been going back and forth between here, update notes and the instruction manual on the website.
If the "keyfob missing" notification doesn't trigger then there is nothing telling the TaZer that the vehicle is being carjacked
@zautomotive and at that point, one should have a tracker on the car or a remote kill switch to kill the car from your phone, just in case
Have you figured out the problem of starting the car while the keys were outside the vehicle?@@zautomotive
After taking a closer look with our support staff, the car allowed us to turn the vehicle back on even without the key (and after entered the pin) because the vehicle was still in gear@@rbaroncpd
I updated my tazer today but I dnt see the option for Pin Lock do I have to un marry it 1st then reset all my setting back?
@@jhyfepro9811 no. Which Tazer?
My only wish is that when you show the options like setting pin, turning off pin, KillbyFob selection, is that you tell us: "With the car running you do this, or with the car in the run position, you do this." That would be very helpful for me and I am sure others as well.
All of these are live features, therefore the vehicle is on with the ignition running...
I have a piece of Taser that I bought from a website and it does not work with me. I have a Charger 2021
You have a piece of a TaZer?
Question here. For the 2011-2014 cars with the 5 speed auto Will pinlock be able to tell if someone has pressed the shift lock button and activate the pin lock? It is much easier to do it on those cars with that transmission. Thanks!
Where can I get that shift knob that the challenger has?? 😍😍
I have the Burnbox Hellcat. Any chance of adding the PIN security features to that?
Sorry it’s a TaZer exclusive feature
The only concern is that is seems to disable remote. Other than that, it's great.
That’s a known bug in the 2.5.9 beta firmware. New firmware to correct that should be out soon
Can't wait to order mine soon
Any chance for this coming to other platforms? Cadillac CTS-V?
Most likely not. We’re a very small company and have our hands full with the Mopar vehicles
I just bought and updated my Tazer to the latest Uodate 2.5.9
Does this update include the windows up and down feature or do I have to download all the firmware individually?
It has everything, please email support if the windows feature isn’t working. Doesn’t work on all models - email support@zautotech.com
Does the Tazer work in conjunction with the Car Lock device?
Yes
Would I be able to use say a compustar fob instead of my OEM Durango key fob with these new features? Specifically the kill by fob?
No, it’s programmed for the OEM key
I'm not sure if this has been covered but how does this interact with remote start? I'm in the midwest it gets cold here.
The newer updates 2.6.0 and above, it works fine. Countdown starts once you get in the vehicle
I wish y’all would have come out with this before my Hellcat got stolen at last years hot rod power tour. I had a Tazer Burnbox on it.
Sorry to say, but the Burnbox wasn’t going to be getting this update anyway; it’s exclusive to the TaZer
@@zautomotive it really should since Hellcats are some of the more popular ones getting stolen.

Pin brakes on question !
Will the breaks still remain on if the pull lever under coin storage is pulled ?
The neutral strap?
@@zautomotive thats right !
Reason why I’m asking because my car was stolen last week and they just put it in neutral and pushed it away with another vehicle.
@@mankamalchana4956 that’s awful. We have nothing in place that can stop that or being taken from by a tow truck. Even with pin lock, the vehicle can still be put into gear.

If I have pin breaks enable, & kill by fob enable, are the breaks pinned when the car is locked?
@@yvngbixxqikk8808 those are two different things. Killbyfob disables the gas pedal; pin brakes locks the brakes if/when Pin Lock is triggered and the vehicle is running
This New feature works on Jeeps Grand Cherokee 2022?
Yes
Can you still remote start and still have the bricked pedal?
Remote starting would unlock the pedal
There’s a question is kind of baffling me, so the taser needs to be plugged in always in order to use the pin ?
Yes, but as mentioned in the video you can use the KillPedalNow feature and then remove the Tazer and the pedal will remain disabled
Hello this works for my durango srt 2023
@@luszczek85 yes
@@zautomotive thanks I just ordered it
Hi, I have one more question. If I install it, what will happen to my car warranty?
So if I use remote start, will that trigger the countdown for pin lock or only when I go from remote start to actually starting the car, will that trigger pin lock
no
So you can still remote start with all this stuff on?@zautomotive
Is this available for the jeep JL as well as the double bypass
No double bypass for the JL since the JL uses the security gateway module. Pin Lock is available but only the base feature of locking up the brakes
In other words, it adds like double protection with pin lock set and killbyfob used simultaneously, the way I see it
@@JR-pb5dz indeed. Thanks for the questions
On a manual transmission will pin lock activate once the car is put in gear like an automatic or does the countdown have to hit zero before the pedal goes dead and brakes lock up?
Any problem using this with manual trans?
Hey question - I’m have an rt and I did the trunk installation of the tazer. Everything works except my srt pages l. I still have default screen. I’ve did reboots and sleep cycles but the srt pages won’t come up
Email support, there are certain specifications- support@zautotech.com
Big Question Involving Pin Lock with "Kill by Fob". My understanding is that "Kill by Fob" does two things at the same time when Pin is enabled:
1 - It prevents theft by copying Fob signal to foreign fobs
2 - The function allows you to bypass the pin when using the same fob that locked it.
Can you kill the brakes and the gas pedal every time you lock your car ? If they don’t start it and try to push the car
You can kill the pedal every time you lock your car, but the brakes will only lock when the vehicle is running and the Tazer plugged in
Is the anti theft available for the Ram 2500 power wagon?
Sorry these features are not yet available on the TaZer RAM modules
Does Killbyfob work with manual transmission vehicles, or is it solely for automatic transmission cars?
Manual too
Will u be adding this to the DS Ram Tazer?
Yes it will be coming to the TaZer RAM. The TaZer RAM is often last to get the updates being that we do not have a DS RAM of our own to test on... but it will coming eventually

Another question. With the pedal being bricked. Would this help degend against ond2 and can bus attacks? Like is it only easily removed by your tazer.

To use the kill by fob feature does the Tazer need to stay in the car, or can it be removed when we exit the car and the feature still work?
To activate KillByFob, the TaZer needs to be plugged in. But once KillByFob is triggered, even if the TaZer is removed, the pedal would remained disabled. Which is why we like this feature so much

Is Pin Lock available for Tazer RAM yet?
No not yet, the TaZer RAM gets the last of the updates because we don't have a DS Ram of our own to do testing on
So which one do I order? I kinda got confused a little
It’s one device - The Tazer.
There are multiple Tazer’s for different vehicles. If you have a Charger/Challenger is the Tazer. If that vehicle is 2018 or newer you would also need the double bypass
@@zautomotive thank you for tha clarification
