AMAZING!! Multi material baking WITH decals! I just created an asset with materials using the new smart modules, added decals, baked it and imported it into Unreal. Looks fantastic!
That's amazing! I'm currently working on a new way to bake the decals that will speed up the process. Currently each decal adds time to the bake, the new system will combine them all in just one process.. so when baking 10 decals the time will be reduced 10x. There's also an option being developed to ADD the normals of the object to the decal in the bake process (optional) to make it look like the surface is also deforming it, like it was really placed in the surface or painted. Thanks for sharing!
You have made one of the best addons for Blender. The material editor , also the new baking options and decal application. Seriously thank you so much!
Just Amazing!!! With Every Update You Add Soooo Much New and Usefull Quality of Life Features!!! Thanks Sooooooo Much Sanctus for Your Great Creative Work!!! 👍😁
Feature length tutorial updates with a plethora of additions. It doesn't get any better. You've received my thanks recently so I shall try not to sound like a broken record. However, I cannot overstate how thankful I am for your add-on. I audibly giggle when I discover a feature that was unknown to me. I cannot comprehend the logic it takes behind the scenes but I am extremely grateful. I aspire to have the knowledge needed to make add ons such as this and you grant that opportunity. You don't just give us the tools, you teach us how to use them. The whole basis of your work encourages creativity and discovery. The new shader layer is a godsend. I was using overlays with manual mapping and desired a way to have it procedural. Little did I know Sanctus was hard at work making our dreams a reality. The praise is well justified. I'd love a donation link if you have one. I'm a big believer in one-time payment models (thank you for that!) but there is no harm in supporting someone who deserves it.
This is the real reward to my work, of course I value being able to make a living out of it, but seeing others get excited and inspired with my work and knowing it helps a theirs to be a little easier is priceless. Sharing your experience and interacting with my content is already a great way to support my work. I do have a patreon account to help a bit with the updates starting with $1 monthly, everything helps. I don't really promote it but it is there in case someone want to help with a bit of support. I really appreciate your comment, thank you very much!
As someone new to blender i had no idea what to do about having access to a good texture library and tried Sanctus and have been thrilled about it and how much better it got so fast. Looking forward to discover what might work with the new evee since i have been using that for animation. Truly fantastic work on this addon.
I have been using Sanctus in some way on all of my projects and it is still the best add on I own. Every update is better than the last but this one is over the top!
its amazing Sanctus, thanks for don´t let it ´´die´´ such a great library. some tools you added are like one year ago i needed to spent half an hour to apply/create the nodes system and now with your library its one click beyond...thank you!
The finale was so substantial I had to watch twice. I am evaluating what I may no longer need. This whole video I kept thinking “Not first. Best.” (Edited punctuation. lol)

another amazing update, thank you again for the incredible work that continues to be put into this add-on! this might be a silly question but I'm wondering if there's still a way to bake the decals separately, like in the previous version?
Hi robert, thank you very much. There's still a few changes that I will make to the baking system. But yes, actually you can. Create new Empty Maps for all the maps you want for your decals, check the bake decals box and don't add any socket for the material, then click the bake button. There will be no alpha channel to make the mix but that's one of the things I'm working on...
Hello, thanks for the update! I would like to ask if there will ever be an update to the decals so that they can be adjusted to normals, for example, so that it would seem that graffiti is painted on a brick?
It's something to think about. The "problem" initially is that the decals are dynamic.. so when you move them there's not really a way to read the target normal to use it in the decal. The one thing that is planned is that you can do this when you bake them.. you will have the option to ADD the normals of the material and the addon instead of just replacing them. Another thing you could do right now as a temporary solution is to bake the decals but also bake a normal map from the original material without decals.. then use the combined maps for the color, roughness and metallic, but use the original normal map for the normal. The decal will then use that and look like it's painted in the surface.
Is it possible to bake materials from the Sanctus Library to use in conjunction with the Smart Materials? When I right click on one of those materials the option to bake seems to be greyed out.
@@SanctusArt Thank you very much for taking the time to answer. Yeah I noticed that some materials from the Library have the Albedo/ R/M/ Normal output while others don't. The addon is amazing btw, all the best!
Hi, it will be easier to help you if you join Discord. If you have the last version of Sanctus Library (v3.1) the Asphalt material has parameters for direction and width of the lines
Is it possible to have the water react to particles that collide with it? Example, a stream of water particles would create foam on the water surface....
Just got recommended your channel. TH-cam gods shine upon you and myself 😂 gonna buy it now. Looks amazing. Question. Ive watched other version release videos and see you have a wooden floor generator with full mesh and not displacement in v3.0. Does it have a brick and stone generator that works the same way, as with the brick textures at the start of 3.0 video (damage mortar cracks etc) but for full mesh creation. Hope that makes sense. Thanks
Hey, thank you very much. It is planned, I have a ceramic tiles floor in progress with the same concept and I will probably add more. Bricks for walls? What kind of stone? like tiles?
@@SanctusArt ah great news. Yeah medieval type stone/brick walls and floors with wear and tear, scratches and plaster layers. There are a few add-ons that do damage edging, but not the surface itself which means I still need to hand sculpt paint the texture and scratches of the stone/wood/brick in ZBrush or blender using IMM and would like to automate that more procedurally for 3d prints. Based on what I see from the quality of your textures, if the displacement could be transfered as mesh, it would be next level.
might be the best addon I have, which is saying something. Have you considered a tattoo feature? I'm using decals to apply them, but it would be great to have something designed for the purpose.
There are discussions on an alternative to Decals to add different things, like stains, damage, details, etc... could be in the same direction. But not in the short term. Thank you
This addon is on a hole another level compared to any other blender addon , defintly a well put togheter and organised. Its so professional and easy to use/tweak im not sure if this is even legal ??? 🤔

@@SanctusArt Many thanks for your reply and continued fantastic support of this extension. Very intuitive and I can tell this tool can grow in function with experience.
Everything has a reason.. the problem with that is that you will make the material not compatible with blender 4.0 that a lot of people still use it. The addon would have to be listed as only compatible with blender 4.1 and 4.2. So you are forced to work with the oldest version of Blender that your addon supports.
