    This is genuinely unbelievable. I have seen a lot of asset libraries out there, but very few I have considered purchasing. There are so many great QOL decisions here, fantastic detail on display, a versatile spread of textures without anything being too specific to never use. This may very well be my favorite asset library out there. Stunning work.

    I, an admitted Blender noob, just bought the library and my first impressions are very good but not quite great--only because I frequently find the library fairly difficult to use, which I'm sure is mostly due to my noobness. My biggest problem is textured materials looking flat or just painted, e.g. leather, cardboard, etc. (No problem with the bricks, though, so I know great things are possible.) I've tried a huge range of scales, played with bump and displacement settings (as suggested in videos), and even read the online docs (which must be a first!), all with more frustration than success. I just wish all libraries, not just Sanctus, came with sample files, which could greatly reduce the learning curve and demonstrate how to get the most out of the materials. Some explanation in the docs of what parameter values mean (e.g a displacement value of 1.3) would be very helpful, too. Without any units, it's impossible to know how to relate the numbers to anything meaningful like the overall scale of a model.

I found some references to one but I couldn't found a link to download it. Or is the demo scene elsewhere? I couldn't find it on Blender Market or the linked Sanctus website either.

      @@rbrown2925 the link is the same you use to download the addon. Along with the addon zip file there are other files, the asset browser version and the SL_Demo_Scene.blend on both stores (gumroad and Blender Market)

      @@SanctusArt Thank you very much! I found the files and learned something important in the process. The file links were under "Go to Downloads" in my Orders on BM but that's not how I downloaded the libraries, which is the source of all the confusion. I used the links that were provided in the "Your Receipt" email that i received from BM. The email only contained 3 links, which were for the Asset Browser v2.2, the Library v2.2, and the "Important Info Getting Started" text file. So, not only did the email exclude the demo scene link, it didn't include the 2.3 versions of the Library and Asset Browser, which I found on the "Go to Downloads" page. Looks like I need to check all my other libraries now as I've been using the links in the BM receipt emails.🙄 Thanks again!

    Once Principled V2 comes along you'll have to convert all of these materials? Great toolset.

      Generally when new nodes come out blender replaces the old one with a working version of the new one but yes I will probably have to adjust a lot of materials. It will also open new possibilities 👍

      It's possible, but it would require a little explanation. It may be easier in Discord if you want to join.
      If you want to replace it, it would be something like this: i.imgur.com/KBv6OA2.png
      You could also bake the outputs and use your normal instead. If what you want is to combine the normals, there's a group node in the shader tools (utils category) called "Combine Normals" that you can use: i.imgur.com/V3danfS.png
      You could also bake these 4 outputs and basically get a PBR material with the combined normals: i.imgur.com/jurztFW.png

    Got the Addon, thanks! A Q: I have a Alienware x17 R2 64RAM 4T, but still the rendering takes time on simple meshes. And my Cycles view is very slow, some suggestions about it?

    So ... I have a fresh install on Blender 4.0.1 - following along round about 6:52 the right-click context menu is not showing the Sanctus item at the bottom. Anyone seen this? Know where I may have gone wrong?

      Hey thanks. you just have to download the new version and install it as you did the first time. On Blender Market you access your products on the Orders option of the menu and in Gumroad it's the Library option

      Creo que venía muy bien el bake, abre muchas puertas como usar los materiales en otros programas como Unity o Unreal Engine, hacer escenas mas complejas sin que pese mucho y todo eso. Muchas gracias!

    I have just bought your library and this vid is very nice overview...one thing not clear to me how Asset version differ and if they work separately (install to b3d just one or another) or both at once... thx!! It just rocks!

    I really love this addon, great looking materials. I was wondering if there was a way to bake UDIMs too with the baking addon? I use some smart materials on a rigged character and now the scratches on the surface don't stick to the character. So I wanted to bake it down to textures but It always bakes only the first UDIM tile. Is there a solution to this? Thx!

    Hello there, I recently purchased your materials, and carefully followed your tutorials- But when I bake the materials then add the baked image files with node wrangler, the material are either completely black, or with spots of black? Why is this? I am using 3.5. Thank you for your time.

I think I figured out what the problem was- I was using a Damage add on, so where the damage was made was making that area go black? I'm not sure why that is, but it's no problem. I can work around that. Thank you so much! I love the textures 🙌

      @Startech333 I will guess that where the damage addon alters the mesh also removes the UV map and that will cause the black baking for the materials that use UVs . Best, Sanctus

    while try to bake material only BSDF vector shows in Principal BSDF. all other vector like Displacement, colour bake, roughness bake and hight bake are not showing. What to do ? How to bake ?

    Does baking work with Uvs? So lets say i have a more complex object but everything looks correct because of the procedual shader but for performance i want that specific shader baked in textures. But can i apply that for the Objectss current UVs or will it be just flat rect projected?

      It bakes using UVs so you will have the same outcome but in texture images instead (limited resolution of course depending on the baking resolution).

      Yes you can assign materials to different faces of one object as you would do with any material.

    hey I purchased your package and I am having issues exporting the GLTF/GLB. Ill admit im quite new to blender and im probably missing somthing but the models are coming out smooth with zero texture. The are showing up on the model before I save / export it.. Any ideas?

    There are 3 downloads when I bought through blender market.
    Sanctus-Library_v2.0.2.zip,
    Sanctus-Library_v2.00.1.zip,
    and Sanctus-Library_Asset_Browser_v2.0.2.zip.
    Which one should I install into blender for the most usage, is the library asset browser zip a different thing all-together?

      Hi, the Sanctus-Library_v2.02.zip is the last version of the addon, the 2.00.1 is there just as a backup if something is now working for you when you update it. The asset browser version is another way to use the materials if you don't want the addon. It's a new thing in Blender, you can see how to install that version here on the last part of this page: www.manula.com/manuals/sanctus-library/sanctus-library/main/en/topic/installation

    I don't know why, But I am having massive problems with this material collection. Either the performance is so terrible that it's absolutely not usable or it completely crashes my GPU driver (or sometimes even the whole PC). I have absolutely no idea what is going on but I'd love to find it out so I can actually use the collection. I have already bumped up the driver timeout reset in my windows registry, lowered my Cycles viewport samples to 64, tried the most basic of scenes (just a cube or a grid with a bit of subD, one sanctus material and one blender preview hdri) and also trying both CUDA and OPTIX. My machine is decent, RTX3080, Threadripper 2950X and 64gigs Ram and I do not have any other problems with other heavy scenes or GPU demanding stuff. I am on newest Win11 and Blender 3.6 LTS. Any ideas?

      Hi, are you having this problem using cycles and gpu compute? Or maybe you are using eevee?

      I see you commented cycles now.. I use a 3070, and I have no issues at all. You should have even better performance. I'm just checking the basics because I don't know how much experience you have. Are you using material preview? Or rendered view? Because even when you have cycles selected as your render engine, if you use the material preview, blender will use eevee, and that will slow your viewport to unusable levels

      @@SanctusArt Thanks for the reply. Yeah it's really weird and I don't know what could be the problem. I'm also well aware that material preview uses Eevee. I'm talking exclusively about cycles though. I believe on blendermarket it says it's compatible with blender 3.5. I'm running 3.6 but rarely have any problems with addons that aren't officially supporting the newest blender versions. Thank you for the offer of refunding, I'd rather find out what's going on though instead of not using the library. Have a project coming up where some procedural materials would come in very handy.       @@SanctusArt This problem should only appear on the 2.00.2 version, when the plugin shows 2.0.2 but it doesn't seem to be really 2.0.2.
      The problem was gone when I updated to 2.0.2 which was released yesterday.

    Hi, I have upgraded to Sanctus Library version 2.2 but I don't see new materials ( no wood, no geometry nodes assets etc.), I am using Blender 3.2. Do I need to switch to B3.3 in order to have access to all SL materials and assets or something went wrong?

      The best Blender version is always the last release. In this case 3.6 will work with all assets and materials. Decals and GN Tools are Blender 3.5+ and Materials Blender 3.0+

    Hi, I've never installed an addon, if I install your addon, and you add more materials, to be able to use them, do I have to update the addon or something? and if i have to do this, how can i do it?

      You will find on the store you purchase the addon a new version every time I update and you repeat the process, uninstall the old one and install the new one.

      No, there's the addon file, an asset browser version for the ones that don't want to install the addon and sometimes the previous versions in case someone has a problem with the new version.

    This is confusing, from min 5-6 you do everything backwards, turning off things showing how to deactivate things, and you need to say so if cycles experimental is needed, by default it is completely flat, tell me how to proceed from there, displacement is set to displacement only by default, and you add subdivision because there is not enough detail? And I dont know the difference btw bump and displacement, I managed to make it 3d but it looks cartoonish still doesnt look like the thumbnail.

      i suggest investing sometime learning about materials and shading in vanilla blender before using too many material packs, as you stuggle to understand the basics and cant utilize the addon 100%
