Serious project. Amazon is one of the most beautiful cars ever made, especially the estate version. Very tasteful mish mash of parts, when you build an old car from scratch, it is preferred to use parts from the same brand, thou when building restomod like this, you have to have all the performance stuff also. So; dampers from Öhlins, Zetrab engine cooler, Brembo brakes and so on. I really did like the choice of seats, Recaro ergo are truly absolutely first class. Looking forward to see end result, You, Sir, are a true professional.
my dad showed me some pictures of the notch the other day and it is nice to see how similar it is to how it was back all the way back then. have to find time to see it in person again soon, last time i saw it i was just a child :)
I get that it is a good idea to use the transmission tunnel from the gearbox donor vehicle for fitment and clearance, but do you know if it has caused any fitment issues with planning the engine mounts, or was this the case of a lucky accident of them lining up in a perfect location? Also, what a considerate person your dad is, by giving the passenger a turbo charged feet warmer!
@@Askorbiini all the mounts are already in, engine and trans has been in and out a few times. i’m not sure if there were any issues getting that done but the engine is also positioned a bit further down and in than normal ✌️
I'm not sure about that power steering set up he is using but I know some units can be pretty loud and people tend to run the pumps outside of the cabin and in some cases even enclose them.
Cant beat a good Volvo. I have had a few in the past - not this old though. I gave a 440 GLT to a friend as they had no car and needed one - then some uninsured idiot ran into it and wrote it off. I loved that car.
