I want Guy to meet up with the lad in Sweden that is building the Volvorghini
It is stated that if You participate in a folkrace you have to sell your car after the race if anyone wants to buy it. It is a fixed, low, price ( i think it is around 600 pounds) and thats just so no one builds a monster to win every race. The aim is that every one should afford to race and the skill behind the wheel should be what matters.
The fixed price is 8000 SEK ~730 EUR ~620 BGP.
ANYONE (randomly selected) 15 years or older, including Guy, are allowed to buy ANY car that has participated in a race day.
ALL partcipants, including Guy, are OBLIGED to sell their cars after a race day, if ANYONE (over 15) is willing to pay the 730 EUR.
(Edit: Apparently you are allowed buy our own car IF you happen to be randomly selected as a buyer for your own car.)

I confess. I love Volvos. I've had 4, almost 20 years of ownership. My fave was a 240GLT manual saloon. I wish I still had it.
Ive had my "04 Volvo S60R( manual trans) since "05. Ive done a few upgrades over the years.Only 122k miles on the clock. Probably the best car Ill ever own!

I went through 4 Volvo 240 as a kid loved them, crashed one at 70kmh into a wall and we all hoped out no problems had a 740 and thought it would be smart to put 10 bottles of octane booster in it, ended up having to take of the heads in the rain and take them to a machine shop, got some funny looks from the bus driver but aye when your young and dumb, long live the Volvo!!
What happened to the head? Warped cuz of heat or blown the gasket?

Love the old Volvo Guy has when you think 800 H P , no wonder it keeps blowing up , but style wise love it , watched his first ( Guy Garage ) and can't wait for the next episode, incidentally I drive a Volvo estate had it over six years and love the look of them I've done over sixty thousand miles in it but in total it's done 146000 and it's still as smooth as ever and very reliable its only a modest 1.6 Diesel eco but I've towed a trailer with motorbikes on it for my son to track days to Mallory park and Anglesey did the job I would like the bigger one though , love estates.

I’ve got a great folkrace track a couple of hundred meter from my house where they have ”folkrace festival” the biggest folkrace competition in the country
Love my Volvo’s I have 850r and V70 T5
Love Volvos as well and this put a right smile on my dial! Cant wait to see Guy in “svensk folkerace”, proper with the classic 245 - lighter than the 700/900 but still a tank

I owned a VOLVO 240 saloon, a very nice, comfortable, reliable, and safe car to drive, and very easy to service and repair.....
Mate of mine has a concourse 164 mint I love Sweden the country the folks the lot ,snow no problem not like here these folks know how to handle it mainly sideways 👍👨🏻🏭
Guy should come to Gothenburg and visit the Volvo museum(And the Volvo factories of course) before it's taken down.Saab museum is only a 1 hour drive away from the Volvo museum btw.

The two Volvos Guy has are awesome...especially the old one, but I'm kind of surprised he doesn't also have a P1800. That's the one I always admired even back when I was a kid. I especially like the station wagon (estate) version. Maybe called the P1800 ES? I can't remember.
They remind me of Jensons untill I found out they were designed by Jenson now I'm not so sure. The E stands for estate and the S stands for Sweden
@@666t P1800 was designed by Pelle Pettersson, a Swedish (mostly) boat designer. P1800 where manufactured by Jensen in the UK in the beginning due to lack of capacity at the swedish facilities. Later they moved all production to Sweden, partly because of quality issues.

i have to admit i do love my v50 t5 manual. its coming up for 14 years old, and as i do trips abroad i'll probably have to move it on in a couple of years as its tricky to get breakdown cover once a car goes over 16... no idea what to replace it with, i love that it is such an unassuming car, but has a decent kick when you poke it... there arnt many petrolheads that dont like a rapid volvo

Tried to watch guys garage on sky go but the channel 4 programmes don't work properly on there. Watched until the 1st adverts, then there's 4 minutes of adverts which takes at least 10 minutes to get through as the adverts don't load properly. I've had this problem everytime I try and watch channel 4 on sky go
My very first....usable car was a 80 something Volvo which was my dad's really but he would let me use and customize however I wanted and growing up in the US in the early 90's meant whatever it was, it was slammed to the ground and had either Five Stars or the European BBS', my silver Volvo with Silver BBS' could drag a pack of Newports instead of going over it. Is it stupid now, yes, but at the time we would roll that bitch like it was a '50 Merc lead sled or Bentley. OMG the memories in that car, I just pray my son NEVER hears a single one 🙏

What language is it?
In translation you would say "peoplesracing". All made as cheap as possible so anyone can effort it. This by simple rools. If anyone want to buy the car after the race, you have to sell. The price is fixed, and you only allowed to keep your personal equippement like belts and seat. This keep the price down and the cars at least somewhat equal made.
