It looks like a wholesome snack/lunch, but I haven't a clue what that Japanese seasoning is or what is in that bottle that sounds like SIRACHIO? In my limited kitchen I will have a Sweet Chilli sauce, a Teriyaki sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Ketchup and a lot of different powered Herbs & Spices so I could substitute to taste. Do you use a Rice steamer to cook your Rice? I'm fairly useless as a Rice cook so usually elect to buy simple boil in the bag versions. 🤦♂️
There's no shame in the boil in a bag version of rice! God knows I've used it for years until I figured out how to finally make rice - a skill that many Cajuns I thought were born with! I cook my rice on the stove top, I've not had much luck with rice steamer for some reason, which most of my family thinks is odd. I cook 1 cup of rice (white rice, rinsed well and set aside), with 1 3/4 cups water or stock, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon coconut vinegar (or white vinegar if you cannot find coconut), and 1/2 teaspoon sugar. I bring liquid to a boil, but taste the water as it is warmed and the sugar and salt have dissolved and adjust seasoning accordingly with more salt or sugar as preferred. Once the water is boiling, I add 1 tablespoon olive oil, stir, and add the rinsed rice. Stir again and cover. Immediately reduce the heat to low and let cook undisturbed for 20 minutes, until all of the liquid is absorbed. The oil helps to keep the grains of rice from sticking, and this I find gives me a preferred texture : ) Sriracha is a Korean spicy pepper sauce. I will eventually make a video on how to make it, but the peppers give off such fumes that it has to be done outside. That might be in your wheelhouse if you do a lot of outdoor cooking! Sweet chili sauce and teriyaki are wonderful flavors to substitute, though they are sweeter than sriracha. If you like the spice, crushed red pepper flakes are a wonderful addition. 😄
