This really is the best book! I read it a few years ago and it’s truly life changing….I still use the strategies today when my thoughts get sticky.
Understanding why my thoughts get stuck and changing my relationship with them was really important for me too.
Looking forward to part 2 🥰

I felt relief for like a week and then slipped back into old thinking. I read somewhere that traditional cbt in person therapy takes 6 months to wire in real change. For those that read this book, would you reread it weekly for several months to glue it into your brain?

Grew up in a religion that says thinking is the same as doing. So yeah. I had a very unhealthy relationship with my thoughts. Therapy. Therapy. Therapy.

I'm from Brazil and I heard a podcast from a lady here in my country. She mentioned this book and I decided to come here and see it. I'm going to buy it because since 2022 I've had intrusive thoughts of violent acts towards my wife and it's horrible because it creates anxiety in me, I get tired, I can't concentrate on other things.
I'm usually sad about it and sometimes I can stop thinking, but there are days when it gets really bad to the point where my eyes burn and I feel really tired and stressed and trying to stop thinking.
I underwent some therapies, 3 in total, but none of the psychoanalysts knew how to treat this. The little I'm learning to deal with is TH-cam videos from professionals from other places.
I hope to learn to deal with this and win because it is agonizing and very tiring.

I appreciate the resource, thank you.
However, Ken. Please allow Sally to finish her thoughts. There were many times in this video where you upright stopped her mid thought.
