    Picked mine up on December 30th, 2023, in South Jersey at Msrp. Took me a year to get msrp. I'm going to use mine like you're doing.
    Just ordered 18" wheels & extreme contacts . I went white on color. The fuel mileage is awesome.

    Just bought an FL5 myself and so far loving every second of it. Super nice to see someone who's broken that 10k mile mark and hear your input on the car after owning it for that period of time!

    Awesome video brother!! I enjoy the content always!! I traded my fk8 in January for my fL5! I bought my fk8 new in 2019! I was fortunately to have a long relationship with my local dealership and they gave me it for msrp on my fl5 along with every other car I have bought from them dating back 15 ish years ago!! I got really sick and was life flighted to a hospital right after I got my fl5 earlier this year! Now after 7-8 months I just crossed over 2000 miles so it hasn’t been driven a ton because my health is been making it hard to get out much!! But driving is therapeutic for me!! Prior to the FK8 and FL5 I owned 4 different generations and mid model upgrade civic Si’s!! I bought my first Civic Si new in 2009, I then traded that and bought a new 2012 Si! After that In 2014 I bought and traded my 12’ towards my 14’ Si new! Then in 2017 I bought a new 2017 Si!! Later I bought my 2019 fk8 and now I own my FL5! Over the years my same local dealership has taken great care of me and I have been a Honda fan because I have never had any real issues with any of my Si’s or my FK8 and FL5! Keep up the great content brother!! I always get stoked when you post a new video! Have a great day!

    I would not even consider a $6,800 markup. When I inquired about this car, I was quoted a $15,000 markup. The Acura dealer quoted me MSRP for the Integra Type S. I ordered one but it hasn't arrived yet.

      Sick that you got a ITS at msrp, congrats! Curious to see how they hold value compared to the type R. I haven’t gotten to see one in person yet

    I went with the 10th Gen Accord 2.0t, I need an actual backseat that an adult sit in and be comfortable. The K20C is an amazing engine. I can get 34MPG on the interstate, yet still be very quick when you get into it. Maybe someday these FL5's will actually be MSRP, then I will grab one up.

  • @626KiDD

    It's very difficult to get one of these at sticker price, especially in Southern California where it's nearly impossible to get one at sticker and it's the same with the Integra Type S. Also, interest rate is ridiculously high, which put off many people in buying a car (unless you're buying an American made EVs). It's people with lots of disposable income are able to obtain these cars. The days of affordable fun new cars are going away and it's a damn shame too. The release of the FK8 is exactly like this too when dealerships were in the frenzy with mark ups nation wide. I don't wanna sound like a downer, but that's just how it is, unless, people vote with their wallets or corporate steps in (either is unlikely).

  • @kjwong4730
    @kjwong4730 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    It’s a good fun car, I just would never pay a mark up for it. But it definitely will hold value you’re right about that. Maybe in a few yrs I’ll look into getting a used one

    • @jdmanreviews9383

      normally dealership will do this calculation msrp + packages + mark up (then do your best to waive or reduce) 5k or less I think it’s okay coz this is 100% manufactured by Honda. advantage of new is longer warranty, more options especially you can go for the Lease term if you have a good credit. the purchase it after the lease term.

    Thanks for making the video! You can improve the ride comfort further by using a higher profile tire such as a 40. The stock tire profile of 30 is quite low and not well suited for the street, but great for track. Would you happen to have a link or a name of your phone mount?

  • @Slowcarfastbeans
    @Slowcarfastbeans ปีที่แล้ว

    Real time tyre pressure reading is only good for confirming when tyres are warm. I check the pressures before session and monitor shoulder usage coming back in and evaluate turn in on worst-case high speed and worst-case low-speed turns.

    • @BuyYourBuild
      @BuyYourBuild  ปีที่แล้ว

      Didnt think of it like that! I have a nice tire pressure gauge to check pre/post session temps now

    • @dw214
      @dw214 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wrong
      I run an aftermarket external TPMS because on my last track day excess rubber caught between the rim and the tyre and broke the seal which caused a leak.
      TPMS alerts you in real-time if you got a puncture or active leak which allows you to pull over safely and keep in control of the situation , knowing what tyre is playing up is life saving especially if you are on the freeway.
      I recommend anyone that has the FL5 to get one and a tyre repair kit and learn how to plug it in an emergency, we don't got a spare tyre so the onus is on you to ensure the safety of yourself and your passengers.

    Crazy this type of car and caliber doesn't have a TPMS! I figured I just couldn't find it yet in the menus lol. I'm at 3k and debating on a 1st oil change. I've read on forums that people say you're supposed to wait for the system to tell you when it needs one because the factory oil has additives that need time to coat all the components. The system shows oil life still at 60% right now. Do you change it more frequently because of track days? Do you go with the OW-20 full synthetic? Do the premium oil brands make a difference? Great review!

      @@SlowcarfastbeansNot worth having both. They're too similar and cost too much. Instead, have a specific track car line a 718 Cayman, Emira, C8 or something and a Prius, Model 3 or whatever utility car to commute and throw miles on. Same total cost, but a lot higher performance and utility. I see a few with a GT3 and the CTR or ITS for those who need and can afford the daily performance (though almost any EV out performs for daily). These cars are really best served as a dual purpose single car garage.

    Great video man it's definitely a beautiful machine and I hope it lasts you as long as you need it to. But to be real with you paying any mark ups is definitely an L. Sure, it was a lower mark up, but that's nothing to brag about and sounds like an excuse. We don't wanna give these stealerships the wrong message. It's your money tho so it sounds like for you it was well spent. Drive safe!

    • @BuyYourBuild
      @BuyYourBuild  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Appreciate the kind words but I wasn’t bragging about the markup I paid. I had no other car to drive and any new model is going to have markup, even new base model Hondas. Let’s be realistic, if I didn’t pay it someone gladly would. If I had waited until today I still wouldn’t have found one at MSRP at any of the 30 dealers I called. Also markup doesn’t matter when pre-owned resale value is consistently 5k over MSRP.
      Paying any markup is definitely not an L. MSRP is a “suggested” retail price. If you were offered a GT4RS at $20k over MSRP when they resell for $50k+ over you wouldn’t do it? I sure as hell would.

    Good car ! But with all the respect the car looks like that needs more power, feels average minus when flooring it
    Enjoy 👍

      For a stock tune it's got plenty of torque and power. Add too much power and it overheats way more quickly on the track

    Just my opinion but paying anything over MSRP is a bad deal no matter what the car is.

      Depends from what angle you speak from. If you pay 5k over and someone wants to pay you 12k over pre-owned, is it a bad deal for YOU?

    Insurance is a real bummah. I pay just as much for a 2018 Camaro ZL1 which has a 50% higher present value.

    Das Cockpit hat sich sehr deutlich verbessert . Die Qualität rein vom Fahrwerk , rein vom Motor , unwesentlich . Genau genommen braucht man es nicht erwähnen .
