Sometimes you will have lint built up inside the port that needs cleaned out. You can turn the phone off and use a toothpick to clean it out and that will help a lot. But if you have the round toothpick it is pretty much mandatory that you have to shave it down slightly so it fits. I use an exacto knife but a utility knife with a brand new blade will also work. There is some risk of damaging the contacts so be careful, I have not ruined a phone yet but I'm sure it is possible. Do not use anything metal! Another more risky operation that I did on mine because the port was unusable, I mixed up a small batch of JB weld clear epoxy, and took a toothpick and very carefully put a thin coat on a small area in the wall of the port. If you screw up and get the epoxy on the contacts your phone is done for, It will be ruined. I managed to do it on mine successfully and it tightened the port up and made my charger work again. You cannot coat the entire wall of the port You just put a little spot in there to tighten it up. Another thing that ruins the ports and sometimes even worse is using the cheap knockoff charging cords. The Anker brand is a very good quality cord and charging pack. I almost burned my phone up using a cheap knockoff cord and I'm not the only one this has happened to. I like the idea of taking it apart and fixing it correctly but my phone is glued together and it would be a high risk operation. It's the price you have to pay for a waterproof phone, but I have also dropped my $1,000 phone in the toilet and it did not ruin it. I did have to wait quite a while before I could charge it for the port to dry out.
Use the end of one of those disposable dental flossers, a lot of people have them. I've a y shaped one and the other end of it has sort of thin end covered in teeth that is literally designed for getting stuff out of a thin gap.
@@FallNorth Great idea I need to try this. With the wooden toothpicks there is some risk of a piece of the toothpick breaking off and getting stuck in there. I've had a piece break off in there but I was luckily able to get it out.
@@FallNorth I had to use a needle. I tried the dental floss thing. The stuff that I had in my Jack was way too jammed a plastic pic or a toothpick just wouldn't make it move. I had to like pry around the corners. Really hard to get like this piece of dried up dirt and glue out of there.
Recently, I went to a local shop to fix the charging port of my moto g6. They took about 2-3 days to fix it. We payed about 500Rs for that. After they fixed it, the phone was charging okay like when it was new. But now the phone isn't charging properly whenever we connect the cable.
same happened with me too i got my charging port of vivoy67 fixed it also worked fine after a couple of months and again the same issue happened like wthhhh
I find blue tac ( the putty like malleable rubber / plasticine like substance used for many things like sticking up posters etc) works fine. Just roll up a small ball and place it around near the port and use it to stabilise the charging connection . With loose ports it stops charging because it falls out or isn't secure so blue tack helps keep it in its place.
You get a like and comment because it helped me fix my Expensive WUBEN Flashlight which uses the same charger port. The trick for me was to veeeeryyyy gently crimp the MALE part of the charger. The part that plugs into the flashlight's port, so that it now makes full contact with all the charger's teeth I guess. Dunno the specifics thats just my hypothesis, but it charges reliably now.
Of course!!. Do they have some sort of wireless charger for portable on the go use ??. Because I might be travelling around and I often connect a portable charger.
Me too I think it's cause I use the phone will charging and it loosens the port. Do u do same thing. I'd suggest just let phone charge don't touch it . And be very gentle putting it in and out
Sometimes that works, but only if that's why your phone isn't charging. I tried that multiple times, I didn't have much dust come out, my issue was that the charging socket was too loose, And this video really helped me out.
I was going to say the same. My phone doesn't have screws either (like every high-end phone) so how do I bend the port without opening the case? I've obviously already bent it the wrong way by tweaking the cable and that's why it keeps falling out. Any ideas 💡??
@jamie hearne or they just have phones with screws. Its not hard to do if you have the tools to open the phone, and the know how. That's equally as easy because of TH-cam. However, if you have a warranty on your phone, or are making payments, it's best to take it to someone who has a warranty on their work so that way you're covered if something breaks. Brother...i have two Redmi Note 4 but one has complete broken screen and display prob..and the other im using recently now has charging problem seems like charging loose pin...Can i change the pcb(charging port )from my other note 4 broken display phone instead of buying a New Pcb port?..will it be ok if change it with old used pcb port taken out from old phone?..will there be any impact or problem with display or motherboard.?
No the biggest thing he did was crimp it tighter with the pliers to make sure it's a tight connection and not loose. You can't really do that while the back is on
@3:35 how do I change the charger port itself. I had the prongs inside the USB port snap in half then it broke off completely. The phone still turns on but the battery is dead. Is there a way to fix that or do I just have to get a new phone.
Can you buy a whole charging board itself for a phone? If so where. I have a xaomi pocofone f1 so I don't know if it's hard to find due to it being old and not too common

You've never kept rubbing alcohol in your house? I thought everyone did, along with hydrogen peroxide and q-tips. Pliers are one of the most common tools especially the needle nose. Anybody who has worn glasses their whole life most likely has those tiny screwdrivers. 🤷
Wrong method shown to plug and unplug. You pressed cable to left and right further widening the port. Its proper method is straight insert/unug with only as much force as needed. You are jogaaria

Nice video 👍🏻
Is it possible to change charging microusb port to type c on mobile ?
Yes it's possible
or do what i do , get a needle and pull the fluff out, done it lots of times, no need to disassemble
I though my port was loose until I got a new cable, then I realized it was just the connector on the cable.

what is permanent solution?to change the charging board? what are the other issues causing this problem?
When I outer the whole cable in isn't charging but when I put a litle bit is charging what can I do?
I saw someone whittle down a toothpick to clean the port. It worked. As my daddy said, never argue with success.
What If my phone doesn't have any screws that I can see?
Uh oh buddy

Seems to me you don't have to remove the port to clean it. All you did was used a toothbrush and alcohol to clean the dust out.

What did you say you clean with?
isopropyl alcohol

you could get yourself a can of air compressor and clean your charging port. It saved my phone and I didn't even need to open it up.
