    Thanks for the comparison. Modular for me, especially with the extra protection vs the essentially flush Capable.

    I went capable bumper for the fog lights and cleaner look. The less bolts to rust in the coast environment the better was my thinking. The extra money towards other mods didn't hurt either.

      I agree, don’t get me wrong I do like the modular bumper, however all things being equal the cost and the factory fog lights gives the capable bumper a slight edge for me

      @@DrivenWildOutdoors feel the same. As far as the fog lights It's possible to add your own in the outer openings of the modular bumper, but that's extra time and money. My ordered WildTrak is coming soon, I don't plan on getting any winch or additional lights on the bumper, instead over the windshield. I just don't feel the mod bumper is worth an additional $700. The capable bumper looks more than good and clean enough

    Here are the things I have noticed/liked
    1. Love the led fog-lights in the capable - I drive in snow/ice conditions a lot and when you do it all the time, foglights help you recognize road conditions better when you the sun has melted most of the snow, or driving up a mountain pass with temps dropping in variable precipitation/melting conditions
    2. The capable is powder coated and the modular is black. I think I like the powder coated, which does match the rear bumpers, but some might like the black much better
    3. I like that the modular bumper is 100% all steel, can take the ends off, and can hold a winch/brushguard better
    4. For me the biggest concern with the capable bumped after watching this video, is that it might not stick out enough? I know it is steel and attached to the frame, but worry hitting something with the capable bumper could do a lot more damage to the bronco because it sticks out so little? I think I am still going capable, but let me know if you guys think that might be a concern

    Thanks for the video! I have been wrestling with this decision myself. I ordered my Badlands with the modular bumper, but have been considering a change since it's one of the many constrained parts. I will start by saying I like the look of the modular bumper, but from a performance perspective, I think it's still the right choice for me, as I would like to add fog lights and a light bar (maybe on a nudge bar) to the bumper and the modular bumper has mounting points on it add that stuff; the capable bumper doesn't have any.

    Another important note for anyone setting up their Bronco for flat towing behind an RV, etc.: the modular bumper's tow points ARE set up to connect to a tow bar. Curt sells adapters to connect them directly to their tow bar, and I'm told Blue Ox does, or will very soon. It's pretty great to not have to make the front both ugly and less capable with a base plate. You'd have to have an eagle eye to know my BD with the modular bumper is set up for this!

  • @SGTMinguez
    @SGTMinguez 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The best part of the capable is the OEM foglight switch grouped with the headlights so you don't need to tie up AUX switches for foglights, and have them located overhead, which is not ideal for such frequently used items.
    Are the LED fogs an LED version of an H4 or 5202 or something similar that could be replaced with Diode Dynamics SL-Fs?

  • @tourproto

    thanks for the great video! I originally ordered the modular bumper with safari bar, but when I saw how constrained the safari bar and mod bumper was, I changed to the capable bumper. Didn't hurt that I am now getting factory fog lights with the wiring and switch, the latter two which are NOT included if you get the mod bumper (stupid IMHO). And I will never be rock crawling and need to take off the end caps of the mod bumper. After watching your vid, I am happy with my choice of the capable.

      Thanks, I was going to the same dilemma having ordered my WildTrak with capable bumper. I was having second thoughts about asking my dealer to switch bumpers. But after reading these comments I'm a lot more at ease about y original decision... Not having to pay an extra $700 for the mod also helped lol

    Nice overview. I had the modular bumper ordered on my Wildtrak, but when they made me redo my order for 2023, I dropped it. I like having fog lights already, and I know because they're factory there's a factory switch installed inside somewhere.

When I placed the order the modular was part of the package but I made a few changes and didn't realize the BD no longer came with the modular bumper.
