Good Video, but there are so many better oils out there than Motorcraft! i know Motorcraft oil is cheap but the engine is not!, i have been running Amsoil in my 2.7 Bronco with great results!

Hi Lake, big fan of yours. Hopefully you’ll have time to answer my question. Got a BMW 650i 2007. I moved to a very hot climate(30+ and often 40+) 4-5 months in a year, and rest above 20. It’s very hilly as well and I drive my car hard after I warm it up. Been using 5w40 and no issues apart from oil temps being around 110 degrees to 112 degrees. The oil in question is Liqui moly 5w40 leichtlauf high tech. Liqui moly state it’s ok until 138 degree oil temp and safe to drive, but I’ve been thinking is it worth switching to a 5w50 or 10w60 oil while I’m here? No 10w60 oil have the LL-01 that my engine requires. Thanks for your help in advance.

This was difficult to listen to.... bottom main area aluminum? Seriously? Cracked main caps for durability? Maybe if there's a flex issue... cam phasers are good? WTF do you know how many fords in maine get scrapped or parted because the phasers fail? Not worth it when you live in rust belt and need break lines, rockers, etc plus phasers. This engine might be great for 5 years.... then it's absolutely trash.

And for the record if you are getting your vehicle serviced at ford they are using synthetic blend not full synthetic

So much wrong in this video. Turbo engines burn up plug wires bahahaha. Belt driven oil pump doesn't matter, it sure a heck does

it would have been a great engine if they didn't put the wet belt Kevlar down the bottom crank case which clogs the oil pump when the kevlar starts wearing out. stay away from this engine... or Ford..

All I got out of this was: If the light comes on, it might be something, it might not. Go get it checked.

I guess I'm lucky on my 19 F 150 3.5 52k miles now OEM PCV tube was dry, no residue. Tried a JLT at about 40k out of curiosity. 2 oil changes about 7k and only had a film of oil in the can, not even enough to absorb with a towel. Scoped the intake runners, nice and shiny valves, slight discoloration. Pulled the can gave it to a friend with a higher mileage 2015 F 150. First oil change he had almost 1/4 can of liquid. So the cans definitely do work.

I’m thinking of buying a 2022 2.3L ford ranger XL with only 4800 miles on it I was wondering if these engine are reliable I’m the type of person to keep a vehicle for 150k plus miles I hope it would at least last that long

You mention oil advertising. When I was in high school there was a late night TV commercial where they ran a normal car (normally a Honda Accord or similar) around a track stock, drain it, add the Wonder Oil (mystery oil) and run it around again. After 10 laps they’d poke holes in the drain pan and let all the oil drain out, supposedly, and run it around the track with only the residue of their Wonder Oil left in the engine and the car would just go, and go, and go……. We called it ‘Wonder Oil’ because we wondered why the heck people believed it. Then caught a lot of grief because people are gullable.

With this Bronco having dual timing chains, does this car have the water pump driven by those chains like my 3.5L Taurus does?

This is missing all the luggage's from when when they exited from the garage, the garage door was too low and knocked all of the roof rack luggages to the concrete before they started their trip. Amazing car haha

I have a 2020 STX 4X4 w/the 2.7. It is my work truck and have put 115,000 miles on it. I have it serviced every 5000 miles using Fords full synthetic oil. I haven't had any issues with this engine. I'm in Phoenix and this truck idles for about 20 minutes straight at least 10 times a day as it is my mobile office. With summer temperatures hitting 110°+ I'm super impressed with this engine. I'm hoping it'll last 500,000 miles before needing major work.
