2017 Porsche Macan Tubro with the spare tire you have to inflate... The hitch was easy to instal BUT this bolts into the battery well not the spare tire well . The battery occupies the entire height of this compartment, the reinforcement plate and the bolt head both protrude into this compartment hence the lid will not close saying nothing about the weight of the battery now resting on these two points. Then idea of putting a hitch rated for 5000 lbs suspended on a bracket designed to support the last portion of the exhaust system is another matter. The factory hitch is bolted to the cars frame but three times the cost, you pay your money and take your chances.. I took mine off and returned it after talking to a Curt rep and him suggesting I send pictures to the engineering dept.
This should be the top comment. They complete skip this fact or the part for older macans. I'm not sure where the newer macans battery is but people need to remove the spare tire and clear the well to ensure they're not DRILLING INTO THE BATTERY or anything else. This video is literally a danger to people.
I have a factory hitch on my 2016 Macan but I don't need it or want it. I have an MBRP muffler delete and a diffuser without the tow hitch opening waiting to go on. Do you guys know if the factory hitch can be removed? It appears like I would have to take apart some of the rear interior floor to pull 4 bolts out from the top to get the factory hitch to slide out.
Good video. Just installed one on my Macan this morning. I did choose the Draw Tite as it does not have anything exposed outside of the bumper. Only the receiver sticks out. A bit cleaner look IMO.
There should be pre-drilled holes on that support. You may need to remove the diffuser to see it. Alternatively, you can take the rear bumper cover off too.
I should have watched this video instead of the others where they removed the entire bumper and not just the lower…would have saved myself over 2.5 hours
I think Porsche sells a wire thing buts it’s like 200-300 bucks not sure that’s what I was quoted over the phone not including installation total for all if Porsche did it was 2700-3000 unreal
It likely does but we haven't confirmed fitment and unfortunately Curt hasn't either. I'm pretty sure it will. If you're interested, you could look at the mounting points in the video and confirm they are the same. We'll take a look next time we have a facelifted Macan in the shop.
I just followed your step and took the rear valance diffuser off. It wasn’t as easy as in the video because there are clips every 3 inches or so... it will take some force in order to take it off. But the mounts are the same. I’m going to order one and report back as well if it is a fit for a 2019.

You'll have to do the small trimming we did. Diffuser should be the same between the Macans.

This client was using to add a bike rack so didn't have a lighting requirement. Therefore, we don't have a wiring install.
