I feel that but struggle builds character. It builds self awareness, self esteem and you better understand how the world operates. Most iconic people we learn about in school had to go through long periods of struggle to become who they turned out to be.

McCants is romanticizing and celebrating the struggle like a lot of people do. It's not fun doing that. I'm sorry. I agree with Nick Young on that point. When I was struggling to get on my feet, I was lucky to be able to live with my parents and finally get to a point where I was able to be on my own. Safety nets are important if you have them because not everybody has that. Hell, I don't need to struggle to build good character. If you got the resources and connections, use them. Don't struggle if you don't have to. McCants sounds goofy.
PS: The show is much more peaceful without Gil yelling at the top of his lungs.
