Hi Lock Noob, this little "torch" would be handy for Locksmiths when reading wafer locks prior to cutting or impressioning a key. However we use an ophthalmoscope - used by eye specialists etc. - as the beam can be expanded from almost a dot to 2 inches or so, but more importantly can be focussed on say an individual pin or wafer. However this little Huk would be very handy I'm sure.

Hey Ash! I've have mine for about 3 years now. I got it off Amazon and I use it for reading wafers and checking pin condition. I also used it on a call where a kid broke the tooth of a plastic fork off in a lock and shoved it all the way to the back. Works great!

Man, I'm gonna stop watching your channel. Every time I end up going down an aliexpress rabbit hole with dozens of tabs open in firefox. And I don't even pick locks!

I would classify these all as good, but non essential items. The torch in particular is very useful and I wish I’d had one earlier… my phone light isn’t quite the same! 😂

Looks like a tool that could be used in many ways beyond just lock inspection. I might have to get one.

I bought it to. You can also dim it. Just hold the button half on when the light is on, than it goes off and on. But lower. There are 3 staps for dimming.

I've an off brand padlock which has a keyway that looks like a lever lock but, as far as i can tell, has no levers. I cannot determine what i need to open it. I was considering just ignoring it, when this video came up. Yeah, maybe i should have thought of a little bendy light to look into the keyway before this, but hey! You pointed me in the right direction. Something like this (if not this exactly) may allow me to get this silly lock open. Thank you for this video.

This looks like a useful too to have. When you need one of these it would come in really handy, good to have in the tool kit. Thanks for this review, cheers

I've seen this tool and wondered if it was worth it. I use one of those ear inspection torches and find that works quite well too.
As for the lock, like you say defo demo purpises only.
    Great review as always.

Personally I enjoy clear locks and pick them often. I'd agree they're really more of a display piece but I've found sometimes very low quality locks can be surprisingly tricky to pick and these clear locks can often hint at why you're having issues or present similar problems themselves. They do wear alot however and it's best to keep display pieces for display and use a secondary lock for picking.
This is the first time I've seen an automotive one. I'll have to add it to my list.
That second slider lock you showed looks familiar. From Sparrows if I'm not mistaken. Did you manage to pick it?

Thanks - I’ve been looking for this sort of light!
Question - do you know of a cheap usb borescope you’d recommend? Would like to film the back of the lock while I pick it.

Hi, I have a (presumably) older Zeiss Ikon euro cylinder with these wings on the key. Let this be a warning: at least in mine, these pins are trap pins that have the driver pins block the core from rotating after about 110°. The outer side of my euro cylinder is very grimy and has what felt like a spool in that trap pin position. it's now permanently stuck. please be careful

You'd be surprised how many people try to pick a lock themselves and jam something in there before calling a locksmith.

Saw "torch" and got excited for destructive lock opening. Came in and saw a flashlight. I am disappoint.

I actually love the clear practice lock, I just really want a HON66 one, I'm definitely going to get called to more Japanese cars than German where I'm at lol.
