    BIG THANK YOU to Leon and Jason for these locks. If you pick one of these please take care, those short driver pins could lead to catastrophic spring damage.

      I was watching Steve's Lockpicking disassembled one of these just two days ago and revealed the short pin stacks. I consider myself lucky not to have ruined the one I picked now 😊thanks for sharing and have a great weekend Ash 👍🤜🤛

      They make excellent locks.... but those models are at City Lock, not at Home Depot

    For tight warding like this, I like to use my hooks as flags, that is, to rotate rather than lever. With luck, after clearing enough pins, you can rest the shaft of the pick on the top ward.

    Yes! This video has indeed been a long time coming and been waiting to see how you're going on with your personal Master Lock 19 saga. I honestly believe that the " Serrated" feedback that's felt with these are from the spring ( maybe another reason for their being so beefy , to take the extra abuse if the lock ever has to be picked, along with theuse of strong core spring to save the spring from getting mangled ).
    this confirms my suspicion that I have had with these and was totally convinced that they were some out there with serrated but to find out, that's the spring. I will share more information with you as I find out. 🦾👍🔥

    What a beast and a monstrous shackle pop. nice picking Lock Noob. If it's the same Jason and I am pretty sure it is as he featured that lock on his channel after it was made into a cutaway. He sent me one of his master lock number 19's to have a pick at, now I see why it was a little frustrating to pick at first 😂. I could tell they were not all standard pins but couldn't work out what they were.
    Thank you so much for sharing and the great reveal as to what's inside this beast.

    Thank you for sharing your insights, j.gabriel and I have had the same conclusions when we were discussing these 19's, I have definitely enjoyed what I have learned by cutting of number of these open, by the eay if your interested i can send you a link of the video where that particular 19 was made into a cutaway, I would also love to see a closeup of the pins while you are picking it, thanks again for sharing

    Now that provided a lot of insight, I've seen then picked before but never knew about the springs protruding down into the chamber, that would be a big problem. Thanks, that is one beefy lock, and that cutaway is gorgeous!

    Isn’t it the number 19 that has those crazy pins because you self-key it? I think Bosnian Bill had a video on this. As delivered, each chamber has one long serrated pin in it. You insert the key, twist it hard, and each pin breaks into two parts at the nearest serration, giving you your pinning for that specific key.

    • @jonmcdonald6374
      @jonmcdonald6374 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, that's not this lock. These are known for having some what are basically "zero lift" pins, that make these pretty difficult to pick.

    Would you be interested in a dual custody soviet era really large padlock with two sets of keys, and what i believe is the original box from Turkmenistan that a friend of mine sent me? I was able to pick one side open, but even the key for the other side is unreliable. I don't know if its a stuck pin or something, but i was able to shim that side from the front to get it open. Not sure what anyone would use it for. It's bloody huge. Weighs 1173g and the shackle itself is 75mm. I'd love to see it restored. But i can't figure out how to get it apart without damaging it

    They should've kept the core, but made the springs less prone to breaking. That would make their modern products a LOT better.

    I’m very new to lock picking and have a question. Why do you start from pin 6 and work your way to pin 1. I have a terrible time finding pin 6 unless I start at pin 1. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for letting me ask a really “noob” question.

    I’m kind of laughing at the title of this one. If you’ve watched bosnianbill’s video on the model 19 you know why you shouldn’t pick it. It’s because it’s incredibly difficult. He compared the keyway to the TrioVing D-12 which as a most of us know is extremely hard to pick because the keypins literally rest on the warding so getting a pick under them has a really high chance of oversetting them.

    That is hardly the BEST lock from Master, but it was a large one, no doubt. Master makes commercial models that never get featured by yootoobers, particularly the ones that take door lock cylinders by Medeco, Assa, Ruko etc. There was also the first "Door lock Cylinder" padlock which resembled the #19 from Master, the model #29.

      If the core needs to be from another manufacturer, the lock isn’t a Master Lock any more
