I made myself a tensioner just like the GJ one a year or so ago and it's my go-to for curtained locks, obviously i can't vouch for the real deal but the design is a good one, and certainly more convenient than digging though a selection of fixed-size tools! I've not really found that the wobble is an issue, and actually find the wire is held better than the rather wide channel found in most of the cylindrical types. Mine was tricky to machine, and not quite as simple as it may first appear, so unless you have the equipment and fancy a little challenge, these are great value! go give GJ your money!
Mostly 5 and 7 gauge you won't find many different than that I never have as yet G.J gear is always perfect beautifully made gear i watch a lot of fortress locksmith and all his gear is the latest GJ gear always has the best toys by far ❤👌
Nice review. I have Mk 1 of that tool, and Gerant has just given me Mk 3, so I will look into the comparison, I have both the lollipops, and I do prefer the screw on you you have 👍
This set looks very good, and I have a lot of GJ tools so I know the high quality standards, excellent customer service and aftercare that you get with them. However, I do keep hearing everyone raving about the 8-Ball multi-guage pick, so in this instance making a choice between the two would be a tough for me. Although I don't like the 8-Ball's 3d printed handle, it's a substantial weak point and it's a disappointment to have it in an otherwise premium product. The GJ Tools handle in this set looks great, and is a far better offering...
From the GJ Locks website: "We do not ship tools outside the United Kingdom. We therefore do not accept accounts from outside the United Kingdom. If you are not a trading UK Locksmith please do not apply[.]" So Mr. Geraint Jones experienced no feeling of irony when he decided to use Lock Noob--a non-locksmith--to promote a product that Lock Noob would otherwise be unable to purchase from the good Mr. Jones? Is Bridgend, Wales, where irony goes to die? This review, then, is for what, 5% of Lock Noob's subscribers? This channel has veered off its original charter to become entirely unrecognizable from the early content. Who, specifically, is the intended audience? It certainly isn't the lock sport/hobbyist communities since the reviewed products are prohibitively expensive or restricted from purchase. 🐒
I love that screw together grip, very clever design.
These are fabulously versatile and I agree, another lollipop handle would be the cream on the cake with this kit.
GJ makes quality tools 🙂👍

Mostly 5 and 7 guage, but you do get a fair amount of 5.5 guage locks actually. And the odd 8 guage. 👍
superb review on a superb tool.
....from a superb tool ;)

Look like a very well designed and made tool
Would this work on non-curtained locks? I'd like to get set of tools (and then maybe find some lever locks) to practice on.
No, you'd need a different tensioner. The picking wires are interchangeable tho
@@jambonroyale2774 Thought so. Thanks
Great review Ash mate 👍👊😊🇬🇧😎
Brilliant!
